This branch was two doors down from Shoppers Drug Mart. It's a small branch. It's open Monday through Friday from 9:30 am to 5 pm. On Saturdays, it closes an hour early at 4 pm. On Sundays, it's closed. Those hours are decent if you need to speak to a person to do teller services or more complex financial transactions. What surprised me was reading a notice saying that ATMs are only accessible between 8 am to 9 pm. Normally, ATM branch access is 24 hours. The idea is that the lobby where the ATMs are located are available. Technically, it can be or used to be done at this branch, but I don't know enough about the rationale to limit ATM hours. Perhaps there was a recent ATM heist? If you do need to do ATM banking after 9 pm through 8 am, the branch at Victoria Park Avenue and Sheppard Avenue East is available. I used one of the two ATMs at this bank. CIBC and Simplii cards work here without any ATM transaction fees. I liked that I could tap my card and then specify my PIN. It's refreshing to not swipe my card and wear out the magnetic strip over time. My transaction was smooth. The touchscreen had the perfect sensitivity. I like the option to not have a paper printout. I try my best not to use it, to save a tree or two. There is plenty of parking in this plaza. It was great finding this CIBC while running an errand at the drugstore. (162)

From the details and suggestions she had for me yesterday, you can tell she was highly dedicated to her work and was just on it, at the very moment you decided something. The speed of her service was fast, more staffs like this and hopefully there won't be long line ups and wait time at banks. CIBC needs more staffs like Jessie who can actually help the customers, the branch and the image of the bank. I needed to do a transaction. I don't bank with CIBC often these days. Once in a while, I do, like I did today. I was driving northbound on Brimley Road. This branch is at Chartwell Shopping Centre, in a plaza that I used to frequent often when I worked in Scarborough eons ago. Back then, this plaza had a Shoppers Drug Mart and a Price Choppers. Both are gone. My friend, who was also my colleague, and I came here during our lunch break regularly. She banked with CIBC. Back then, this branch was next door to Price Chopper. With all the changes that occurred at this plaza, it's now a standalone building at the corner on Brimley Road and Huntingwood Drive. I had no problem finding the entrance to the drive-thru ATM. Even with my dilated eyes, it was straightforward. There was one vehicle ahead of me, which gave me time to fetch my bank card out of my wallet. The ATM was clean. I had no problem entering my PIN and performing a straightforward cash withdrawal. Easy peasy! There is parking in front of this branch. It was a bit busy, as it was just before noon. There's a Tim Hortons and a Pizza Pizza a few doors down from this CIBC, so be careful driving over to this bank. It looks like this bank is the only business with a drive-thru here. I would often see folks parking over in this area when the regular GO parking lot was full. I never had to park on this side of the tracks. Several months ago, I came to this branch to get a debit card. To make a long story short, I decided to open a savings account. I asked how I could deposit money into this account. The phone representative suggested doing a pre-authorized transaction. I didn't want that option only. I wanted the flexibility to deposit money whenever I want to. I have a Visa card with Scotiabank. I walked in on a Wednesday morning. Most Scotiabank branches have banking hours, which means that it closes at either 4 or 5 pm. They tend to stay open later on Thursday and Fridays. I was helped by a friendly teller, who set up my debit card. She linked my savings and Visa cards. All went well, including my setting up a PIN. Service is great. I want to give this location four stars. However, I dislike visiting this area. The parking is crazy and folks cannot drive around this area for beans! This branch has been here for eons. I like it for a bunch of reasons. There's parking that faces a set of steps leading to the entrance. These spots are shared with businesses in front of them. Otherwise, there's a ton of parking behind the branch. Whomever designed this Scotiabank with accessibility in mind gets full marks from me. This branch has two ramps. One faces Sheppard Avenue East if you are walking north from this street to get to this bank. The other ramp is there if you've parked behind the building. There's a button that you can press to open the doors to enter the branch. Similarly, there's a button to open the doors when you leave. I've only an ABM to make a deposit. This branch has three ABMs. I've never had any issues making a deposit here. This branch does not have a drive-thru. I like that it doesn't and I'm normally all for one. This branch has a retro feel to it. Adding a drive-thru ABM would destroy the vibe. This branch has full teller services. I've never had the need to use them. I am pleased that they are there if I ever need them. This bank is similar to other Scotiabank locations with its hours of operation. This branch is closed on Sundays. It closes at 4 pm on Saturdays.
