* Personal issues, back issues, stomach issues, etc. prevented him from working…read more * Did not show up for days, or weeks at a time. * No call, no show for each occurrence. * Painting five rooms and a stairway took months. * Holes unfilled, drips, left patches unpainted. * Broke a glass item and lost part of a window blind (not repairable) and didn't tell us about either one. * Only one room had the walls sanded, he painted the rest over with bumps, lumps, etc. *"Fixed" our stair railing by painting over old paint, without sanding, and didn't apply poly. The paint now scratches off when you bump it. * After painting, we were going to hire him to refinish our kitchen cabinets. He took the job, and said he was going to start on 5/18. He didn't show up. * No call. No reply to emails, calls, text messages to see if he was going to still do it. He didn't reply to anything for two weeks. During this time, he still had our house key and one of our cabinet doors. It has taken three follow up talks and the threat of legal action to get our key and cabinet door back. * We were MORE than understanding of his lack of professionalism and promptly paid him for the original painting job.

Service Pro Painting and Improvements In Grand Rapids…read more Hi, I waited awhile to write this review to see if Dan would make everything right. I started out by getting a quote from Kevin, and i agree to move forward with his quote even though he was not the lowest. when i contacted them to move forward i started to work with Dan and he reviewed the quote and sent me a final in voice to put down a deposit to get on the schedule, everything seemed to flow pretty quickly from this point with guys at my house to paint with in a few weeks. (with no Notice from Dan) The painting crew did a great job, when completed i had to reach out to Dan for a final walk thru. the communication from Dan was poor after i sent my deposit in. Dan did finally set up a date for the walk thru, but before he came out he sent me the final invoice at it was over $3000 more then what was agree upon. i sent back the final quote that we agreed upon before he schedule the Painters. he told ne the job was under quoted at this time and the new quote is what i should pay! It stopped by a couple of days later for the walk thru and he was very rude and upset that i would not pay the additional $3000 he wanted. He finally said to me what do i want and i told him i would write a check for the remainder of the original quoted price. And he said some explicated works and slammed his door on the truck and left. Since then he has never sent anyone out to complete the punch items we had agreed on and i have not heard anything from Dan. There was also more then Half of a five gallon bucket and one gallon of paint left over and they did not offer to leave any paint at all. Thanks Lance

The projects were done right, and I could tell they cared about quality. Were also transparent about what they were doing, why, and how much it'd all cost up front which I appreciated compared to other contractors I've worked with in the past that were vague/shady. If you want an honest price with a clear appreciation for quality, I'd recommend.

Preston knew what had to be done, and he told me he would be able to make the necessary repairs quickly since he had another project he was working on nearby. The repairs ended up being more work than he anticipated due to unforeseen conditions, but he did what was necessary and quickly like he said he would. In addition, Preston was very professional and pleasant to work with. I will use Simon Construction for other construction projects in the future, and would recommend them to anyone.
