(Must be rough having a job that requires you to push a few buttons and put out some stock.) I told her I had a 20% off coupon but it wouldn't load on my phone due to their lack of cell signal. She just looked at me. Then when I had cashed out I saw the sign that says "text this number and get a 20% coupon now" and mentioned it to her and once again she ignored me. I'll probably shop online or stick to target from now on. I only stayed here because I had a gift card.

I would not recommend A Step Above Construction and Demolition LLC or Kaleel Gary, who performed…read morethe work at my home, based on my personal experience with the quality of the work and how the situation was handled afterward. I hired Kaleel to repair/re-tile my shower floor. After the work was completed, I discovered multiple issues, including cracking around the stones, holes/gaps in the shower floor where I was concerned water could seep underneath, grout that had not been properly cleaned up or smoothed out, uneven areas, and issues with the slope toward the drain. I contacted Kaleel and gave him the opportunity to come back and inspect the problems. When he returned, he removed two stones from the shower floor to investigate what was happening underneath. The stones were left removed, and between that and the other issues with the floor, our shower is currently unusable until it is properly repaired. During the second half of the original job, Kaleel also brought his young child with him while working in my home. I understand that unexpected situations can arise, but this was not something I expected when paying for professional construction work. After seeing the problems, Kaleel ultimately agreed to refund me. He made a partial refund through Cash App and then gave me a signed check for the remaining $878, with "Shower Floor refund" written in the memo. I deposited the $878 check, and my bank subsequently notified me that it had been returned unpaid due to a STOP PAYMENT. I contacted Kaleel again in an attempt to resolve the outstanding refund. Since then, I have been unable to resolve the matter with him and the $878 remains unpaid. I made multiple attempts to handle this privately before posting reviews. I gave him the opportunity to inspect and address the workmanship issues and attempted to resolve the refund directly. I have retained photos of the shower floor, our communications, payment and refund records, a copy of the signed $878 "Shower Floor refund" check, and my bank's documentation showing that the check was returned unpaid due to a stop payment. I am sharing my personal experience so other homeowners can make their own informed decision before hiring A Step Above Construction and Demolition LLC or Kaleel Gary. If the outstanding $878 is paid and this situation is resolved, I will update this review accordingly.
