At the start of my trip to the Philippines, we stayed at the Conrad hotel. Note this hotel is not…read morereally close to the airport- at night it took us 30 minutes to get to the hotel. The hotel is located next to a large mall. We got to the hotel at about 9pm and were ready to check in quickly and get a good night of sleep. There was nobody waiting at the check in desk, but the process was extremely slow-- I am not sure if it was the front desk computer or the key system. After some time, our keys were finally ready and we were escorted to our room. The room was nicely appointed, although the room felt tight. We did have an amazing view of the water, unfortunately the view was skewed due to the construction going-- unfortunately the construction will be going on for a while. We were also disappointed with the finishings in the room, they seemed a bit outdated and worn. Given this is a Conrad hotel, we expected the quality of the room to be higher. Also, the room did not have a bathtub. The room did have a nice size shower that was a bit complicated. Despite the room being small and outdated, the bed was excellent. The bed was extremely comfy with nice fluffy blankets. The hotel does have a nice pool. The pool is very clean. We were at the hotel off season-July, so the pool was not too crowded. The pool is small so I could imagine the pool be super busy and perhaps a lack of chairs during busy times. The hotel also has a nice gym on the first floor. The gym is appointed with a good amount of equipment. The equipment is nicely spaced to provide room to move around. As diamond members we were offered breakfast in the lounge or in the restaurant. The restaurant has a large buffet for breakfast, so we elected to eat there-- best to go super early before the restaurant gets busy. During prime time, you may have to wait for a seat. We were fortunate to grab a seat with a view. The restaurant offering were wonderful. As diamond members we were offered a special menu. The special menu offered special drinks and food items. All of this is included in a menu. The buffet was nice, but the service could be better- drink orders took a while. Plus, tables around us were not cleaned readily. We did not like having our breakfast and looking at dirty dishes. On the executive floor, there is also a small executive lounge that is offered to gold and diamond members. They offer breakfast, snacks and happy hour. Lastly, the hotel offers good security. When you arrive, they check your car. Plus, you have to go through additional security when you walk into the lounge.

This hotel came highly recommended - the mall is nearby, tons of eatery options, there's a casino a few minutes away, and most of all, it's only a 10-15 minute drive to the airport. But after a 10 hour drive just getting here, I just wanted to chill and relax, maybe have grub from the hotel restaurant (Millie's - that's for another review.) I wasn't really interested in leaving after arrival, more especially with that pending long flight back to the US coming up in a few hours. But off the bat, I was impressed. Staff was very cautious about unloading our bags from the car to the cart. They were also quick and efficient about delivering them to our room. Checking in was also an easy and quick process. Best of all, all levels of staff were very welcoming. The room was pristine clean. The beds were made perfect. Not a speck of clutter anywhere. The bathroom was the same - it truly smelled sanitized. The only hiccup was the signal for the smart TV wasn't strong, so it kept skipping out every five or ten seconds or so, so just keeping the TV on wasn't pleasant. I made staff aware, but since we were only gonna be there for hours, plus the WiFi was pretty strong, we made do with smart phones and tablets. But staff was aware and mentioned they will take a look at it. Cost was a little under $200US. I was overall impressed. Keeping them on my radar for when the need comes up again.

And wow is this place amazing. First entering we were welcomed in and someone helped us with our bags. Not only that the check in process took a about 5 minutes faster than the previous hotel we went to which was a plus. Honestly this hotel is well maintained from the elevators to the hallways to the rooms pretty clean. I honestly loved the room came with a nice little fridge, great ac, nice tv, good bathroom (except for the shower soap dispenser I had to fix it myself), the beds were so comfy. We ordered a lot of room service the food was pretty good and affordable, which is always a plus. Sadly we couldn't where the ice machine was. What we also loved was how close it was to MOA. It was so convenient because we got to go there pretty much everyday and it just took us like 5 minutes to walk into the mall. Honestly if there's a great hotel you want to book in the MOA area it would be this one. I wish we got the chance to go-to the pool though I heard the view was amazing.

Title: Exceptional 60th Birthday Stay with Top-Notch Service…read moreI seldom write reviews, but when I do, it's because I want to share a truly honest experience. When I vacation, I plan ahead and prefer staying in 4 to 5-star hotels. I don't mind spending money as long as the experience is worth it--that's the whole point of a vacation! From the moment I stepped out of my car, the service was extraordinary. Everyone, from the concierge to the front desk and the restaurant staff where I celebrated my birthday, was incredibly polite and accommodating. Most importantly, the hotel was spotless. I was initially worried because it's a casino hotel and I feared it would be smoky (which is a concern for my asthmatic child), but it was very fresh. The brunch buffet at Fresh was delicious, and the ambiance was perfect. You truly get what you pay for. A special thank you to Ms. Valdez for assisting with my booking all the way from California! Regarding security and safety: after lunch, we checked in and headed to the pool to relax and watch the Manila Bay sunset. I was impressed to see lifeguards everywhere. I even overheard a child asking to remove her life vest because she felt she was tall enough, but the lifeguard asked, "Can you swim?" When she said no, the lifeguard firmly said, "No." Seeing that level of responsibility made me feel so much more comfortable leaving my kids in the pool area. The room itself was a sanctuary. The bedding was high-quality, and despite the hotel being busy, the soundproofing was excellent--I couldn't hear any noise from the casino floor or the hallways. For a parent with an asthmatic child, I also noticed the AC filters were well-maintained; there wasn't a hint of dust or that old hotel' smell. It sad to say they beat Caesar Palace Las Vegas . The location is perfect for those who want to be near the airport without feeling like they are in a 'transit' hotel. Being right by Manila Bay gives you those world-class sunset views that you just can't get anywhere else in the city. It felt like a true resort getaway in the middle of the metro. Check-out was seamless. They offered various transportation options, from a private limousine to Grab services for the airport. Thank you to Ms. Pam and Ms. Marge for the excellent customer service. They truly made this vacation stress-free. I highly recommend this hotel! 100 percent will come back again!

Upon entering you're greeted by ladies wearing long colorful dresses, who can assist with directions. However, there is a dress code, which is strictly enforced, (No tank tops, flip flops, or beach wear). There's a large casino onsite offering slots and table games similar to those in Las Vegas. They also offered Passport Hot Stamping at the Louis Vuitton store, which I took advantage of. The resort, hotel and mall staff were extremely welcoming and friendly, making me very comfortable.

I am writing a blog for great and reasonable travel in Southeast Asia and this Thai based company, is expanding in the Japan, Malaysia,Thailand and now the Philippines markets is one of the leading contenders in reasonable housing. The other value-added service here is the car pickup from MNL to this hotel. Its the cheapest around about 1100 Phil. pesos round trip (about $22). A person shows up at the airport by baggage claim with your name on a sign, just like a regular limo service. The car is an economy car unless you want to limo. That costs more of course. You can book through the travel desk at this hotel (a 3rd party company) to the right of the checkin desk. Or email the hotel ahead of time. It takes about 24 hours to confirm your airport pick up. Verdict: Enjoyed it for an overnight stay. Will use again if i come in on a late night flight and leaving the next morning.
