It's been 6 months since we got married, so I should write a review now because I think the…read morewarranty period is up? Kidding! That said, there's not much one can say about comparing wedding planners against other wedding planners, and if someone can... you might want to think about who you're marrying. So, she went 1 for 1 in my book, and here's the 'guys' take on it all... bullet point style: Pro's - Amy Miller is the best... fact. - Stays calm when others are not... super calm... very helpful - Always available and makes a couple feel like they are always her #1 priority - Massive network makes life extremely easy when picking vendors - Listens, then responds - Allows a couple to be ridiculous and encourages unique and fun ideas - Also can calmly returns a couple back to Earth when needed - Is smart, thinks through logistics item by item, not just frills and lace but nuts and bolts too Con's - Nearly none... except be sure to keep your eye on your own budget, she won't be your book keeper (rightly so) - Only one wedding to work with her on! (She does events too, so we'll see her again in the future!) Look, a wedding planner is an added expense to an already ridiculous racket of an industry, but having a partner who's been there, done that (and having that not be your actual partner) is a massive benefit to planning a great event. During the planning process, it sometimes doesn't feel worth it... but the days just before, the day of, and certainly in the days, weeks, and months following, the benefits and value of having someone like Amy Miller involved in your wedding are worth every penny.

The worst part though - He asked for a request list of songs that he could go off of to make his set list. When asked to get a preview of his set list, his response was "you'll have to trust me". That might be what is understood in the DJ world but when it came to the dancing music he played, I would have liked more of a say because it was not what we wanted to go for. So much so that no one really wanted to dance and at 8pm when I approached him with intentions to ask about what was going on with the playlist, he was not at his DJ stand but was playing with a fake animal toy around the children instead. He responded with "are y'all ready to dance?" - um YES! The whole point of having the DJ at a wedding is to have music to dance to. He began to play all of the songs we requested in a row instead of blending them with similar songs throughout the night. Later he told my now husband that the music we provided would only take up 45 minutes... if we needed to provide the whole playlist that's something we needed to know ahead of the event instead of "trusting him" to do his job. At that point in the night, neither of us wanted to dance and chose to socialize with our guests instead of participate in his less than what's considered good performance of DJing. I would not recommend him as a wedding DJ to anyone and would almost go so far as to actively warn people about this experience.

He made our special day perfect for us. He was strongly recommended and I now know why. He was so much more than a DJ for us. He was a photographer, coordinator, host of ceremony, the works. The owner was talking to the guest like we were students and she was the teacher. We had a DJ that a lot of us know and love. As we got ready to party for the night. The owner ran over and took the mic out of the DJ hand and told him to turn the music down, and that it was too loud. Wait, I thought we was at a reception. The food was terrible. The cake was tilted and was about to fall. They ran out of food and they didn't care to replenish it. The food was cold and mushy. We were standing in line for what ever was left and the owner told us the line was too long and she split my sisters and I up and told us to go back and have a seat. She literally was talking to us like we were kids. After we literally witnessed what she did to the DJ, the guest proceeded to leave the venue. They are very rude. They come off to people like they are just this loving couple that wants to make your day special. But they just want your money. They come off to be racist in my opinion and others that attended. I spoke to the DJ after the event and he stated he tried to talk to them and asked them what went wrong. The male owner told him to get the f?!k out of his place and never come back. This place is nothing but undercover racist. I would advise anyone who is looking to rent this venue to do your homework. Take the time to ask lots of questions and do your research. The DJ did not deserve the treatment given to him. And the guest certainly did not deserve to be treated like kids. If I could give them 0 stars l, I would have.
