Unfortunately didn't have a good experience. Customer service was very disappointing. Perhaps they were understaffed.

Excellent flat white, great food. The barristas in New Zealand are a pleasure to talk to.

For my 5yo twins, they've enjoyed burgers from here since they were still being prammed around the city. Notably, there's ample room in the restaurant to fit a large pram, and there are large tables for large parties. Fight night (or afternoon, as the case may be) is always an interesting time to come to LT. It usually draws quite a crowd. So, if you're not into fight nights or crowds, call before you arrive. Plus, they're willing to book a table for you if you do call. When we first moved to Hamilton in 2016, LT had some growing pains. Like another reviewer said, they'd run out of staple food items on their menu. That seems to have been corrected over the years and ticking along very nicely. Have a go!

I was a bit torn about giving this place a four or a three star rating. This is one of the new…read morerestaurants being offered after the extensive Sky City renovations. I came here for lunch with only my husband and we sat at one of the high-top tables out front. What I do really like here is the atmosphere. It has a comfortable but upscale brew house decor. The seating outside is good for people watching along Victoria Street. I had a glass of the blueberry gose, which was described to me as a sour wheat beer. I really liked it. My husband isn't a great fan of the Good George brews, so he had one of the non-house beers. If I was just rating my beer and the atmosphere, I would have given this place a four star rating. Then we get to the food. The server told us they were out of mussels and prawns. This took 3-4 options off the menu from the start. Not a great start (especially since the mussels were a big part of their advertised menu). I ended up having the chicken sandwich (added on fries) and my husband had the braised beef sandwich. The portion of add on fries was quite substantial, but they suffered a bit by looking a lot better than they tasted. I pretty much always finish up my fries but I left maybe half; they were just not that exciting. My sandwich was fine. A good portion and I did finish it, but it wasn't particularly exciting. My husband's sandwich was worse. I tasted it and the beef was really dry (how does this happen with something that should be braised?!). So, I'd definitely recommend this place for drinks with friends, probably not so much a place for kids and if your hopes aren't too high about the food then you'll have a great time.

My steak meal had a piece of plastic in it, which I can live with but mentioned it at the counter anyway. I wasnt trying to get a discount but the girl told me the price I handed her the money and after I mentioned the plastic she said she would let the manager know and he come over and offered me a discount, the girl then gives me back my change which was less than I expected so I asked for the receipt. She then had to get the manager to come back and do a reprint of the receipt and I said the bill went up not down and straight away he said oh you didnt order wine did you? And I said no especially not in the few minutes i have stood here. He didnt realise the girl had already given me the total before he was called over to do the discount. He had knocked off $6 discount but then added a $10 glass of wine. Definitely check your receipt here! All the food had a ridiculous amont of parsley sprinkled on it. The restaurant was freezing cold aswel as the last time we come. I am glad we had jerseys with us.

When I go to Urge (and this is quite often!), I usually order eggs benedict with bacon or salmon. Compared with other establishments in Hamilton, Urge stands apart from them all. Here's why: the hollandaise is made on sight every morning by the cafe owners. Hollandaise at other cafes are usually too thick or too soupy to be edible. Urge's hollandaise is perfection! Having travelled the world and having frequented cafes in London, New York, San Francisco, Singapore, etc, etc, I can say that Urge stands up with the best! Besides that they offer a wonderful breakfast, they also have amazing coffee and an incredibly large selection of teas. The coffee is never burnt (it's very common in New Zealand and in Hamilton especially for baristas to burn the coffee), is the correct mix of milk if you want a latte or a flat white (there is a difference, and that difference is lost on most baristas in New Zealand!), and is hot (again and weirdly, New Zealand baristas prefer to serve cold coffee!). As for tea, you may ask for anything and they will serve it to you. I found this stunning because usually tea shops prefer not to serve something in-house from one of their loose leaf tins. Granted, I neither instruct food & beverage classes nor do I have a tizzy because my eggs benedict weren't served centred on my plate. So, maybe you'll just have to check out Urge on your own and get disappointed by the stellar service and delicious eats. Have a go!

I got a medium roast in a glass w/ skim milk, and they added 1 teaspoon of organic sugar and it made my mouth sing! WaAaAaA. Also, the staff was extremely friendly and talkative. Knew the regulars by name when they walked in, and asked if they wanted the usual. Yes, this is the best cup of joe I had in the land of the Kiwi. Highly recommended.
