We had poked around our area and none of the local estate firms really seemed to fit our needs. At the suggestion of a good friend we gave the Yee Law Group a call. From beginning to end the experience was excellent. In terms of getting this done we were the ones that lagged a bit and every time we provided or revised something, we heard back in less that one business day. The were friendly and professional at every turn. We headed up to Sacramento and signed the documents with no fuss. Friendly, competent legal services with reasonable pricing? Look no further

When my wife and I needed our trusts redone, I researched available law firms specializing in wills and trusts. Yee Law Group stood out during my research, and we are very happy we chose them for this project. At our first meeting with Michael Yee, it was obvious that he was an expert in this area of the law. He confidently answered all of our questions in ways that made his answers clear and understood. He gave us full confidence in every aspect of the professional relationship. Importantly, every communication with his staff was friendly and helpful, and it made us feel as though we were important clients of the firm. Our project is now complete, and it is easy for me to add my own 5-star review to all of the other 5-star reviews earned by Michael's law firm. The professional fee charged was fair, and I highly recommend Yee Law Group for all legal matters relating to wills and trusts.

I have been working to get it now, and they keep delaying! Still do not have it! We feel like we threw 2500.00 + dollars away for NO work product. Extremely disappointed! If I could leave a star rating, I would give it one star and that would be for Trinity Sines ; the paralegal there who has been trying to help us get our trust. BUT,.....I still do not have it. Multiple calls were scheduled that Sasha never joined, with the excuse that she had been pulled into trial. Responses were slow or nonexistent, and they submitted inaccurate information to the court even after being provided the correct details. They were unprepared for hearings, which caused unnecessary delays and extended the process. We had agreed on a flat fee that was paid in full. Despite very little progress being made after the initial stages, they have been unwilling to refund any portion for the work not completed. As a result, I had to take over and complete most of the case myself while learning the probate process on the fly. This experience was extremely frustrating and unprofessional. I would not recommend this firm to anyone handling a probate matter. If possible I would give negative stars for the review.

Anyway - the review isn't about her.... Kopper was the mayor of Davis once. He has a business run out of what looks like a small house in downtown Davis. Two or three office staff - always nice and helpful. He's a quiet disarming guy, who is long on good solid advice, and short on the "let's have war!" I'm in Sacramento, as was the divorce, and he had no problem making all the court dates. He's a smart efficient guy. I've seen him in the Sac Bee a few times championing this cause or that - but I can't tell you about that. He's not cheap - but I think I get my money's worth from him. He's done our estate and some other things too. We like him. Here is what he says about his practice: "Family Law - I strive to resolve family law cases with the least emotional trauma to my clients and with the least expense. I have completed a number of family law mediations where I help clients settle their differences outside the litigation process." More here: lawyers.nolo.com/attorney.cfm?attorneyID=497

H&R Block - I had taken information from the H&R website about Rebeca!!

    H&R Block

I had my taxes prepared at this H&R Block location for several years by Arfa Siddiqui, EA, an…read moreEnrolled Agent. I later hired a CPA to review my prior returns, and the CPA identified significant errors in returns prepared by this EA that resulted in me receiving substantial tax overpayments. I implore you to double check your taxes from the last 2-3 years as the IRS has a statute that errors can only be corrected going back 2-3 years for you to qualify for a refund of money you are owed. So if this HR Block made errors in years prior to that, you are not going to be able to recover that money. So please check your returns to make sure you received all the federal and state tax returns you are owed and make sure your returns were completed correctly. After correcting the affected returns, I am receiving MORE THAN $25,000 back in combined federal and California tax refunds including more than $20,000 from the IRS alone due to inaccurately calculated estimated tax payments b/c some of the regulations that indicated those taxes did not apply to me were simply overlooked. THESE ARE NOT TYPOS. You are correctly reading TWENTY-FIVE THOUSAND Dollars (USD), including more than TWENTY THOUSAND DOLLARS from the IRS alone. That is an absolutely positively EXTRAORDINARY amount of hard-earned AFTER-TAX money to have unnecessarily tied up because of tax-preparation errors. It was money I could have used for household bills and expenses saved, invested, earned interest on, or otherwise put to productive use. For an individual or family living with tighter finances, errors involving this amount of money could have caused very serious financial hardship. H&R Block ultimately refunded the tax-preparation fees I paid for two of the years in which the errors occurred. I appreciate that the company provided those refunds per their tax return accuracy guarantee which was honored. However, refunding the preparation fees does not erase the underlying problem or compensate for having tens of thousands of dollars unnecessarily tied up in tax overpayments for years. What I found particularly troubling was Arfa Siddiqui's response--or lack of one--after these problems came to light. I received NO apology from the EA, no expression of remorse, and no meaningful acknowledgment of the financial impact these errors had on me. Given the magnitude of the errors, I found that response extremely disappointing, discourteous, unprofessional and downright rude and insulting. Professionals can make mistakes. What matters afterward is accountability. When errors in professionally prepared tax returns result in a client overpaying tens of thousands of dollars, I believe an acknowledgment of what happened and a sincere apology are the very bare minimum. In my view, the magnitude of these errors represented an unacceptable failure in the level of care I expected from an Enrolled Agent preparing my tax returns. I am fortunate that another CPA identified the problems and helped correct the affected returns. Based on my experience, I would avoid actively Arfa Siddiqui or this H&R Block location again for tax preparation, and I would strongly encourage clients to carefully review their returns and consider obtaining an independent professional review if they have concerns about previously prepared returns. Arfa Siddiqui's profile says "22 years of experience as an H&R Block tax pro." This is absolutely not what I would expect from someone with that kind of experience. She blamed it on the HR Block software. When I said "I count on you to find errors," she did not acknowledge or apologize and actually laughed it off. This is not an unserious matter. I strongly recommend finding a CPA instead. It is worth the additional cost for the sake of accuracy. And again, make sure your taxes were filed properly for the last few years and that you received all of the tax return money from the government that you are owed. Please avoid Arfa Siddiqui for the sake of your and your family's finances.
