Hotel: Pretty decent, nothing special but not bad at all. WiFi worked. Front desk folks were friendly. About $70 for a two bed room. 4/5 stars. Restaurant: We came here for dinner and while I forget exactly what the dish was called it was a spaghetti in a nice light sauce with chicken and garlic bread, along with some soup. We also came in the morning (they include a coupon for a "free continental breakfast" or 10% off any food). The free continental breakfast isn't really a whole breakfast... you can pick two items. Our coffee was fine, my muffin was pretty good, and my friends toast was apparently fine. But calling that a breakfast is pushing it... we went for the Easter turkey dinner and found the stuffing to be dry and very salty. They said they give both white and dark meat only got tough dark meat and we were there right at 5 PM for first serving. on the whole it was a very disappointing meal for $25.00. read more

Retro 50's style hotel with a restaraunt connected to it in the Valleyview area in "the loops" Clean diner that seats about 20ish with averagre decor with a small patio that has a nice little water piece next to it (make sure kids dont splash in the water) Service is great and very attentive as the waitress works by herself a lot and meets everyones needs perfectly even when it's a packed diner at lunch and dinner. Food is home cooked and makes me feel like I'm eating at my moms. daily lunch and dinner specials change daily so it's nice to see what they have for the day and dessert is also included with the specials (usually pie or crumble) I recommend the chicken strips & fries, club house, fish & chips, BLT, and pork chops. Although this was an older establishment it was clean and the people who worked there were courteous and helpful. This was our first trip to Canada and we needed a little guidance of where to eat and information about the town of Kamloops. The staff was very helpful and gave us many suggestions of where to eat and visit. THe restaurant was convenient but not the best but it did serve our purpose. We would definitely stay here again if we are in Kamloops again. The price was very reasonable and the location was convenient. A short walk to downtown takes you where you need to be for food, beverage, and fun. read more

We were so excited to finally get here after 5 hours of driving from Jasper...we had camped the night before and it was super cold. So we were looking forward to the pool and hot tub...really looking forward. Unfortunately, when we arrived, there had been a glitch of some sort online and there wasn't a room for us anymore! As we were trying to sort out what was going on and where we were going to stay the night, the staff was very accommodating and opened the pool and hot tub so that the childrencan relax and play as that was what they were really looking forward to. The jets in the hot tub was very soothing and the pool was normal temperature. I ordered the pork schnitzel. He came out to the table really quick yet somehow it was ice cold. I asked the waitress to take it back and have them warm it up for me. After 10 minutes I flag down the waitress and ask where is my food? She had no idea what I was talking about it was still in the microwave! What if I did come to the table I have to admit the vegetables in the mashed potatoes were just fine the gravy though obviously out of a package was also just fine! But the Schnitzel had been deep-fried for so long that the breading tasted burnt! I was a chef for 35 years and I would have fired anyone who was that stupid that work in my kitchen!!!! It was truly one of the worst meals I've ever had and that's saying something cuz I've had some pretty piss-poor meals! So the waitress offered me a free dessert to make up for the troubles which was nice and then when she brought my bill that wasn't my bill it was somebody else's bill so after 5 minutes of trying to track her down she finally came by at which time I told her I had the wrong bill so she took it and disappeared again! OMG could things get any worse? Yeah they can I paid $30 for this BS with my glass of milk the milk was good! This is not a place worth visiting ever! The crust don't care the service is poor and really just just go somewhere else!!! I drove into Kamloops from Edmonton goodnight! 13 hours on the road and all I wanted was a nice meal something simple coming home style! Frightening lack of concern for Covid standards! I was there with my disabled mother, aunt and her husband. Seating was arranged so that my mother was across from my uncle, not 3 feet away. Staff were entirely unmasked, and did not maintain physical distancing to any extent. At one point the server asked if I wanted my plate taken, leaning in over it and breathing heavily on the plate from about 2 feet away. It made me exceptionally uncomfortable about finishing my lunch. I suspect she was deliberately extra close because I was wearing a mask when moving about, the only one in the restaurant. Add to that mediocre food, and I can assure you we will not be coming back. This restaurant is best avoided. read more

