While I was taking the class, I was in a place where I couldn't see myself in the mirror and look at my form which was unfortunate. While it may look easy, you will get a great workout and the instruction, the care, making sure you are in the right position to do it correctly and prevent injury is fantastic. The workouts are diverse enough that I don't get bored and I feel great.

They will customize your workout experience even in large classes. The coaches will make sure you are OK. If you have an injury, you will get modified instructions tailored to your needs. The other clients are very cool. Mellow, happy, joking, one big family. The coaches care about you and want you to reach your goals. The price: You get back so much more than you give. Also, you will not find more inexpensive classes at other local studios. Think Pilates is only for rich people? Not at HBP. The largest investment is your time. It's worth it. My recommendation: Sign up today. Start with Mat Pilates. When you are feeling stronger, try Lean & Fit and Barre. This is the gripe: I joined CP south HB location July 5th, 2024 with a monthly unlimited membership. On August 28th 2025, the studio offered a semi-annual prepaid membership, which I signed up for. I was advised by Carol not to wait until the monthly payment was due in 9/5/25 to make the switch, and that she will tackle on a week at the end of my semi annual membership since it was already paid for. By my calculation (and hers) at the time of the prepaid membership was done, the 6 months should end February 28, 2026 (+ the one week). Today January 28th, 26 I received a call from Carol, telling me that my membership has expired and that I'm "locked out". And she would offer me a discounted annual membership if I renew today. I asked her what happened to the one month that is left. That is when Carol got really frazzled and not knowing what to do. She indicated to me that my account was being "audited", and that I need to speak with corporate. When asked for a corporate number, she refused to give it to me and instead asked me to email someone named "c sweet". I did so, without any response. Then she had the audacity to tell me that she'll let me "have the prebooked classes". Excuse me? I've paid for them til the end of February. You are not doing me any favor but instead locking me out of booking my classes one month earlier than expected. This is thievery. See photo for the receipt of my transaction, which clearly indicated the date the transaction occurred, as well as the type of membership it was.

(I hadn't worked out in a long time since I started here, and have some medical procedures coming up that I need to be in my best shape for. That's why I take so many classes right now) The change in my body is even better than when I used to work out two hours a day on my own when I was younger. My posture has improved tons and I can feel the strength, and length, built up in my feet, ankles, legs, arms, back and core. I still have a few problem areas, but those come with age and my genetics (my people have inner thighs:)) But, they are getting better, just at a slower pace. I literally schedule all of my classes based on what class I need that day, but just as important is getting in with my three favorite/loved instructors: Rachel, Julie and Connie. *Caveat - I have not gotten to try classes with all instructors, so not negatively judging the other instructors* All three are incredibly knowledgeable (I mean you are basically trusting them with the health of your body), and will tell me how to correct my body position without it feeling embarrassing or like a drill sergeant. I also feel comfortable asking them any questions, no matter how silly I feel they are. All three instructors are great people and bring a different energy to the classes they teach. Connie is hilarious and a spitfire, Julie is very calming and nurturing and Rachel is a mix of everything. The best thing is they are all kind and thoughtful, which is really important bc Pilates can be incredibly intimidating when you are first starting, or trying a new class. The other people who take classes there are also really nice, funny and helpful. I think that's a side effect of the whole vibe here,and the type of people and personalities it attracts. And, I can't forget Erica up front. She is not only great at what she does, but I get to crack up and feel uplifted every time she's there. She's the epitome of a Boxer dog person (if you've ever had a dog that is silly, funny, weird, smart and still needy you'll get it). Love her. If you can't tell, I really like it here. Lol. But we spent alittle over $300 there on everything! There is a $35 or $45 entrance fee depending on when you come. It's just to come inside the lagoon. If you want the obstacle course it's an additional $10 per person for 55 mins (super short). If you want to kayak, use the aqua bike or use the paddleboard it's an additional $10 per equipment/item. There is a kiddie area for small and young children. They DO NOT allow outside food or drinks except water! There is a small shop that sells misc. items, snacks & drinks (overpriced). They also had a foodtruck inside that was expensive and the meals didn't come with drinks. They do have plenty of staff and lifeguards there. The entrance fee should of been $15-20. The obstacle course atleast 90-120 mins instead of the 55 mins. Wish the foodtruck came with drinks and was a bigger portion.

