Even though I zoomed by this place at first, this ended up being my favorite place to browse. It is a multilevel building with many rooms that you can go through and peek at all the items. I took my time in each room/stall area to look everything over. There were pieces here that looked great, but didn't fit my need for the time being. I was about to exit when the owner saw my frustrated look. He asked me if you could help me find anything. I described what I was looking for and he started guiding me around the space. Pointing out items, but he knew that it wasn't what I was looking for. He even stated that they just sold something that might have filled that void for me. When I was about to head out he actually gave me suggestions on where else I should look. This is a great business and one that shares brochures for other antiquing businesses. He told me about other shops around and we ended up talking about cats. We also ended up showing each other pictures of our cats. It was and odd, but greatly appreciated experience.

It's worth stopping in just to enjoy the architecture and see the old building. There are a lot of antiques, especially China sets for sale as well as artwork. There's also a fair amount of antique items on display that are not for sale. The proprietors are extremely friendly.

First thing out of the way, Arise Bazaar is not easy to find but I made it easier to find. It's behind the shops in front as soon as you enter. Past the first row of places, immediately make a left and you'll see Arise. I think they did not have a sign at the time luckily it was not hard to spot ( there was a van that had cherry blossoms as a dead giveaway too ). Second, the person (Paul) who runs this shop does not open this shop frequently. If it is not a sale he is doing, most of the time you'd have to schedule an appointment for him to come out. It's a bit strange but since my visit was based on his IG post about a sale on everything in the store, it was enticing for me to check it out. They just have really limited hours so I highly suggest you go early. Third, while I am all for supporting Arise Bazaar, the items I got besides the Yukata might be on Amazon. I realized after buying my Clip On Obi that it's cheaper on there but I will leave that to your digression. That being said.. Walking in here, this is a warehouse full of antiques. From pottery to paintings, to kimonos/yukatas.. there's a lot going on here. Paul, the person who runs the store was kind enough to take time to show me where the Yukatas were at and left me to see what color scheme or design I wanted to try out. He was nice and even offered to help me put the yukata on. Since I wanted more than the Yukata, I also tried out the Clip on Obi he recommended. He was not really knowledgeable and tried his best to help me put it on securely but he offered to see if a staff member could come in to help assist in the future. After picking out the Yukata and the Clip on Obi, we looked at fans to buy and he was generous enough to let me get an extra fan as a gift. I think the total after the discount was around 200 which was a nice deal. My only complaint is that the store is very all over the place. Many boxes of things that could be out in display, there were Kimonos/Yukatas I did not get to check out and I wish I mentioned that sooner. Paul is also an expert of Kimonos, but if you wanted to get your kimono actually dressed professionally, he has to inquire with a staff member who's more prepared for that. I just found it a bit difficult to understand if it's your profession to be an expert but not be able to not tie a Kimono/Yukata. Perhaps I'm being a bit harsh but I want people to what to expect. Overall my experience was great, I do want to support the store despite knowing some items could be a bit pricier. Definitely a hidden gem if you are on the hunt for Japanese Antiques!

But, in the end, I was happily surprised. Walking in you are welcomed by a vast space filled to the brim with items to search through. This place could literally be a treasure hunt if you have the time to do so. Even though it was quite tempting, I was on a mission to find what I came here for. Making my way to the area where they had all their furniture was almost like walking into a different section here. I zig-zagged my way through the area and taking glimpses at items as I went. It was hard to figure out if the item you were looking at was a singular item or part of a matching set. It was also hard to tell if an item was for sale or if it was just a display item. It was also hard to tell if that item was sold already or not. After searching and searching, I decided on what I wanted. However, with my never being here before, and not knowing what to do, I had to search for an employee to figure this out. Now, you want to talk about a treasure hunt, this was a treasure hunt trying to find an employee. After my search was successful, I was able to figure out what to do to at least pay for the items. I paid and then needed to get those items into my vehicle. After some time and employee was able to get the end tables out of the area they were and up to the front. Once I had them in my vehicle I was able to head home. Once I got them home I did a healthy cleaning and polishing. Tightened a few screws and they were good as new. Actually gave me some great space to store and display. I wanted to touch on the employees here. If they are good at one thing, it is how to avoid the customers and/or displayed disdain in helping customers. There was no affect on the gentleman that helped me load the tables into my vehicle. And having to play hide and seek/tag with the employees was not super toddler fun like it used to be.

The shop has a set of handcrafted items by young artist as well as teas by an organization called Skirted Soldier - which is a female Veteran Owned company. This house contains quite an extensive collection of things from food items, vintage to handmade goods. It's like as if Etsy did a pop-up here. On the ground level, you can find local ice cream, meats from a local farm and other homemade goods like jams and sauces. Browsing in there makes it fun too as the items are displayed in the different rooms throughout. Every corner you turn there is something new! I saw some really beautiful items, some funny ones too.
