We came by this beach twice this week. Although it has tons of seashells all over it is still a nice enough beach. I do recommend wearing water shoes to enjoy the beach. I wasn't a fan of the seaweed all over but the water was nice and warm enough. read more

This is definitely one of the biggest beaches in the Yarmouth area. There is plenty of parking provided, with four roles. Getting to the water is a bit of a walk, but at the same time, great exercise. The view is decent for the most part, I wouldn't consider anything too exciting, except the view out to the west looking towards Point Gammon Lighthouse, which didn't look visible due to the weather. Across the water, you'll see Thacher Town Park Beach, which can't be crossed. One of the entrances has a mini fence on the ground, warning about sandpipers. Be careful while stepping over. There's no doubt I'll make this stop again. read more

I went to Seagull Beach on a recommendation early this morning and it did not disappoint! The big beautiful beach was clean, well kept and just extremely picturesque and quiet this time of year. It was mostly soft sand but there was also a big shelled area to walk along too. A ton of washed up bright green seaweed with barnacles, and horseshoe crab shells were lined up out of the water but not in a bad way. The beach had ample parking and many seagulls reside here, thus the namesake Seagull Beach. A great place to go for a lovely long walk, as it's quite relaxing and peaceful. This was the beach my family spent their summers at from the time I was an infant until I left Massachusetts to make my way in the world. I probably daydreamed a thousand times while sitting on the sand at Seagull beach, wondering if I'd ever get to the other end of that expansive, all-encompassing blue, stretching to the horizon and past the curvature of the earth. Since then, I've stood on the sands of Bora Bora and Lombok. I've body surfed on the Gold Coast and explored the Phi Phi islands off Phuket. I've gone to Goa, made it to Maui & Malibu, ventured to Valencia, and tanned in Tel Aviv. There is no beach on Earth I have more affinity for than Seagull Beach in Yarmouth. None. read more

Visited on a Saturday in early June. Arrived at the beach about 5:15pm Free parking and a pretty empty parking lot. Walked out to the sand and my husband was so happy to see lots of shells of different shapes and sizes. He began picking some up to bring back to California with him! We walked on the beach and enjoyed the light breeze until the sun set. I would definitely return to this beach again. read more

We stopped here for the good reviews excited to see the atlantic ocean. The beach had great parking and bathrooms nearby. Seagulls were constantly hovering looking for handouts. I went in the water even though it was cold and got in to my waist. I'd recommend this beach for a nice beach day enjoying the sand and sun. read more

I loved this beach! Parking is 20$ for the day but there was plenty of it. Large beach with soft white sand and loads of sun for a great tan. I went in middle of August and the water was soooo warm I didn't want to get out, even my baby loved it. There are a ton of sea shells that we collected from all over the beach. Some seaweed that screw the crap out of me a bit but just pushed it away. There were also some dead (I think they were), horseshoe crabs in the water and on the sand which were scary but so cool to look at! I would def come back to this beach. Get here early enough so you can grab a spot, got really packed after noon time but still plenty of fun. Food stand was wayyyyyy over priced, 6$ for a soft serve ice cream cone! Over 6$ for a small French fry (which were delish). Clean bathroom that was not over crowded. Love this place. Good for families. Bring a pool noodle and go float in the ocean :) read more

Beautiful beach, lots of shells but a layer of seaweed a few feet out from shore. We walked on the jetty and sadly people (fisherman) leave all their trash and I ended up filling up a bag. People need to pick up their trash and respect the ocean! read more

Great beach right on Parkers river. Huge parking lot. Beach is very close and has snack bar and restrooms. A nice drive into the beach too through the marshes and inlets. We saw them clam digging one day, which was cool. A very clean beach and parking area. They do charge for parking in the summer between memorial day and labor and free other than that and after or before hours. One of the best beaches around. read more

Really good beach, just gets crowded in the summer. We went early (got there at 9am and it wasn't crowded for another hour or two. The water is relatively calm, waves not being more than half a meter high. The lifeguards are there from 10/10:30am though, so just know that. It also cost 15$ to park, although see if your hotel had a discount for the beach parking because ours did. read more

Nice beach in convenient West Yarmouth. Lots of parking, though rates are now $15 a day to park. A snack shack and bathrooms are on site. The beach itself is nice, but a lot of seaweed and shells can make it a little painful to walk in certain areas. However, many parts are beautiful and pristine, and the jetties are a great place to walk out and take in Nantucket Sound. read more

We came in April and it was absolutely gorgeous. Light breeze and beautiful shells! It had that salty air smell and not a ton of sea weed. My 4 kids had a wonderful Time running up and down digging in the soft sand! Can not wait to go back in the summer! read more

If you looking for a beach sans children then this is not the beach for you. The ocean water is so warm and calm you can swim out quite a distance. Nice family beach. Went after four pm because the parking attendant goes home so its free. The water was medium warm but lots of seaweed and it was too rocky in the water without aqua shoes, my son cut his foot. Also we went for a walk down to the jetty and it was impossible to walk on the shells without shoes, so I think you'll be a lot happier if you bring aqua shoes and aren't freaked out by seaweed. Otherwise it was beautiful and breezy. There are better Yarmouth beaches, but still beautiful. Great for kite flying. read more

