We came @730 and that was a smart choice because by 830 I am pretty sure the lot was completely full. This beach gets *packed* and felt more congested than corporation even during both their peak busy times. Low tide is very cool, it's a pretty far walk out to water though but the tide pools and sandbars were fun. The water comes in quickly and then there's pretty much no "sand" space at all. Bathroom, snack bar and foot wash stations are always a plus. I was disappointed not to find any hermit crabs here though? I found one the entire time but corporation has a ton of little creatures to find. The waves were a little rougher than I would have liked. All in all, still fantastic! But the lack of hermit crabs and "space" leaves me loving this beach just slightly less than corporation.

You also have to stay for sunset because it is absolutely beautiful!! The sand is super white & soft, minimal rocks, very clean, & bathrooms are tidy. Great beach to go with family and friends! Parking was $30 last summer, not sure if it will go up for this summer. It's also not too far down in the Cape, which is great for if you're playing to do a day trip to the beach.

A whole week in Cape Cod and this is the only beach we went to. It was kind of just way too…read moreperfect! It was about a 20 min walk (or 2 minute drive) from our cottage and free to get on to, which is unheard of in Jersey! You do have to pay for parking ($30 on weekends and $20 on weekdays) so that, plus the walk being the only form of exercise we all got for 7 days straight, was all the motivation we needed for skipping the car. The water was nearly dead still all week, no garbage anywhere and lifeguards were on duty most of the time. They made sure to clear the water when any sign of a storm was coming in and left us alone the rest of the time. One of my friends was terrified of sharks so she was a beach bum the whole time while me and my other friend would hang out in the water at least half the day. Sure, it was cold, but it was also SO hot on the sand, so super cold water was welcomed. I loved loved loved how not crowded this beach was. Again, coming from Jersey beaches, it's unheard of!! But we had so much room from other people and never felt like we were too close. A great place for a beach day (or week)!

He had invited friends and family down, we had discussed it and felt safe and comfortable with going. I rarely go to the beach, my fair skin, even with all the sunblock, ends up burning. However I try to go at least once a year for a swim, be it the ocean or a lake. The water, super refreshing on a hot summer day! Being about 60-something degrees, it was a shock at first, but then easily adapted to the temperature. The water was opaque from the seaweed being agitated, it was nice how deep the water got. However, 'Jaws' scared the crap out of me as a kid so I felt a little uneasy since it is not a harbor or bay, but just jutting along the open ocean on the outside portion of the Cape. So being in water where the seafloor drops off, in opaque water, made me a little anxious. The only good thing is knowing there are no seals nearby (sharks are attracted to areas with them, and attacks happen in less then 3 feet of water). Oh did I mention a tip is to not swim in murky water? Anyways, now that I have you paranoid about swimming here, the beach is beautiful and plenty of open space, and life gaurds are present.

Get to South Street off 6A, and then drive, drive, drive to the end of South Street (it's bumpy and gravely and a fun ride) where we can park in a nestle of trees. From there it's a quick hop over the dunes via the path, and endless splashing and playing await. Check the tide times for Barnstable harbour, and head on down for low tide! There's even some rocks to play around on if you do hit high tide....

It has a snack bar. It has clean restrooms. Keep an eye on the parking attendants! We were waiting so my husband walked in and took a look to find 3 open spots. So if you are waiting maybe scout the lot to ensure there are no open ones. It was crowded when we got here, but by 2 the crowds significantly died down! The tide went out and the kids were able to go out even further! We enjoyed this beach and it was a good option after we were turned away from our first 2-3 beach choices.

The beach is also handicap accessible. I would recommend walking a ways down the beach on the right because the seaweed and rocks do accumulate by the rocky jetty and the ocean turns dark brownish red when the tide comes in. The sand is softer and the water is clearer further to the right so make the walk.

The beach has nice sand, shells, birds, small fish, snd more. Kids love watching the sea life, making sand castles, and swimming. Life guard towers are present, but not always occupied. There is a parking fee during the day. At night it is free if you want to watch a sunset or walk. Check the town schedule for fireworks. This is an ideal site to view them. In all a good scenic beach.

I have dipped my toes in the water after sunbathing but I don't think I'd go all the way in because there is often a lot of seaweed. Bonus is that it's easy to get to on bike or foot from the surrounding area if you're nearby. Also, it appears many people like to park and read a book or just relax in their car because there are nice views when you pull up. I also love how many great seashells you can find here if you're into that. Lots of fun shells to make jewelry out of if you're feeling crafty! Not many complaints about this beach. No matter what, it'll always hold a special place in my heart!

I was thinking the typical pizza shops, arcades, and ice cream shops along the beach and sitting in the sand to watch sunset (that's how our boardwalks are like down by the Jersey shore). I was pleasantly surprised that it was a single boardwalk that led to a spot with benches to watch the sunset. It held such a peaceful vibe that even when talking to my partner, I tried my best to whisper to maintain that peaceful atmosphere. I loved all the nature that you are able to witness here -- the long stretches of sand, the marshlands and the osprey nest, and the Cape Cod bay out ahead. I truly enjoyed this hidden gem, and I highly recommend it for watching sunset if you're in the area :) reminder that it is an environmentally sensitive area, so do treat the area with respect and keep its cleanliness (take any trash back with you if you have any!)
