Used to come for haircuts, thought I might try and a color to shake things up a bit. Worst hair experience of my life. Wanted to go from a natural blonde to bright lavender, avoiding lightener if possible. They explained that wouldn't be possible and lightener was needed. They also didn't have time to do both, so they said they would bleach and tone the hell out of it until I could come back. Their scheduler didn't account for a double-processing appointment. So I expected to leave that day with a silvery, purple-undertone blonde that would take easy to the coloring next time. Student almost melted my hair off. There were not nearly enough instructors to adequately and safely manage that many clients. I sobbed for 45 mins while they were washing the bleach off my head, which they had to pull before one side was even ON because they were so slow that it had processed for SO LONG on the first side. She took me over for a haircut, and an instructor asked the student to walk away, stepped in and apologized for the way it turned out. She said the student had personal issues that day and should not have been on the floor. She said the school wanted to pay for me to come back and have everything fixed. Day saved, right? For the time being. I came into my next appointment and they quoted me $80 to do the work, I mentioned that the other instructor told me that the school wanted to fix it on-the-house, and this new person said it didn't count because the initial appointment was just for the bleaching and toning. I countered with, "but it wouldn't have to be FIXED if I didn't have one side of my hair still a half-processed orange and the other side silver. What we talked about would have been a stopping point where I could have decided to not come back in." Clearly not a convincing enough argument. What was I supposed to do, just walk with the god awful color I came in with? Rarely do I have time to spend in a salon, so two days a week apart was really pushing it already. Plus, if I went anywhere else I would have needed to pay anyways. I had a much more competent student this time around, so I stayed for the appointment. The color was just not what I wanted. Far too dark, uneven from one side to the next. They never finished the lightening because that would have been another double-processing and they failed to account for that yet again. The instructor came over and was condescending, saying "it's still pretty," telling me that I can come in next time with a better idea of what it may look like. I did not expect perfection, but I expected professionalism. Very displeased that one instructor noticed the poor work done, offered to complete the job on the dime of the school, and another gave me every excuse to not oblige. I paid $95 to have a student leave me looking like I diy'd a split-dye treatment, and then another $80 to get a color far darker than what I had come in for, and done so unevenly. I visited you on April 30 for a perm. I shared up front with the student that I am currently going though chemo for breast cancer. It was decided to do a test to see if my hair would take the chemical. It worked out that my hair was good to go. The instructor (E. Sands) told the student (Maddie W.) to shampoo my hair twice and no condition. When we went to the wash bowl, I had to ask the student if she was going to put a drape on me. "Oh yeah need to go get that". Took her 5 minutes to get that and when she returned, she washed my hair and when she was done, I had to sit there with my head in the wash bowl while she went to get a towel came back with 1 towel. Patted my hair dry and then we went back to her station. She didn't know how to section my hair and had the teacher do it for her. The teacher told her since I had bangs to roll from my crown to the front forward. She only rolled the bangs forward and the rest back which explains why I now have trouble styling my hair with my bangs. After the rolling was done the instructor told her to get towels and she came back with 1 towel. Then she was told to get 3 towels. I was given one to hold over my eyes one was put around my shoulders, and one was to hold with putting the solution on. After 10 minutes the hair was checked and then a plastic cap was put on for the remainer of 10 minutes. then went to a wash bowl and she processed to rinse my hair and then was prepared to remove the rollers. Thanks goodness she asked another student who told her she need to rinse for 5 minutes then blot dry my hair and apply the neutralizer. She had to go back to her station and get the neutralizer. She applied it and then I just sat laid back in the sink for the 5 minutes then she rinsed if off and removed the rollers now my hair is dripping wet and she has me sit up but she has NO towels so, while I sit there with water dripping into my face and down my back she goes and gets 1 towel. Pats dry my hair takes the drape off because it is soaking wet along with my shirt on the back. We go back to her station, and I use one of the towels to dry my face. She came back and said the instructor said to condition my hair. Went back to the wash bowl I again have to ask for a drape she had to go get one after putting the conditioner on she once again needs to go get a towel. She comes back with that, and we go back to her station. She uses her dryer with a defuser and then used the dryer to try and dry my shirt since it was still soaking wet. I just wanted to leave. By using the hair dryer, I had to pay for a style, but my hair was not styled. If I plan to return in the future, I am going to have an advanced student that is ready to graduate. When I got home and took off my t-shirt, I could ring out water because it was that wet. Worse Perm experience I have ever had there or a more professional place. read more

Two of us went in for a pedicure. It is extremely clean, which is very good. They don't use the dryers, they use a spray which is great. I did think the leg and foot massage could've been better. I thought the price should've been maybe $25. However, they did give us the nail polish so as not to reuse it again, which was a plus. Maybe have an option to donate it to a shelter in the area. I'll have to give it to somebody because I probably won't do my own Nails. You're getting five stars because cleanliness and the way my nails look afterwards was the determining factor. I figured a supervisor or trainer would've come and double checked each step of the way. read more

