First thing out of the way, Arise Bazaar is not easy to find but I made it easier to find. It's behind the shops in front as soon as you enter. Past the first row of places, immediately make a left and you'll see Arise. I think they did not have a sign at the time luckily it was not hard to spot ( there was a van that had cherry blossoms as a dead giveaway too ). Second, the person (Paul) who runs this shop does not open this shop frequently. If it is not a sale he is doing, most of the time you'd have to schedule an appointment for him to come out. It's a bit strange but since my visit was based on his IG post about a sale on everything in the store, it was enticing for me to check it out. They just have really limited hours so I highly suggest you go early. Third, while I am all for supporting Arise Bazaar, the items I got besides the Yukata might be on Amazon. I realized after buying my Clip On Obi that it's cheaper on there but I will leave that to your digression. That being said.. Walking in here, this is a warehouse full of antiques. From pottery to paintings, to kimonos/yukatas.. there's a lot going on here. Paul, the person who runs the store was kind enough to take time to show me where the Yukatas were at and left me to see what color scheme or design I wanted to try out. He was nice and even offered to help me put the yukata on. Since I wanted more than the Yukata, I also tried out the Clip on Obi he recommended. He was not really knowledgeable and tried his best to help me put it on securely but he offered to see if a staff member could come in to help assist in the future. After picking out the Yukata and the Clip on Obi, we looked at fans to buy and he was generous enough to let me get an extra fan as a gift. I think the total after the discount was around 200 which was a nice deal. My only complaint is that the store is very all over the place. Many boxes of things that could be out in display, there were Kimonos/Yukatas I did not get to check out and I wish I mentioned that sooner. Paul is also an expert of Kimonos, but if you wanted to get your kimono actually dressed professionally, he has to inquire with a staff member who's more prepared for that. I just found it a bit difficult to understand if it's your profession to be an expert but not be able to not tie a Kimono/Yukata. Perhaps I'm being a bit harsh but I want people to what to expect. Overall my experience was great, I do want to support the store despite knowing some items could be a bit pricier. Definitely a hidden gem if you are on the hunt for Japanese Antiques!

The shop is filled with some of the most beautiful and unique pieces we've ever seen. The owner took the time to walk us through different items and even shared some history, which made everything so much more meaningful and enjoyable. Even if vintage pieces aren't usually your style, I truly can't recommend this place enough. Once I opened the door I was surprised by the range of findings. Even though I didn't find what I was looking for I did notice an array of country/rustic pieces (shutters, tables, and wall decor), glamours pieces (mirrored tables), color pops (highly pigmented chairs), chandeliers, clothing, and assorted Knick knacks (typewriters, books, model toys, fixtures/doors from older homes). I believe they were also selling candles, soaps, and fragrances. It was very fragrant inside. It's worth going back to see their new items. There was definitely a good amount of traffic so come early. I was looking for this turquoise chair but that beauty was gone. Since it's a tag sale if you love it (because there are no returns) grab the ticket, go to the counter, and it's yours. I believe you have five days to pickup any large items purchase. I'm sorry you felt the need to write down such a review over your claim..." That's not an apology for a botched inspection! This company essentially told our moving company that our claim was mostly fraudulent by denying our damages, which thankfully we were able to prove otherwise. Oh, and the table below that I previously said they "beautifully fixed" - yeah, so, after they fixed it (fixed in place, mind you), they rotated it (odd since it was fixed in place). I couldn't find the damage because it was now on the other side of the room. It was fixed just ok - we keep the spot covered. Original: Overall, we do not recommend, although some of their repair work was excellent (and some was pitiful). Their inspection capability was sub-par, and David's attitude was extremely pompous in person (and somewhat over email). Our move had massive amounts of damage, and we had photos of the storage units and moving trucks with our household goods horribly packed (heavy items shown crushing more delicate items below). However, David and crew determined those items had "pre-existing damage" (nevermind that we had before-move photos, pre-move inspection documentation, photos of the items being crushed during the move, testimony from the movers themselves that items were damaged during transit, etc.) David's attitude was so pompous during the whole process that he was not open to even consider being wrong (they even labeled glass items as "plastic"). It took about a year to rectify their poor inspection and settle with the moving company (which we ultimately did to our satisfaction once we were able to show that the inspection company did not correctly capture the damages). To their credit, they were responsive, beautifully fixed a horribly gouged table with sentimental value, and were willing to at least confirm what the moving company was telling us. Recommend they lose the attitude, treat customers with respect, consider all evidence, and learn a little bit more about item values and materials.