Decided to surprise my wife with a relaxing duffy boat ride for our wedding anniversary with some friends. Went straight to Yelp to do my research (thanks Yelp!). Originally, I was going to book with a rental company for Newport Harbor, but then came across a Groupon for PCH Electric Boats. After checking out their website and reading the glowing reviews on Yelp, I immediately booked. I called to book a white duffy boat on the day before Thanksgiving. The person on the phone was friendly, courteous and really easy-going. They asked if I had a Groupon and if I could provide the voucher number. BOOM. done. all set! I received an email with VERY DETAILED INSTRUCTIONS (including photos) of where to park and where the meeting area was. Additionally, a link to the waiver form that every passenger is required to fill out (even your babies) was included in that email. On the day of our booking, we were met by the owner Grant who I'm pretty sure was the same friendly, courteous and easy-going person I talked to on the phone days earlier when I booked. He provided specific instructions on where we're allowed to go and what to avoid. He saw we had several small children in our party and recommended everyone use the restroom nearby before boarding since there is not place to stop out in the harbor. After we came back from our potty break, Grant lead us down to the dock and got all the kiddos fitted for their life vests (all in great condition btw). He assisted us with our bags so we could focus on boarding the kids safely and even took a group photo for us! The boat was clean and easy to drive. The sound system was bumping and all the windows easily lifted up for that nice harbor breeze. It was a beautiful and memorable day. On our return, Grant was at the dock with one of his employees ready to receive us. He guided us in smoothly and as we were gathering our belongings and cleaning up, he helped all the kids out and grabbed our bags. We handed Grant a tip and immediately he passed it over to his employee who was going to do the post-ride cleaning.. what a great boss!!!! Definitely will be booking with PCH Electric Boats again! Thanks Grant!!!!

I love this Pilate's studio! Especially Alex's classes! She provides a full body workout and is so knowledgeable about what muscle groups are working with each exercise. There are plenty of other good pilates studios that are actually open when you come in and make a reservation UPDATE: Amanda the owner contacted me and informed me that they had an issue with the system connecting to Classpass. I was offered to come in and try a class. I ended up going in and had Deborah as an instructor. The facility is clean and Deborah was great. She was very helpful and attentive. I'm glad I decided to give this place a chance.

I usually attend during the week around noon, which I absolutely love--it's not as busy as the morning or evening classes, so it feels more intimate and allows me to really focus and learn. My instructor has been amazing. She takes her time to make sure I'm doing each pose correctly and always offers modifications when needed, which I truly appreciate as someone still learning. Even in just 9 days, I already feel a difference--my body feels less tense, and I'm sleeping so much better. I'm excited to continue my practice here and see how much more I can grow.

You are in a small group setting but Diane modifies each persons weight amount, intensity or a modified version for any injury you are rehabbing. She watches everyone intently corrects form, or adds weight to push you if she sees you are ready. Once I got pregnant she completely modified a version of the group workout for me each session. She ensures I am avoiding movements that are dangerous, that I wear a heart rate monitor to watch my HR and she also adds in things that will help prep me for delivery. I have been able to keep working out into 3rd trimester and hope she can keep me getting healthy movement in as long as possible!

She is no nonsense hands-on trainer; demonstrating then observing and correcting as the workout progresses. Every session is a new experience but is always balanced with both cardio and resistance. No workout is the same-old-thing. She has state of the art fitness machines combined with many other fitness tools : bands, dumbells, bosu, weight balls, TRX, blocks.... and more. At DC Fitness you dont waste time walking a tredmill; you dig right in and do reps and sets and move from routine to routine. I love this place and the vibe. I love my personal challenges. I'm just so happy I started going! Personally I've never done pilates. I've always done group classes at the gym or workout from home. Forget all that. Her classes work every part of your body. She has so many different machines and chairs, etc... I don't know the names, and they look intimidating, but with her instruction and guidance I feel so confident. It's a small studio which is awesome. No more than 6 (I think) students at a time. Most I've been with so far is 6 which was just fine. She tailors your work out to your needs and level. She knows so much... I'm learning new terminology on ballet forms, dance etc each time I go. It's wonderful how everything is incorporated. I live south OC, but work in Westminster so this is perfect for me. Flexible hours. I go in either before or after work. My job is seasonal (taxes) but I will def continue the commute for these classes. Thank you SO much for getting me back into a new, awarding workout routine!

The building is really out-dated- and it's sort of dark in the studio. The workout wasn't great either. I felt like I was wasting my time. I wouldn't recommend this studio. There are some great studio's out there- this is not one of them.
