The studio is also really nice, there are several areas for parents to stay and relax while the kids are in class if they choose to stay, and even space for siblings to hang out if they tag along. I did on a month-long unlimited, pass at a silent auction, and happily won that prize. I wanted to maximize my win, so I ended up taking a lot of classes that DanceWorks offers. Here are my thoughts: Cardio Hip hop: great for any and every level dancer. Exercise focused. K-pop: be prepared to pick up choreography, and two sequential Wednesday classes equates to one whole K-pop song routine. SWERK: picture Zumba with Twerking. Exercise focused. Great for any and every level. Ballet for absolute beginners: a very simplified, slow, basic educational course. Required for taking beginner ballet. Beginner ballet: ballet for absolute beginners will not teach you everything you need to know for this class. I'm not sure there is any way to be ready for this class. Just know you are going to feel very left behind, and sort of like an idiot for a few classes until you can catch up. But who cares? Unfortunately, I got walking pneumonia after taking all those classes, so I wasn't able to try everything they offered. However, I'd say Cardio Hip Hop was my favorite!

I have heard some of the other classes are not necessarily a great workout since you spend most of the time learning choreo, but this class was basically Zumba. The instructor, Jill, was very high energy and welcoming--give that lady a raise! The facilities felt a little outdated, but I think it's a great value if you are a regular member for the $125/month for unlimited classes.

It has built her confidence by giving her accomplishments that she can show us. They have found her strengths and let her be strong with them. They have found her weaknesses and made them better and taught her not to be afraid of them. This last weekend (early November), there was a two hour free dance night in exchange for a good drive. My son went to the free night with my daughter. He didn't really want to go, but when we showed up to watch what he learned, my son was excited and had a great time. When he left, he was hugging the instructors and telling them thank you. I can say that it can seem hectic when it is time to drop off and pick up. It is a busy place with a small-medium waiting area. But, I will also say that once you come here, you'll learn the rhythm and realize that there is an order to it all. Line dancing is a great way to have fun and burn some serious calories. The owner of the studio, Karsia is an absolute sweetheart incredibly who is passionate about dancing and also giving back to the community. Volume Performance Center offers classes for all ages. They have dance class for children as young as 4. During my class the young girls from a dance came to peek in our class. So adorable! I plan to check out the Monday Pound classes in the future. Karsia recently received her certification to teach Piloxing Barre. I'm all for finding a way to shed some pounds from my amazing Yelp adventures! After growing up with intense dance instruction at other studios, Sho'Time is a breath of fresh air. There are hip hop, body sculpt, barre, and dance fusion classes- I honestly love all of them. I'm sore after each one! Sho always plays great, new music and is constantly teaching new moves and awesome choreography.
