Unfortunately, the reality was very different and the decision turned out to be a major mistake. Students are treated more like high schoolers than college adults, with policies and oversight that feel controlling and out of step with what most families expect from a university. The most alarming issue, however, is how the school appears to handle rape and sexual assault. From what we witnessed, the system seems to protect perpetrators far more than it protects victims. Individuals accused of serious misconduct appear to face minimal consequences, while victims can feel ignored, blamed, or even vilified for speaking up. That kind of environment discourages reporting and raises serious concerns about student safety. Drugs and alcohol are also clearly present on campus, yet the systems meant to monitor and address these problems seem ineffective. We did ask questions about safety and student well-being before enrolling and, unfortunately, believed the reassurances we were given. In hindsight, the reality did not match the rhetoric. Overall, the college does a very good job marketing itself and creating a positive first impression. Unfortunately, our experience suggests that the reality behind the brochures is far less reassuring. Families considering this school should ask difficult questions about student safety, accountability, and how serious incidents are actually handled.

The College is actually of Catholic background. Lawd knows if I was attending there would be spontaneous combustion since I am banned from churches, but it's not about me so let me stop. The actual dorms are rather roomy and nice. It was hard to leave my signature when it came to financial portion, but hey the child will have an awesome education, so it will be worth it. The main office is located in the vintage portion of the college, that kind of scared me- but once our tour was started, I quickly saw the newer and safer buildings that were part of the campus. Wow, these kids will have better eats then I did. They have their own restaurant which of course has three courses from breakfast to dinner. Really good and healthy food too. And their gymnasium is pretty big also. I think that I you decide to go here (and it is 3 hours away from Chicago), you will be impressed.

I majored in exercise science and had no other options for a career once I graduated with my undergrad. They did not look out for me or care what happened to me once I graduated. This is not a one time occurrence. Someone close to me was also completely screwed over by Ambrose's DPT program. He had to transfer schools mid-program due to Ambrose's misguided and unfair program. They told him false-promises that resulted in a worse situation for him. He followed all instructions from director, Mike Puthoff, to be able to stay but was thrown out and abandoned without remorse. Overall, Mike Puthoff is a two-faced, unfair, and mediocre program director with DPT passing rates plummeting ever since he took over. He has poor management over instructors in his program and has yet to prove any care towards the students he teaches. The material taught at Ambrose is mediocre at best and needs to be re-evaluated along with their director.

I took the loan and on my last conversation with them I was assured my balance was paid in full and my acct, was down to $ 0. I have never been contacted from Kaplan again. Now I got a call from a collection agency telling me Kaplan sold them my account and that I owe $ 1300. I contacted Kaplan and requested the transcript of the call where I was informed my acct. was paid in full and they say they can't send it to me. And today after they reported me to collections they were willing to take yet another payment from me for $ 1210. Be careful what school you enroll with, stay away from low-level education crooks like Kaplan University.

So my husband passed suddenly and I advised them that i needed time off. they wanted to give me about 4 months off. I told them that i was not ready but they kept those counselors calling everyday. I was pressured into going back to school when I was not ready and what made it worst was while i was back in I wanted to drop my classes at that time because my sister passed. These people didn't want to hear anything about that. I needed to go to school and finish these classes. Well one year later I am going strong in class passing all of my classes when I get that phone call telling me that I had to pay them 1200.00 for a class that i didn't pass. This was during the time that my sister passed. I called the school just to get the run around. Now someone tells me I should have asked for emergency leave and taken a year off. Well hell that is what i was doing but they refused to help a the time. Never heard anything else from them. I am trying to transfer my classes from Kaplan University to a local Universality and these people refuse to give me my transcript until i fork over the 1200.00 I am paying it but I would advise anyone to look at other universities before choosing this one.

Wanted to go from a natural blonde to bright lavender, avoiding lightener if possible. They explained that wouldn't be possible and lightener was needed. They also didn't have time to do both, so they said they would bleach and tone the hell out of it until I could come back. Their scheduler didn't account for a double-processing appointment. So I expected to leave that day with a silvery, purple-undertone blonde that would take easy to the coloring next time. Student almost melted my hair off. There were not nearly enough instructors to adequately and safely manage that many clients. I sobbed for 45 mins while they were washing the bleach off my head, which they had to pull before one side was even ON because they were so slow that it had processed for SO LONG on the first side. She took me over for a haircut, and an instructor asked the student to walk away, stepped in and apologized for the way it turned out. She said the student had personal issues that day and should not have been on the floor. She said the school wanted to pay for me to come back and have everything fixed. Day saved, right? For the time being. I came into my next appointment and they quoted me $80 to do the work, I mentioned that the other instructor told me that the school wanted to fix it on-the-house, and this new person said it didn't count because the initial appointment was just for the bleaching and toning. I countered with, "but it wouldn't have to be FIXED if I didn't have one side of my hair still a half-processed orange and the other side silver. What we talked about would have been a stopping point where I could have decided to not come back in." Clearly not a convincing enough argument. What was I supposed to do, just walk with the god awful color I came in with? Rarely do I have time to spend in a salon, so two days a week apart was really pushing it already. Plus, if I went anywhere else I would have needed to pay anyways. I had a much more competent student this time around, so I stayed for the appointment. The color was just not what I wanted. Far too dark, uneven from one side to the next. They never finished the lightening because that would have been another double-processing and they failed to account for that yet again. The instructor came over and was condescending, saying "it's still pretty," telling me that I can come in next time with a better idea of what it may look like. I did not expect perfection, but I expected professionalism. Very displeased that one instructor noticed the poor work done, offered to complete the job on the dime of the school, and another gave me every excuse to not oblige. I paid $95 to have a student leave me looking like I diy'd a split-dye treatment, and then another $80 to get a color far darker than what I had come in for, and done so unevenly. Please pardon the "." I included a crying pic so the "sobbed for 45 mins" doesn't feel hyperbolic. Don't worry, I cried quietly.
