This garage is awful.... I phoned the garage for a quote for some work on an MOT failure and they…read moreestimated approx £160 to fix but with some uncertainty with a certain issue. When I took it to the garage I was then quoted by a 2nd person at approx £250 at least without fully knowing what the problem with the issue was, clearly a lack of communication here or a chance to rip me off ! I then suggested that they focus on the issue that they didn't know about and let me know a firm price for the works.... They didn't do this for free, knowing they may get some work out of me they charged me £30 just to look at it so I had some thoughts that this garage is certainly taking me for a ride... After agreeing yes I would like a firm price and to know fully what the issue is I left this with the garage. After having a look I received a phone call to say that my cylinder was leaking and this needed to be replaced plus replacement of the other parallel wheel. They then totalled the amount with this added work at £450 300 quid more than the original quotation... With shock I put the phone down and said I will pick the car up ASAP, this was clearly a rip off !! To prove a point and my incline that the garage was taking me for a ride I then went to another garage to quote..... This garage quoted me £180, parts, labour everything included ! I found out later that the only thing to do with this supposed leak was to adjust my brake shoes/pads so it stops leaking... I know have a full MOT !!! This is £270 difference and the garage was prepared to rip a customer off that much. I want to make customers aware this garage is an absolute rip off and they should not go there !! Awful, awful customer service and clearly out to take people for a ride, they have lost a good customer being in the motor trade myself buying me selling cars !!!

I have used Ellis Motors on a number of occasions and I have never had a problem. Unlike a lot of…read moregarages they are courteous and know what they are doing. I regularly supply my own parts because the car is no longer manufactured and the parts are hard to source at reasonable prices. They have always accepted this and we have good customer relations. The charges are reasonable and they have always made me aware of what needs to be done before proceeding. I don't think they replace parts unnecessarily. I have had several cars of different makes and models serviced and been entirely satisfied with their work. I know they are constantly busy and can only ascribe that to their loyal customer base. I would recommend them.

I explained to…read morethe man, I was booked in for an interim service with richmond for £150 Ellis Motors said for that kind of price, they'd normally £150 for a full service, so I booked an interim service with Ellis expecting it to be like £80. On the actual day I turned up and gave him my keys, where he then said "I quoted you about £150?" Seeing as I live nowhere near, I needed my car fixing that day and I had to bite my tongue and just accept they £150 charge. Won't be using them again

Providence Auto Repair changed my front break discs, front lamps and adjusted the exhaust system to adequately support the front. They provided friendly and timely service, with a normal price range of what had to be done and saved me almost £200 (which I would of had to pay in the other garage). They have gained a new customer, I will definitely be returning there again!
