No thanks…read more We bought a $12 bag of concrete, took the panels off, set the the previous post back in the new concrete (because it came right out of the ground clean [due to the fence installation co. we hired being inline with so many construction contractors/workers these days, doing half-assed work]), then put the panels back on after the post set. $12 and about 45 minutes worth of work. This isn't work like a doctor does going into surgery - it's taking screws out, mixing concrete (which is less complicated than mixing together ingredients for cake out of a box), aligning your post correctly, then putting the screws back in. $500? Maybe the local car wash should charge $500 to do a basic hand wash on a small vehicle - it's just as complicated.

I would like to start off by saying, all-in-all, I was happy with the work that was done. I would definitely use them again if I needed similar services needed in the future, or anything else they provide work on. Really, the only downside was the amount of time, from initial contact to when the actual work was completed took longer than expected. There was mentioned a personal emergency, which I understand, and that they didn't want to schedule too many jobs in advance in case something runs over or a contractor is unexpectedly unavailable. But my initial contact took place on 10/24 and a contract wasn't sent over for me to review and return until 11/4, then I wasn't contacted to schedule an appointment until 11/20. So, while I would have liked to been kept in contact more, I am glad to say I was very happy with the work done. I would probably recommend calling the company, rather than using the website/email; that might provide a quicker turnaround. I just hate calling folks, so I avoid it when possible! Now on to the actual work. The contractor arrived on time, and looked professional. He was also courteous and didn't mind my cats, which is a bonus since they tend to be super nosy with visitors. He arrived around the ETA I was given, and was quick to ask what all I needed done. I showed him the three items we needed help with, and he said he would be able to get it all done. He got to work right away. I ended up needing to leave for work a little after he arrived, but my husband said he was great the entire time I was gone too. It wasn't until a few hours later that I came home to inspect everything. The toilet no longer constantly runs, my caulking job looks perfect, and I have a nice new showerhead instead of what was left over from the previous owners! The initial contact went a little slow, but I am very happy with the overall results, thus my rating. The hourly rate was a little higher than I expected, but I knew it ahead of time. During the installation, he bragged about how door installation was his forte. When he left, I thought all was well and he asked me to leave a review. A few months later I had a football game party and a couple of guys noted the extremely shoddy workmanship of the installation of the door. I felt really duped by Don Bellehumeur. One of the guys even found where he screwed up and instead of correcting it, he went ahead and proceeded to deceive me. I contacted Menards because that is where I purchased the door and that is where I was given Don's contact information. Menards asked for photos of the poorly installed door and they then met with Don to see if they could come up with some sort of resolution. The Menards store manager then contacted me and told me Don refused to do the right thing and re install the door. To Menards credit, they did tell me they will never do business with "Don's Home Improvement" again and will never recommend him to another customer. I now have to have the door reinstalled all at my expense. In the meantime and until the weather improves, I have a door through which you can see daylight and on which the deadbolt is not properly aligned, raising safety concerns. Run, don't walk, away fron this guy. He's got a real line of bull. And to all those females out there and not so handy men, beware of these types of contractors who will take advantage of anyone that doesn't know the difference between a reputable contractor and a shyster like Don Bellehumeur.
