Sam produced a great site feasibility document and we spent several months working on a design for the project. It has been a pleasure working with Sam and SDL Residential Design! Our goal was to remodel three small bathrooms in our 1916 house. We wanted an affordable update that was interesting, colorful, and stayed true to the time period. We also did not want to discourage future buyers. After months of trying to figure this out on our own, we called SDL. Sam started with three creative and unique vision boards for inspiration. His choices of tile, paint, fixtures, etc were on point. SDL Residential was a crucial part of our home renovation. After a thorough survey of our home and property Sam was well equipped to move our project forward. We converted the garage into a master suite, added an additional bathroom to the house and put in an outdoor kitchen, large deck and pool. As residential designers for our kitchen and bath remodel, Samuel and his team have skills that cover several disciplines that would otherwise require hiring a separate architect and interior designer. Samuel took stock of the current style of our house and blended designs for a new state-of-the-art kitchen and bath. He listened well through several iterations and was very responsive to questions and inevitable issues that came up with our contractor during construction. Once the designs were settled on, they were able to produce the drawing sets for our contractor, cabinet maker, and Sonoma County permits with very little oversight from us. When two appliances leaked and damaged my kitchen floors, I knew it was time to redo the whole kitchen, buy new appliances, and switch the stove from electric to gas, all things I had thought about doing for a long time. I looked at several magazines for ideas and thought it was something my husband and I could do ourselves. A very good friend of mine who is a realtor suggested I talk to a designer to get the most up-to-date ideas for resale value (even though I was not about to sell my house). Sam Lowe, a young, bright Sonoma County man met with us. We immediately knew we were behind the times with kitchen products and designs. Almost immediately we were visualizing the changes that new lighting and countertops would make and we liked his ideas and recommendations. We learned lots of things such as stainless steel appliances from different manufacturers might not match and their different handles might make our kitchen look strange. We learned how to economize by saving the old cabinets and repainting then and adding new handles. The quartz countertops, beautiful plumbing fixtures, glass tile backsplash, and - almost most important - the perfect color paint resulted in a kitchen we love and are proud of. Maybe the most impressive was that he offered different levels (and fees) for his participation. Sam was very flexible, respected our suggestions and questions and followed-up with the vendors and contractors to assure perfection in the product.
