I finally found Scott Mitchell law inc and his team he is affordable he breaks payments down every three months 2,500 of course it also depends on your case. I would have safe so much money from the beginning back in 2021 if I would have hired him. Also he does free consultations. Taylor and scott will answer your emails, phone calls . No hiding fees it's all on your contract. Just be clear on what it is that you would like the outcome to be just know that there is times won cases and lost cases but him and his team are good at what they do. I was given outdated advice by Scott Mitchell which has resulted in a temporary loss of primary custody of my son, resulting in an upheaval of his life and our family's life. I am beyond disappointed and wish I could take legal action. Unfortunately, Mr Mitchell told me I didn't even need his services, my case was so solid. I didn't even hire him. I have lost primary custody of my son due to a technicality that Mr. Mitchell neglected to inform me of, either due to his own incompetence as a family law attorney or just plain carelessness. Worst Law Firm ever and would not let them represent me in a parking ticket, I was billed for divorce which ended up with the same results as if I never hired them I signed the paperwork just to be done with the divorce after they promised certain things and that bills would be paid every time I spoke with them they knew nothing of the case they never requested Discovery or evidence that would prove I was doing money And when the money was gone they wanted more money to research and understand the case I would have got exactly the same results without ever hiring these people to represent me Whenever I called to ask a question or what was going on I was billed for 20 minutes my questions were never answered my calls were never returned My divorce has been final for over 40 days now and I still was never sent a copy of the final divorce decree I had to go to court to get a copy of it myself I paid them money that they claim they never received and then they billed me for and I had to turn around and produce receipts to prove that they were paid This is a totally unorganized and unprofessional and I would highly recommend against them read more

My husband and I paid for Mr Mitchell's law firm to do our Bancruptsy. A few years after the Bancruptsy was discharged in our favor, we continue to get calls from two creditors stating they were never given any information about the bankruptcy which led to them not having a chance to go to court and fight the bankruptcy if they wanted to. Fortunately for us they didn't find it and excepted our bankruptcy but it took a lot of effort on my part. Also another creditor put a lien against us through the IRS and when I called Mr. Mitchell's office to talk about it I was told that I was a liar the IRS would never do such a thing and that I was acting like a child however I had the proof of the letter! I wasn't acting like a child I was acting like somebody who was frustrated and scared. I would never recommend this firm. read more

Someone made a mistake on my wife's case but to be fair they did not charge us and prepared papers for us for free. They do have good prices and are easy to get setup with. When someone is able to admit they were wrong and make good on the situation it really says a lot about them. If you enjoy having your phone calls never returned ,if you enjoy wondering what's next in your case, if you enjoy getting a surprise bill for something that has nothing to do with the services you require. Stay away he is cheap to get you in and then they will bill you and if you don't pay they will sue you for it. I was billed for a court appearance that never existed. I retained Scott Mitchell for a custody case for my daughter. When we first sat with him he seemed to be very interested and willing to fight for us. However as the time went on we got the feeling he wasn't that interested in fighting for us and we even asked him during one visit if he was still interested in having us retain him. My daughter had a second court date where we sat in the court room and he wasn't in attendance. The judge called my daughters name and at that time did a gentlemen stand up and introduce himself as the attorney representing her that day as Mr. Mitchell wasn't available. That was very unprofessional in my opinion. A heads up explaining that Mr. Mitchell wouldn't be attending would have been appropriate. The third court appearance with this assistant attorney was a real mess as he told the judge he wasn't prepared because he didn't realize the court date was that day and not all documentation was filed properly. The judge was not happy with him to say the least. My daughter retained custody of her children but her child support was highly reduced because of this attorney not being prepared. After the court date the attorney sent an email to my daughter giving his opinion on how she should live her life. He recommended she go back on welfare so that the child support be increased at a later date and other recommendations which were not in her best interest. The office then charged us $50 for this written email. I highly recommend you do your homework when selecting an attorney. read more

Garbage! Never in my life have I experience such HORRIBLE unorganized staff, Scott Mitchell himself was very nice and informative however his staff is pure garbage. When you pay your "retainer" they use any and every reason to deplete the amount in your account and charge you more. I did all the work, we literally we robbed by this firm. I put in countless hours as a paralegal should and got all the answers myself, I filled out all the documents and petitions, but because we sadly hired them we ended up having to pay for prep for things that they didn't spend time on they just had to copy and paste!!!!! Funny how I am reading these other reviews and when we had obtained this firm there were positive reviews so we chose them, yet now there is NOTHING but horrible reviews and I know why. Think about this anyone can get on the computer go on YELP and write the review... It's making curious as to who actually wrote those positive reviews..... This firm ended up charging us well into the thousands for something that we had prepared ourselves for 100% and could have done without them. NEVER again will I hire them or recommend them to ANYONE EVER. I hope this helps you... PLEASE DO NOT HIRE THIS FIRM THEY ROB YOU!!!!!!!!! (many hidden fees and charges, over $100 for copies seriously, for the "hours" the claim to put it, you are a FIRM and since the papers you copied from us weren't double sided Im sure you have a copy machine that doesn't need to be fed 1 paper at a time. This was the worst experience I've ever had in my life.. They gave me a attorney by the name of Doug that just seems like a money grubber. When it was time for things to go down in the courtroom Doug had done nothing in my favor at all. I asked if I should have the judge make a decision and Doug had told me no. It turns out if I would have asked the judge to make a decision I probably would've spent the nine thousand dollars that I've had to go through now. Now a child suffering mental depression stuck in a bad position as the courts take their time for the past several months to make the right decision. I called up the office to make a complaint and the supervisor told me they are not equipped to go up against court mediator recommendations which were very poor recommendations. I feel they should advertise themselves as paralegals and not family law attorneys. So it seems they helped me lose more than win. Another time he popped up in the courtroom for economic hearing.. Things that he could have had done for me on paper he told me to wait till the divorce hearing comes which was totally wrong.. I feel he delayed in doing his job thinking that I have to come back to him and use their office so they can make money off me over and over again. Whoever answers the phone is extremely rude. I called recently to set up a consult not knowing i had been in YEARS ago for one. I did not recognize the name as i was just googling family law attorneys in Modesto. I was told by the woman who answered that scott would not see me for a free consult because he has schooling to pay for and cannot give out free advice if i don't plan on hiring him. I informed her that i did plan to obtain a lawyer (which was the point of the consult). The only reason i did not obtain him when i saw him years ago was because he told me i did not need to for what i was trying to do which i gladly informed her. Do not act like people are trying to waste his time and get free legal advice which is not the case. I completely agree that lawyers should be compensated for their time. Scott was very professional and nice when i did see him as far as i can remember. Office staff however is totally unprofessional and rude.
