It was relatively clean, newly-painted, had a dishwasher, decent cabinet space, laundry in the basement, how could I possibly give this place 1 star? Whatever, screw this place. First of all, before you even get there, the area this building's in is horrible. I know it's not the building's fault, but I guaran-freakin'-tee you that you're going to lump it all together if you ever make the mistake of moving to this god-forsaken place. In the winter, you're going to tromp through nine feet of frozen, unshoveled snow to get to the T. The only place you won't see snow is the one house that seems to be constantly leaking a stream of water down its driveway, where you'll instead find a slick sheen of ice ready to send you and your bruised butt sliding off the sidewalk into traffic. Oh, it's warmed up? Congratulations, every house has a garbage can that smells like they're disposing of a body they've had laying around for a few weeks and just got around to cleaning up. What's that next to the garbage, some spilled rice? Why is it crawling--OH MY GOD! Okay, so you've made it past the disgusting sidewalks to actually get to your apartment building. Congratulations! Some guy just got arrested hiding under the staircase, or the lady in the neighboring apartment is passed out in front of the door and you need to wake her up so you can get inside. Once you get inside, if you're new to the building, you may notice a strange shadow in all of the light fixtures. Maybe you won't think much of it, but maybe you'll take one down in your own apartment to check it out. Guess what? Spider beetles all up in your everything! That cloudy shadow is enough tiny spider beetles to darken your apartment like a roc just flew past the sun. They are now in everything you own. Now that you're in your own apartment, you notice there's a piece of paper under the door. Turns out, the management company is sending someone to inspect your tub tomorrow morning. Hope you didn't have anything planned or didn't want to sleep in, because someone's coming in tomorrow morning whether you like it or not. 16 hours is enough notice, right? It's 16! That's so many hours! Remember that scene in Amityville Horror when the priest gets swarmed by flies? Not that I'm asking you for any reason in particular, but enjoy the laundry room! Assuming there are even any working machines not taken up by someone who will leave their clothes in the machine for two hours and then yell at you for removing them because "How am I supposed to know when 20 minutes has passed?" Still, how can I complain? Heat is included in the rent! So what if it's drafty? You're allowed enough heat in your drafty apartment to get the one spot next to your thermostat all the way up to 70! That's enough, right? There's no reason you would ever ever want to turn that up when it's 10 degrees out and wind is blasting through the cracks around your windows like they're wide open. Just huddle up to that one warm spot that you can't ever turn up above 70 and you will be so toasty! Oh, and did I say $1100? I meant $1200. j/k, it's $1300. Who knows? It's going to feel like the notice that your rent is going to go up comes pretty much every single time you notice a new problem with the apartment. It's like riding the T all day, every day for the entire year! Hooray!

Anyone in Boston knows how rare service like that is to find, and in a snowstorm!?! They always find a way to surpass my expectations. For example, I need to renew my lease but have been really busy, and I keep getting calls from brokers in the area trying to show my apartment to clients. I called Alpha, and talked to Munther who was so understanding, he was able to work it out so that I wouldn't get any more calls or visits in the meantime! We scheduled a meeting with the agent in our area and from the moment we met with Christine Smith we knew we were in good hands. She was so patient with us - it took us a few months to get the ball rolling while we cleared up some issues with our pre-approval . She only showed us houses that fit our interest/budget and was never pushy. We found our dream home and everything was going so smoothly - until our bank lost our final deposit in the wire transfer the day of closing. We were slightly frantic when we heard we couldn't live in our new house until the money was found - Christine was phenomenal! Her knowledge base as a lawyer and a Realtor shined and she was so helpful in managing our personal housing nightmare. She answered our calls late friday night and early saturday morning - she always made herself available. Honestly, it was not expected of her but we know she gave up so much of her own personal time for us and we will be forever grateful. Our mess all got sorted out thanks to Christine and I am writing this from my new house now!

In short, Origin Property Group used misleading marketing materials (wildly inaccurate…read moremeasurements) for their apartment listing. The staircase and hallways were too narrow to move furniture and we had to have our furniture redirected to a storage facility. We slept on an air mattress for three months while we tried to work with Origin Property Group to release us from the lease. Besides not being able to move in to their apartment, there were a number of other awful attributes to our experience. There was an open bag of rat poison left on the kitchen floor. When asked about it, the property manager admitted that there was a mouse problem. There were mouse droppings all over the unit, including in the stove. Droppings burned whenever we tried cooking. We cleaned the unit (including inside the stove) on a weekly basis. The exterminator came often. The city did an inspection and said there was an infestation. Nonetheless, Origin Property Group would not release us from the lease. There was only enough hot water for a seven minute shower. We timed it. We told the property manager and the maintenance people supposedly adjusted the hot water heater. Regardless, the available hot water was not extended beyond seven minutes. Finally, the most egregious offense was that Origin Property Group provided the door code to real estate agents and maintenance people. They listed the apartment as vacant and available and an agent came into our unit for a showing, completely unannounced. We immediately called and emailed the property manager because we felt unsafe knowing that people could just come into the apartment. The property manager did not get back to us so we filed a police report. Even after this, we were often contacted by real estate agents with less than 24 hours notice that they wanted to show the apartment. When we moved out three months later, Origin Property Group kept our security deposit and threatened to sue us for the rest of the lease. It was an absolute nightmare of an experience and I urge you to avoid this property group.

There properties are top notch. I moved into a newly renovated apartment with great security and for a very accessible amount of money. I have never before dealt with a management company that provided such excellent care for their tenants as Isalia. For example, they noticed that in our apartment building, at least 4 or 5 of us were carrying our bikes up and down the stairs to the basement every day. They bought a bike rack and installed it so we would have a secure and dry place to lock up our bikes. They came in to change the air filters without us asking. In my experience, they have been outstanding and caring. Our apartment came with a flat-screen TV, hardwood floors, all new appliances, central AC/heat, washer and dryer, marble countertops, spacious living room, and for an accessible amount of money. They have developed a deposit system that makes paying rent much easier. I cannot emphasize enough how great these guys have been to us!

He seemed to know well a lot of landlords in the area and got me a great deal. I liked him so much that I convinced my brother to buy his apartment through him...and once again got a great deal. The owner of the place, Joe, is also a great guy. He makes you feel right at home. I guess I really liked this place because its a small office that people that seem to care about where you are going to live.