Seagull Beach was always one of our go-to spots when I was a kid growing up on Cape Cod. It's long and great for walking, though on the narrow side. There is plenty of parking, though the fee is kind of high at $15 in the summer. I really only go to the Yarmouth beaches these days off season, or if I can borrow one of my Dad's cars with a resident Beach Sticker! There are a snack bar, bathrooms, and lifeguards. Views are beautiful, especially from the jetty. Sand is generally soft and white, but beach conditions are always changing with the weather. Sometimes there's more seaweed than others, especially after bigger storms. read more

This beach is nice. I just didn't like that there was soooo much seaweed. I didn't go in the water because it was too cold and overwhelming amount of seaweed really turned me off. But, I enjoyed laying out and reading on the beach. It wasn't too crowded and it wasn't noisy at all. read more

I was surprised at how quiet this beach was - I could actually hear that relaxing sound of the ocean despite the number of people there. There's a lot of space between where the sand begins and the water, so I think that helps a bit with crowding and sound control. The sand is soft and nearly white, and the entire area is perfectly clean. There's a small building with a snack bar and some bathrooms, where I was able to change. No specific changing rooms or indoor showers, but there is an outdoor shower to rinse off. Parking was $15, which wasn't bad, and there were enough spaces spanning the beach so we didn't have to walk far from our car to get onto the beach and find a spot. We came back here after being away for 3 years. The beach is really nice but they have stopped raking it out. With out raking, all the stuff washing up sits there and rots. The smell is really bad. The snack bar is WAY over priced. They are trying to make a years salary in 3 months. They increase the parking to $20 per day too. It use to be our favorite beach and we would drive more than an hour to get there. Not anymore. read more

Cons: Over the past few years the prices at the snack shack have gotten a little ridiculous, $6 for a soft service ice cream. You can drive 5 minutes down the road & pay half that. I love Seagull Beach in South Yarmouth, MA. My family has been coming here for many many years. We love the large white sand beach, shells and ample parking. I recommend it to everyone young and old, families and singles. However, the concession stand's prices are thievery, plain and simple. We all expect to pay more then normal, but they border on shameful. We have also noticed this year that the male life guards are obnoxious. They spent more time whistling at kids in the empty guard chairs and swinging sticks at seagulls then being attentive or helpful. Keep an eye on your own kids. That said, hope to see you here next summer. read more

Cape Cod is known for it's virtually endless amount of beaches. What a lot of people may not realize is that the water conditions change depending on where you go on the cape. The beaches on the outside facing east will have the coldest water with the largest waves, the beaches on the south (known as the "sound" side) are the warmest and have smaller waves, and the beaches on the inside facing the cape are in between in temperature and have the calmest waters. Seagull beach is generally known as one of the nicest and warmest beaches in Cape Cod. They have a snack bar (which closes around 4:30pm), lifeguards (until about 4pm), a large parking lot ($15/day). The beach itself is very long (though not exceptionally wide) and extremely clean. The narrowness of the beach kept me from being able to do any sort of beach activity that required space but there was still plenty of room to find a nice spot and enjoy just relaxing on the beach. You can bring food and drinks on the beach (but sadly technically no alcohol). When I went on July 25th the water was the warmest I've ever felt in the northeast (I'm guessing it was around 77ish), the problem was that the water was completely full of seaweed. Part of this had to do with a storm the day before but according to the lifeguard there's always a noticeable amount of seaweed in the water there. I'm not talking a negligible amount of seaweed here, there was literally clumps of seaweed everywhere you turned. It was still a beautiful beach and if you want a clean beach on the cape with parking, bathrooms, and the greatest chance of water warm enough to swim in without freezing then sea gull is your place. read more

Seagull Beach is at the end of a long drive. There is plenty of parking. There are also amenities bathrooms/ snack bar. It does cost 15 dollars to park. Most resorts give you or issue cheaper passes at their desks-just ask. There is a long boardwalk to get to the sand. The sand is clean and white. The water is warm-relatively speaking.. The main problem is there is a lot of seaweed to get through.If you can- Word of caution wear water shoes- if you do not want to step on rocks or slimy seaweed. Once you adapt it is okay. You can swim out to the sandbar which is very clean , nice and very long..I used a fun noodle so I would glide over the seaweed and I did not have to put my feet down-I had no shoes on. read more

We went "off season" in September so it was nice that it was not crowded and we didn't have to pay to park. The beach was lined with horseshoe crab shells... Like hundreds of them... And TONS of seaweed. The long grass like seaweed that wraps around your legs. Because of this I would not go swimming. However, the water was warm enough to swim in if the crab corpses and seaweed don't bother you. It is a nice beach for an afternoon walk. read more

We had a late start one morning mid week (wk of August 9th) and we tried Mayflower Beach, Chapin, and Corporation and were turned away for full lots. Seagull was available. Ample parking, snack bar, restrooms and $15. The beach sand is rough and gritty and the water was a bit seaweedy during lower tide. But otherwise a pleasant day. read more