Every time I've come here -- about 5 times in the past 9 years -- I've been happy with the service I received. I usually come for brow and lash tinting. Today I got that plus a shampoo and blow dry. All went well, as usual. And because students do the work here, it all set me back only $31 (excluding tip). Such a deal! read more

Avoid at all costs I will NOT be returning to this salon! I cannot believe this is an establishment that is training young men and women to be working professionals. I visited with my mother to treat her for her birthday and we both immediately noticed the environment was extremely uncomfortable. My stylist asked her supervising teacher (I think her name was Miss Styger) for assistance 3+ times during my haircut and was not helped! How can you be training students but not help when they have a paying customer in their chair?? That was ridiculous. It's no wonder my haircut turned out how it did, it looked like my stylist wanted to cry from frustration. I felt so bad for her, imagine having to learn in that environment every day!!! I have never experienced this type of salon environment in my 30+ years visiting salons 4, sometimes 5 times a year. I had heard that Capri has a certain reputation but I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt. Never ever again!! We were there for our hair appointments for 2+ hours, and the entire time I saw "teachers" huddle on one end of the room and whisper and laugh about the students and their clients during appointments. Unacceptable. This is not high school!!!!!!! 0/5 stars, I would give negative stars if I could. Do better, educators!! Or find another job. read more

The quality of education is subpar. The instructors feud more than the students. They learn more from the memory game they make them play on the computer then from any instructor. Favoritism is played. Students that are favored get extra breaks, and the students that are not have their schedules jampacked so they don't even get to eat lunch. If your child wants to go to school here, do not waste your money. Most definitely not worth it. Your child will be miserable and you'll be out a bunch of money. read more

This was my first experience at the new location. Had this review been 15 years ago for the old location, I may have given it 2 or 3 stars. However, I was very pleasantly surprised. My mom had some gift cards, so we decided to make a day of it. I had a facial and mani/pedi, and she had the same plus a haircut. The facial was thorough and they used Dermalogica products, which I am a fan of. The ambience was quiet and relaxing and the student who worked with me was very professional and had a warm and friendly demeanor. You know it's a good facial if you're able to fall asleep and, after a neck/shoulder/arm massage followed by warm towel heaven, I was out like a light. The mani and pedi were also well done, my cuticles look great and my nails were shaped evenly and smoothly. Only downer was we weren't given enough time for our nails to dry before being whisked away to the hair station, so we both required touch-ups. However, the mani comes with a free full-size bottle of nail polish! Mama was happy with her haircut and still has enough on her certificate for color and eyebrow shaping next week! Excellent bargain. They also sell several lines of hair products, as well as Dermalogica skincare kits. Finally, they do birthday parties for kids, because pampering knows no age! :) read more

We received a certificate for a $7 reconstructive treatment.  My daughter spend $97 and left worse than she arrived. Since the floor manager lied to me about the content of their interaction and insisted they would not give a cash refund, I requested a certificate for some other type of service. Their prices are fair which is a plus. I've experienced their facials, half hour massage, and the 1 hour hot stone massage. All were an o.k. experience for the price. I will say the esthetician was pretty nice and so was the lady that did my hot stone massage. I'm not sure if I will be back for the services there and it's partly due to me being accustomed to having services done by professionals at spa's such as Burke Williams & Glenn Ivy. It is perfect for someone on a budget just be mindful that some students may not be able to give you the type of pressure you desire (more firm) if you desire. These students have fresh ideas and are being led by an experienced staff to hone their skills. I appreciate the input and tips I gain by being part of their process. I feel like the instructors know the skill level of each student and help them master each challenge (we all know hair is a challenge, that's why we pay people to help us!) and get to know the clients particular hot mess of hair that they bring them! Costs are lower than professional salons and who doesn't love THAT! Not every one is a diamond, but they're all gems! If something isn't right, speak up! they'll fix it! read more

Very disappointed went for a perm even showed photo of what I have had before, agreed to have up 3" taken off to get the kind perm I wanted and got nothing near what I wanted. Great place for relaxing massage ! Grace was my Theripist and she can give you the best massage out of all the Theripist there !! Unfortunately she goes on vacation a lot and isn't always there !! The rooms are very clean and well kept , how ever it can be noisy in the hallway , I don't think all the guest realize that session are going on !! Even other Theripist talk and laugh out loud, it can be annoying and disrupting to your time with Grace !! She has special talents that other Theripist don't offer .she's the best !! Pricing is great and affordable for all . I highly recommend Capri College for massage, ask for Grace !! read more

I had my hair bleached and cut and the student (Liz Howell, I think that is the correct last name) did a fabulous job. I had virgin med-light brown hair to my chin and the last few inches were a combo of ten years of box red, a year of box black and twice stripped. I left a nice sunny blonde (exact color I wanted) with only tidbits of orangeish at the ends. She did so well snipping out those orange bits while still keeping my hair long enough to tie back on hot days. I knew it would be challenging and she really did an awesome job. I could not have been more pleased!!! Time spent: about three hours, total price: $46 for cut and color plus I gave her a $10 tip...very reasonable. read more

