It was a pretty average zoo and I was able to get through all the animals in the last couple hours they were open. They had some insane (and terrifying) birds. My favorite was seeing the adorable dingos, sleeping red panda, and seeing a baby kangaroo pop in and out of its mom's pouch!

Where as Section 8 is outside, this is inside over two levels. I've been here a couple of times, but wanted to come back here specifically for some food, though I have noted that they generally offer easy to make finger food, with the biggest being the hotdog. Still that hot dog was pretty awesome, as was the atmosphere. I would call it a craft beer bar, but technically it isn't. particularly since they only have a small selection of beers. What it does have is lots of rooms hidden about the place, which I have to admit is also pretty cool.

With only a small sign and a roller door to advertise it's presence, it is a great place to get away from the noise and action of China Town and sit down with some delicious cocktails. The décor is like something out of an old Chinese dynasty with intricate woodwork, intimate booths and comfortable lounges. The music isn't too loud so you can still have a chat with your mates, and the general atmosphere is one of relaxation. Bar food is on offer but its not as spectacular as the cocktails (or the food along Little Bourke), but worth a nibble if your hungry and don't want to leave. The bar, illuminated against the wall has some of the best cocktails around and the bar staff are extremely good at making them to your satisfaction. Highlights include the Aviation (crème de violette and gin with maraschino liqueur and lemon juice), and The Last Word (green chartreuse, gin, lime juice and maraschino liqueur). You can't go wrong.

It's sort of like Melbourne's version of Bondi, except there is a lot more stuff around here, and it is much easier to get to as well (namely because multiple trams pass through here). It can sit about 300 with a large bar area or host 15 to 20 stands during a promotion event inside. There is a sizeable outside area that has vehicle access and can be used for vans or cars used in the event. There is limited street park and very close to the Alfred hospital so parking can be difficult. There quick access from trams on St,Kilda Rd or buses in Punt Rd. This is a great place to hold the right function.

By the end of our day, the breakfast staff knew us my name and greeted us so warmly each morning that it felt like coming downstairs at home for breakfast. Their kindness, friendliness, and genuine hospitality made every day start on a positive note. The location is fantastic. It is right in the heart of Melbourne, CBD and close to everything, yet surprisingly quiet and peaceful. The tram stop directly in front of the hotel and the train station just steps away made it easy to get anywhere in Melbourne. The hotel itself was well maintained and beautifully presented. A month is a long time to stay anywhere so naturally a few hiccups arose within our stay. What stood out was the way the staff handled them. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Melbourne.