Short story: Stay here. You'll get a very clean room with a single queen bed with kitchenette, free continental breakfast, or 10% off a hot breakfast, nice pool and hot tub and air conditioning for $114 taxes in. Longer story: We are on vacation and passing through Kamloops on our way to Victoria. Kamloops is a nice halfway point, so we stopped at the Scott's Inn for the first time. I guess the easiest way to read this is point form, so here it goes. Pros: - nice staff - restaurant on site (we didn't eat there though since we had a kitchenette) - pool and hot tub - large patio area - huge kids park across the street (there are no issues with noise. We couldn't hear a thing) - LCD TV with Shaw cable - kitchenette (coffee maker, fridge and microwave) - close to the river (its a beautiful walk, although beware, there's heaps of old people down there.) - air conditioning - close to Hwy 1 - very comfy bed and pillows - reasonably priced ($114 including taxes) Cons: - A/C is a little loud - I'm sitting in the room looking for cons, but its honestly a really nice room. I would totally stay here again and I would recommend this place to friends and family. read more

I stayed here years ago with my parents ... and thought it was quite ok -- but I recently stayed again -- and I wasn't impressed!!!!! We were in the back of the motel -- dark, dingy, pretty low budget!!! We did get a coffee and a muffin in the morning -- that was really good. The best part of the stay !! My husband and I actually forgot our pillows in the hotel room -- so I rang the next day to see if I could have them sent to me in Vancouver. The person I spoke to immediately told me "no" the pillows were not there -- so I insisted on speaking to the maid or the manager about this, as I know we left them there... as soon as I was insistant -- suddenly the lady told me that she had found them!!! Then I had to deal with the female manager -- to have them sent -- wow !! she was a real treat to deal with!?!? Yikes!!! Very unpleasant!! I mean , she did manage to get the pillow to the Greyhound station and we got them -- but either the two separate times I spoke to her -- she was having the worst day ever!!! Or she is just a mean person -- the way she spoke(or I should say -- yelled at me was out of control) either way -- we will never stay there again. read more

We went to this hell hole this morning and first of all we walk into the place and we wait to be seated there are serving staff walking around the saw us waiting by the door and no one greets us for 5 minutes then they seat us at a dirty table don't clean it or wipe it down for at least 5 minutes then they came and took our order after waiting for 10 additional minutes they tell is it will be 20 minutes the cook is behind we say that is fine we wait 40 minutes we say something because everyone at least 4 other tables that came in after us were served before us one table came in 20 minutes or so after us was already eating we left!! We went to Dennys down the street do yourself a favour and go somewhere else!!! Worst service ever oh but they comped our coffee read more

Scott's is always good! They had a busy day today. We showed up around 11 and it was pretty packed. The waitresses were very friendly and the food was delicious. Another customer in the restaurant was full of complaints and treated the waitress terribly, even though she did everything she could to make them happy. People need to realize when restaurants are busy and there's only a couple staff that nothing can be instant. I hope she realizes he was the odd one out and everyone else at the restaurant was happy with the atmosphere, service and food! Oh, and Scott's is very well priced. We rarely stay in motels so at first the price of $110 for a standard room with two queen beds seemed high. I now understand that's about average. The room was spotless, well decorated and roomy. Beds were very comfortable. There is a pool and a hot tub but we didn't use them. The hotel offers free continental breakfast in the attached restaurant, very sufficient, or 10% the regular menu. We had brunch and it was fresh and tasty. Our only criticism is the fact that the hotel room windows do not open and the room was stuffy. Air conditioner had a mind of its own. read more

The basic rooms are decently appointed with flat-screen TV, fridge, coffee maker, etc. They're also clean, reasonably roomy, and quiet. The location's convenient for going downtown and getting back on the highway. The staff are helpful and courteous, too. The restaurant serves good-quality comfort food in generous portions. I'm not sure if it was an ' off ' day , or maybe it was me, but the Greek Salad just wasn't all that great, I think it needs better dressing. Pita bread was good, and the dip was good. Needed a place to stay on a road trip from Alberta to BC, so I booked a room at Scott's. The room was clean with recent renovations. Minor problem with the table in the room being a bit wobbly and the closet space is a bit small compared to other hotels I've been to. Breakfast at Scott's Restaurant next morning was good - the hotel offered a discount for the hot breakfast, and it was well prepared with generous portions. A short but very pleasant stay, I'll definitely consider Scott's again next time I'm in Kamloops! read more

Food Above par, as close to a "diner" as you can get in Kamloops. The portions are large, prices fair to below expected. Under $6 breakfast weekdays. Friday, Sat & Sun is all about the homemade hollandaise is really some of the best I have had lifetime (Including living in San Francisco) and the specials are always changing. Service One waitress in Particular makes the whole place for me. A good diner always has that one maybe two stand out individuals, Scotts is no different. Terri, high five to you ! $2.95 pie and coffee is a great deal! They get their pies from Superstore, which are good pies, but they serve it hot with a smile. I'd rather have a slice of homemade pie, but I really don't mind the grocery store pie. read more
