We drove the 4 hours there with everything splinted and it was beyond horrible. The second he walked in and saw me crying he very compassionately told me it would all be ok, that he would admit me into the hospital to regulate the pain and monitor the baby and that he would do the surgery the next day, Christmas Eve. He did an amazing job and him and his staff have been so great thru my recovery. It's been a long process but I couldn't ask for better care.

He gave wrong information by talking about doing surgery on my 16 year…read moreold's shoulder bone that has not yet fully developed because he was concerned it had not fused together and then realized that it does not fuse together until between the age of 18-21. He told us that the MRI was consistent with a slap tear, but MRI's are not reliable, he ignored the pain in her shoulder that is consistent with a slap tear and he kept focusing on the bone that was not yet fused together (because it was not supposed to be yet!). That was on top of going in the hall to answer his phone in the middle of examining. His phone rang a good five times during the exam and each time he took his phone out to see who was calling. Then he insinuated that the pain in my daughter's shoulder was because the car accident was not her fault and we just want money from the insurance company. I would NEVER recommend this doctor to anyone.

The wait to see the doctor is consistently long, and sitting in the exam room gave me a little too much opportunity to notice all the things around the office that could use some updating and repair. I probably wouldn't have paid much attention if the wait were shorter, but here we are. I can personally recommend Dr. Hoopes and Dr. Innes. If you need a solid orthopedic practice in the area and you're willing to be patient, this is a good option.

It is definitely older and in need of some slight renovations and carpet, but the true quality is in the staff. The receptionists are always kind and non-judgmental. Dr. Richard Jackson was the sweetest and kindest and performed my surgeries well. Dr. Kirt Kimball is indeed arrogant, although I knew that going in and pleasantly discovered he was not condescending (which is my worry for any cocky doctor). We hit it off great and I believe we parted with mutual respect for each other. I trust his opinion since he is also on the surgical team for the BYU athletes and my injuries are due to hard physical activity.