I liked my hair when I went in but not when I came out. All I wanted was a trim, not three inches taken off! The student who cut my hair was afraid to take too much off so she ended up just snipping off about 1/4" off the ends. The instructor came over and chided her for being too afraid and took over. I ended up with a very choppy haircut. I was very disappointed. She said she was only cutting some long layers, which is how my hair was cut before. When I got home, I noticed how thin she left the ends and how uneven and poorly cut the layers were. When I went back to get it fixed by someone else, they commented how I used to have long hair. They tried to make it look better, but to really fix the damage, they probably would have had to cut it to right below my chin. Needless to say, I won't be going back there and can't recommend them based on this bad experience. read more

I went to Capri for a manicure. I did not have an appointment and was sat at a nail desk and left for over five minutes as I was asked to fill out a piece of paper which took all of 15 seconds. Despite how unorganized and slow the service was the quality of work was comical. The woman tried to remove my current shellac polish with normal remover then I told her she would need acetone. After the removal process the manicure consisted of cuticle cream put on your nails and having them pushed back.. NOT REMOVED with a wooden tool, a brief massage, and then polish. THATS it. my nails were all different lengths and they were not filed, they were not buffed the cuticles were all still shoved back not removed with clippers, and the polish job was hideous. The sides of my nails are not even painted. The worst part is the teacher came to inspect her work and said they looked really good. Not one thing was done there that I couldnt have done at home and in half the time and for free. They cant seriously continue offering manicures and charge people at that facility. read more

I have gotten my hair colored at Capri twice now. Just like any salon, everything depends on the student and instructor you work with. My first visit was amazing! I have never been treated to a more thorough consultation! We even went through different color selections on the student's iPad so a firm idea of what I expected could be gained. My student's name is Alexus V. The instructor was Chapman. The second visit was a completely different experience! The instructor this time talked around me most of the time, which I found to be very insulting. Alexus still managed to do a beautiful job with a new color scheme, but we overrode the instructor's input on at least one area. Then when I went to pay I was charged for 3 colors rather than the base and lowlights I had asked for. Apparently the instructor decided to add that color in without my input. Since then I went in for a pedicure with a very sweet young lady named Sarah. I was pleased with the foot massage and polish. The set up leaves something to be desired and I feel like $29 is steep for a student pedicure. I will be back to work with Alexus on my color and I WILL be requesting a certain supervising instructor! read more

So I went back today to get my fifty dollar app fee back as was promised to me by sarah in admissions. I was told that I didn't get it within three days after I was booted so I don't get it back. I was also told that it stated this in fine print at the top of the application. however, before I even filled out the application, she stated this, and these were her exact words, I am quoting here: "If you decide that you don't like it for whatever reason, if Capri isn't for you, you are only out a hundred dollars. You get the application fee back." She DID NOT say that I had to claim it three days after I leave. no where at no time did she state that. So why in the hell would I look for something like that on an APPLICATION??? poop on this place. I start at MTI tomorrow and couldn't be happier. read more

I am very happy with their service and product and will continue to go to Capri for all my hair needs.. I had an appointment for a Pedicure and Manicure. My first surprise came when I went to the nail area to discover there was no bowls to place feet in, but a plastic container. The water was room temperature and the container did not heat the water but merely buzzed slightly in an attempt to vibrate. When moving over to the manicure area, the equipment was broken and I was almost struck in the face a few times by an unwieldy lamp. To top it all off, the temperature was cool. When your pants are rolled up to your knees and you are already chilled by tepid water, you're a bit chilly in general. Unfortunately, the woes encountered do not end here. These were environmental issues that could have been put off as poor maintenance and upkeep into the school itself. The additional concerns are regarding the technician/student who provided service. This student advised she was graduating in three weeks and I do not know how that is possible. Two other individuals started receiving services after I did and yet were done before I was. The technician was so slow in everything she did, not to mention unorganized. Additionally, when she did my manicure, she failed to put polish on the sides of my nails, as if she were afraid to touch the ends. I am going to have to go somewhere else to get my nails redone. Application of color is not the only failure point. She used a metal tool to scrape off layers of my nail. I have been getting my nails done for years and have never had a technician go over the nail bed repeatedly scraping off nail, not cuticle, but nail. The last irritant to wrap up this dreadful evening was discovering that included in the price of the pedicure was a bottle of the nail polish color I selected. If I wanted to purchase a bottle of OPI, I would go to Ulta where they have a rewards program. What I hoped to be a relaxing evening, turned into an uncomfortable and costly mistake. What makes things even worse, is the staff knew I was displeased and didn't ask what they could have done to make my experience better or even if the technician did a satisfactory job. read more

Worst experience with nails in my life. Completely messed up and uneven and not the color I wanted. Then I called and complained they said "oh well it's a school that's why it's cheaper" I paid 20$ for a fill when I can go anywhere for 15$ for that's complete crap. Terrible customer service. Will never return. Seriously if your students are doing this bad of a job, they shouldn't be on the floor working with people and basically taking their money. This place has seriously gone downhill....spent 3 hours for a trim and reconditioner, we actually left with half trimmed hair, because the students did not get the help they needed from instructors. My kids hair looked drier and more tangled than before they started. Will never use Capri again. read more
