In 2017 a deer hit the right front fender area on my car so I was able to drive it to this body…read moreshop. They provided an estimate for our insrance and did the repair work. We were satisfied with the work. However a few years later we need to change a dead battery which is located in the damage area. We could not remove the plastice piece holding down the battery since the screw was just turning. This body shop had glued the plastic battery tray holding the tapped metal block for the screw. Their repair failed to hold the metal block from turning so the screw turned too! They don't know how to do mechanic work!

I had both body work damage and mechanical damage. They told my insurance company that they thought my transmission fluid was low and its a high millage car, that basically the mechanical issues were a result of me not maintaining my vehicle. There were no lights on my dash indicating anything was wrong with it before or after the accident. They decided to hook up a reader and received a code for the CAT converter. Because a body shop tried to diagnose what a mechanic should have looked at, my insurance decides that my mechanical issues were not a result of the accident and will not cover getting the rest of my car fixed. I find this impossible considering the car will not go over 34 mpg and I was traveling at 70 mph when I got hit, if my CAT was broken before the accident there is no way I would have been able to drive it as my everyday car on the interstate back and forth to work. I regularly got my oil changes, never had any major issues with my Honda. I argue the fact that it happened during the accident so the body shop took it to their 3rd party mechanic. They then proceeded to send a note to my insurance company stating that my car was missing and because I drove it like that, the CAT failed. Never said if it could have been due to the accident or not, just listed what was wrong with it. I asked to take it to my mechanic to have them take a look (even though Im sure they have me written off at this point). I towed my car to my mechanic out of pocket, when my car gets there I see 3 new chips in my car on the other side of where I got hit, the paint doesnt match 100%, my hood is not aligned and still has dents in it. I didnt see this till we got to my mechanics place because my car was behind the building when the tow truck came, I didnt get a chance to look the car over before leaving. I understand that now that I took the vehicle off their property it's now a case of he said, she said and I feel like I got taken for a long hard ride from all parties involved. I can deal with the small impurities of the body work, to me it's not worth dealing with them again. I'm writing this review because I'm irate at the fact my insurance will not cover my mechanical issues all because of an opinion from a body shop, a place that doesnt do mechanical work. They can reply with whatever smart words/rebuttals that they want to make themselves look better but the fact is there is no way I could have been going 70mph on the interstate when I got hit by the tire if my car was missing that bad or if my CAT was junk. There is however a possibility that the damage to my CAT was a result of me driving the car after the accident, not knowing something was wrong mechanically until it started to show signs of an issue the next day. Driving it to the shop to get the estimate, going home and then driving it again to get it back to the body shop for repair is what did the damage.
