After lunch in Amarillo, someone told me this bakery next door won the national TV show competition "Cup Cake Wars"...so you know I had to try them! Upon entering, the friendly girl at the counter was occupied, and one of the bakers and possibly owners came out to take care of me so I wouldn't have to wait! Talk about awesome customer service. Plenty of poptarts, cupcakes, etc. to pick from. I chose the Very Berry Strawberry and Snickers Cupcake. I do t want to embellish or over do it... but I'm not kidding when I say these may be the best 2 d@@n cupcakes I have ever had!!! They explode with flavor in your mouth. The strawberry was vivid, the sweet but not overly sweet, the cake and the cream were extremely creamy and moist! The Snickers cupcakes.... Jesus took the wheel on this one, lol. It's insanely good. Little sweeter than the Strawberry but so tasty! The frosting again was perfect in consistency. The flavor of caramel, Snickers, and I think a little peanut butter absolutely lights up your taste buds!!!! They only take walk ins on Saturday. We showed up during the week after roadtrippers app suggested it. The owner was so nice but informed us she really didn't have anything to sell us except macaroons..... we bought half a dozen and let me tell you we were not disappointed! I was in town for business and stumbled upon this place via Yelp. I ordered the Strawberry Lemonade Waffles, Eggs scrambled with cheese, bacon, green Chile hashbrown casserole, and jalapeño cheddar biscuit. The food was spot on! They do change their menu often. So you might not see the strawberry lemonade waffle when you visit but I promise it is worth it. They also have a bakery up front that serves many types of baked goods from giant cinnamon roles to cookies, blondies, brownies and macaroons! Not to mention FREE MIMOSAS!!! I went on a Tuesday at 10:30am. I was the only person there for at least the first hour. It is a cute little place. Im sure there will be a wait during more popular times such as Saturdays and Sundays because seating is VERY limited. It looks like they are expanding so that won't be an issue much longer. I went there knowing that they're the winner of cupcake war, comes to find out they serve breakfast as well. I picked half a dozen of cupcakes, the staff was very helpful and courteous. The cupcakes are on the smaller size and I started with the strawberry one and it was was so sweeeet... it was filled with jam as well so that made it even sweeter. Found them thru an internet search for Pecan Sticky Buns. I visited their shop and found them very cordial and friendly. I was informed that I was the only one to request the buns and that they don't carry them due to low demand. Now I thought we were in Texas with a pension for Pecan Pie, but folks you are missing out on a great breakfast treat. My special order was prepared fabulously, soft and gooey and loaded with pecans. We are passing through Amarillo and found this bakery on Yelp. We had the Big A** Cinnamon Roll warmed up with the works (the cream cheese icing and browned butter icing with caramel and pecans). The two women who waited on us were very friendly and we could tell that they love what they do and are proud of their baked goods. There was a case with many different and beautiful cupcakes and another with a variety of cookies (including some St Patrick's Day sugar cookie cutouts with buttercream icing, also delish!) and pretty macarons. I came for brunch last week. I came later in the mid day but still got seated and had great service. The coffee was great- took one to go. The standard for brunch/breakfast is good coffee and good biscuits and gravy. Scratch did not dissapoint in either area. Fluffy jalapeño biscuits, exceptional gravy and the coffee- I am a bit of a coffee snob, so I was happy they coffee was fresh and not bitter. Definitely a recommend for brunch. No lunch on weekdays but I had a lovely conversation with one of the owners and got some goodies to eat for dessert. It's a beautiful little bakery shop with wonderful vibes. Update: I remembered how good this place was so when I found myself back in Amarillo 3 months later I made sure to stop by & sample their goods again. One thing I love about this place is it they use good ingredients and make things that are top quality so when you sit down to eat you can really savor it. It was a Friday when I came in. I nibbled on a cupcake while I chatted with the employee working the counter. I found out they take reservations for lunch so I put my name down for the next day and came back to try there non-dessert foods. I got the Boats and Hueves. Again, the quality was there. Slices of bread with holes cut out and eggs cooked in the middle with a side of fruit and two pieces of bacon. It was good but I'm not sure it measured up to a $10 price and it was one of the less expensive items on the menu. I appreciate a place that makes good food, I just don't think breakfast should be an expensive meal. This was a splurge for me and I'm glad I came but I probably wouldn't come back for breakfast, just pastries. This restaurant has a lot of personality. The ladies that run this place are nice and attentive. In their display case, they have a variety of goodies (macaroons, cinnamon rolls, festive cookies, cupcakes etc.) Everything looks so tempting & delicious; you just want to take it all home. Every Saturday they have a Brunch between 10am-2pm (check out their Facebook, it is highly recommended you make a reservation) and every so often there is a Brunken, which starts at 10pm till they sell out. I wanted hot water and even though they don't have it out for their customers they did accommodate me, I love how they make all their customers happy! At the self-serve drink bar, there are free Mimosas, filtered water and $2 bottomless coffee. PRO - There are a few gluten free options, just ask the servers - Easy to read menu - To-go orders CON - It is difficult to find parking, they have limited street parking in front of the restaurant; when it's full patrons go across the street to the OHMS parking lot, not sure if it's legal to park there - be careful don't get hurt with on coming traffic. The food here was good enough, standard brunch fare. The homemade pop tarts and cinnamon rolls were incredible. The timing was terrible. We called in advance to see if there was a long wait for food, and we were told no. From ordering our food to actually eating, it was a solid 45 minute wait (after waiting a bit to order) and when I asked how long it would take (25 minutes in), they could not tell me. The gal only said "it's a very small kitchen and everything is cooked to order." This is information that I would have preferred to have when I called in. We were driving from Amarillo to Denver and eating here added an extra hour (on top of what we expected to spend eating) to our drive time. Additionally, when they served us they had no idea what went where and gave us someone else's food. My advice to the manager is that their floor space is too big for what their kitchen can support, and they should either only serve the small side of the restaurant or expand their kitchen. I've been in much smaller, much busier breakfast eateries with hot food on the table in half the time. read more

My daughter and I came down on a Friday morning to try the brunch menu. I got the Eggs Benny and she got the Biscuits and Gravy, they were delicious and very satisfying.
