Nothing as irritating as tipping well for piercings and then getting snide comments from the piercer when I have issues and call for help. I have 12 piercings. I know what I'm doing. 3 out of 3 piercings that I got here fell out bc the jewelry they gave me was either not good quality or not put in correctly. And when I call to ask them to replace a singular stud, they just tell me "things aren't free, sorry!" so I guess the first time I just paid for my ear to bleed. Cool. I should have known that cheap piercings mean cheap work and a cheap experience. Next time I'll pay more for a quality job and quality service. read more

Not worth going here even for the cheap prices. I got 5 piercings here, 3/5 of them rejected due to incorrect advice and they pierced my bridge despite me not having the anatomy for it (they didn't inform me on that, I had to see a better piercer that informed me). Their jewelry is also horrible quality, the 2 piercings I managed to keep in stayed irritated even with proper care and I had to get surgical grade jewelry put in by another piercer to get them healed. Screaming Needle's jewelry is NOT surgical/implant grade. And on top of everything else, one of the piercers put his crotch all up on my knee and there was no way that was necessary since there was plenty of space. Please do your research and find better piercers if you intend on healing your piercings, even if there are higher costs involved it's worth it to get better service, correct healing advice, and good jewelry. read more

His work looked like it was done by a 3rd grader and a box of crayons. #3, after 4 months of conversations about how to make the mess right, refused to draw what I asked for. I was passive aggressively 'guided' into what he wanted to do. The product, bc I micromanaged every aspect, turned out pretty good. PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE going here to get something pierced!! Okay, so the place seemed nice but they are not good at what they do. I got my helix pierced and it went pretty well except for the person who did it was not the nicest, but I was just happy to get the piercing. A few weeks after, I'm cleaning it twice a day but it was developing a bump and getting irritated. I got a better cleaning solution from a better place and got the irritation to go away. Just yesterday went somewhere else, a better piercing place to get my helix resized and looked at. The person was very kind and had been piercing for 12 years. They told me that the helix was not pierced correctly and they did a bad job, and that it might be best to just keep the earring out and let it heal. I was very disappointed. They gave me good advice at there, and I will be returning there, and not to Screaming Needle. I recommend to not get piercings here. read more

This is the worst place I have ever been to. The guy who did my tattoo refused to shave my arm first, wouldn't tell me where he got his inks from. I should have ran out of there but I already paid for the whole thing. So I ended up staying. The guy smelled like dirty hamster bedding or something equally as nasty, after getting home I realized the ink itself must have been the smell, because over 24 hours later the smell is still pouring out of my skin! Do not go here. I was trying to get some information for my 16 year old niece whose mother passed away this year. I asked if there was anyway I would be able to help her get the piercing she wanted with her father's permission. Zander the manager said she needed to get over it and he couldn't help us. He said his mom died it when he was 16 and he's fine. I understand the rules if there are rules, but what a horrible way to talk to somebody who just lost their sister and mother. I went to go get my nipples done earlier this week for $50. Andrew did my piercings and he was a delight. He was chatty and funny. Room was clean and sanitized. All the equipment was sterile. Young man at the front who helped me with my paperwork and getting my ID was very comical and nice as well. I was a walk in at about 6pm so I was in and out very very quickly. My piercings aren't completely straight, but I knew that would happen because I am have a pretty big bust and gravity isn't our friend haha. Screaming needle is hands down the WORST tattoo/piercing parlor in the west Michigan area. Most people think "wow screaming needle is great because their prices are low, they're sterile and they have two for Tuesday!" Well that is not the case. My friend went to simply get her nose pierced by Melissa. My friend pointed out exactly what she wanted and where she wanted it. Melissa did not comply, she said the hoop would hug her nose and be what she wanted. She proceeded to pierce my friend without warning, after my friend said "No, I am not ready." This is not the first horrible experience we've had at screaming needle. I want to educate everyone and explain my horror stories about this terrible terrible business ruining west Michigan. A year ago I went to screaming needle to get my big toes tattooed and my inner lip tattooed. I didn't recognize first but once my friends told me they informed me that they did not change the needle between getting my toes tattooed and my inner lip. I went to get my septum pierced here and they went right through my cartilage. It was horribly painful and the piercer acted as though it was normal. Failed to look at the reviews before going in, got lucky that they turned us away apparently. There was one girl at the front having to help 10+ people in the lobby. Every question we had she had to go back and ask the artist. First we were told that we couldn't get the tattoo in the space we wanted, so we changed the area, we wanted a pair of cherries and a latitude and longitude and we were given a price that was way too high, so we settled on just the cherries which was still pretty high. We got our IDs out and they wouldn't except mine. I had a temporary paper ID that says it can be used along with a recently expired license but they refused me of service according to "Michigan State Public Health." We went to another shop and had no problems. They accepted the ID and were WAY cheaper. read more

