Some people were gathering near the entrance for a party in the picnic area, while the main part of the park requested no celebrations out of respect for the history. It is a good subject to learn about, but the amount of stuff there versus the distance that you'd have to drive from any metropolitan area wasn't huge.

In addition to rehabbing various birds of prey brought to them by the public and elsewhere, the Center puts on local and regional educational programs which are fun, family-friendly, photo-op-filled affairs. The highly recommended "Football, Fans and Feathers" program occurs Fridays before home games and for a mere $5, you can learn about and meet several resident birds including owls, vultures, hawks, and the famous eagles who fly before Auburn football games. These truly are beautiful and magnificent birds. Sometimes it can get way crowded, so be sure to get there early!

We took our pontoon boat in for a maintenance service and one thing we specifically requested was…read morethat the gas tank be drained as it had very old gas in it. This was plainly written on the service form. When we picked up the boat, we did not look over the form until we were closer to the boat ramp. There was no indication that the gas had been drained so we called back and were told that they had tested the gas and it was fine. We did not really care about the test--we wanted the gas drained. This was the one specific thing we requested and the request was ignored. They said it saved us money--not the point. Not happy ---dissatisfied customer.

You could white-glove test the floor in this place and not find a solitary dust mote. The bathrooms (or the men's, at least...didn't hazard the ladies' room) are also spotless. Be aware that if you reserve a boat in advance and the weather is adverse on your rental day, you won't be taking the boat out onto the water. I defer to the staff on this, because they know better than occasional visitors how conditions are and can change on the lake.

It was both educational and much fun. They may have the largest selection of machine guns available to fire. His right hand Wade was a great instructor in how to use a hand gun. I also really liked how reservations are not required for regularly scheduled classes which makes it convenient for people just wanting to check out Yogafly and out-of-towners such as myself. Just show up a little early to pay and sign a waiver. Classes are $15 each but there are various packages available. The studio space is one big rectangle, with props and a desk at the front, and a bathroom and a piano at the back. The ceiling was painted a soothing shade of turquoise. The space itself is amazing, but the real gift is Peach. Her teaching is excellent, and she has truly created a yoga community in the city of Auburn. She's knowledgable, approachable, and very intelligent in how she can simplify some intimidating things and make them available to students of all levels. On top of that, she leads a wonderful teacher training and knows how to hire responsible and knowledgable teachers. Peach's background and training are impressive and it shows in every class she teaches. Whether you're a long time practitioner or a first timer, this is a teacher you will absolutely learn from. There is no other Peach!!!