If Claire's does not need a birth certificate, not sure why this place does. I will call the licensing office tomorrow to see if this is accurate. i went to their Plainfield location a little over a month ago to get my nipples pierced and I love them, they're healing really good, however, they used externally threaded jewelry. I'm far from an expert but I do know that externally threaded jewelry can be harmful to some, expecially in such a sensitive area. i would recommend this place to someone looking to get a quick and cheap ear piercing but I wouldnt come back or recommend this place for anyone looking to get a piercing in a more sensitive area. I was nervous to go somewhere other than my usual place I go to. I went here for the 2 for $30 deal and got my anti tragus pierced and my nose pierced in December. The anti tragus never healed correctly, and got a bump on it after a month or 2 of having it that never went away. My nose piercing was still a bit sensitive when I moved it, even after 7 months of having it. The tail of the piercing (which i believe is supposed to be an L shape, mine was curved a long) would always bother the inside of my nose so sometimes I had to leave the end of the piercing coming out my my nose. (I hope that makes sense). Anyway, when I went to the usual place I go to (Studio Seventeen in Holland) he told me that the reason the anti tragus didn't heal correctly is because the jewelry was too big for a newly pierced ear. It was constantly moving around when it was bumped or touched. When he took out the stud from my nose, he said it just looked a little too long and curved. Moral of the story is between my experience with the customer service (they seemed not to care about me, wasn't very friendly or talkative. Just gave me my piercing and that was that.) and then the jewelry just not having my piercings heal correctly.... definitely not coming here again. When it comes to tattoo and piercing shops, you're usually paying for the service and quality. Don't settle for the cheap shit. read more

I went in on a Tuesday for the 2/$30 deal, and ended up getting my navel and doubles pierced. My friends and I arrived around 3:30 and got pierced at 5. Id recommend giving yourself at LEAST an hour and a half to two hours of extra time if getting a piercing on Tuesday. The piercer was nice but because of how many people present, was very rushed and didn't check with me if I liked the placement. I was in and out within 5 minutes though. Not a terrible experience but also wasn't great, the deal is good but if you value customer experience I would recommend looking into someplace different. read more

I had an amazing experience with screaming needle, I was a bit cautious because of the name and because of the low rating but they deserve a five all around! I got my cartilage pierced there for $25 including the earring about two weeks ago the only thing I'd say do is make an appointment or else you'll be waiting for awhile. They bring you into a fresh clean room everything is sanitized and organized neatly, they prepare with care tips and after that the piercing is done and over with! I have gotten a few tattoos at the Plainfield location and was always happy with them. In July 2018 I got a tattoo with Terry. As he was doing the tattoo he seemed to have an issue with "everyone expecting perfection with a tattoo"(his words). My friend went to him right before me and was not happy with his attitude. It ended up having a blow out that was really big. I went in and talked to another artist to cover it up/fix the blow out. After messaging over facebook messenger multiple times, emailing and personally stopping in 2 times I never heard back from anyone. I was not asking for a discount for fixing it. I just wanted it to look nice and not like a huge bruised arm. I ended up going to Honest to Goodness with Emily. I am so glad I went there. She is amazing! I decided to do the 2 for $30 deal and got my third ear lobe piercing and the other side of my nostril (my right side was pierced over a year ago by a different place). The piercer was rude and extremely rough to the point my nose piercing was pouring blood when i got in the car. Even when he was changing my already pierced nose, he was so rough that it was sore as well. 3 stars for quickness and all of my piercings being lined up, removed 2 for service. read more
