We used Sean for our engagement photos after finding him on LivingSocial. We wanted to do our shoot along the water in Hoboken where we got engaged and although Hoboken was out of the deal range, Sean was still willing to travel across the river and work with us for an excellent price. Sean was very responsive to all our emails and what we wanted to do in the shoot. He shot us in locations/poses that we would have never expected to turn out so great. In fact, one of our favorite pictures is one that he took of us sitting on a curb! He also captured the Hoboken riverfront and view of the river and Manhattan so perfectly, these pictures have really captured our engagement spot for us and helped to preserve the memory so well. I really felt that Sean enjoyed the shoot with us and didn't just think of it as a job, he really wanted to get the best out of the location and even added extra time to our session. Following the shoot, Sean was very prompt about working with us to select the pictures we wanted and make special edits to them. Despite being on vacation, he was able to turn them around for us in our desired timeframe. My fiancé and I had the pleasure of working with Sean several weeks ago for my engagement photos. Initially when I contacted Sean I explained to him that I would like to take the photos somewhere that was very green and a place that had a lake or pond as a backdrop. While I threw out a few suggestions, he proposed that Central Park would be a great location as it had all of the attributes I was looking for and more. To be honest, I was a bit apprehensive because I thought Central Park was too commercial, however I trusted his opinion and I'm certainly glad I did! There were so many hidden gems that I have never seen before: beautiful greenery with amazing backdrops, surrounded by unique architecture. Throughout the different locations of the park, he had us do a variety of poses and was open to anything that we wanted to do. We had the good fortune to select Sean to shoot the all-important yearbook photos for my son's senior year in high school. I can't say enough how impressed I am with his eye, his professional smarts, and his easygoing manner, which won over my rather reserved son and made our session with him a breeze. He took over 300 shots around Central Park in little more than an hour, and quite literally not one was bad!!! The locations were not all standard, and the placement and lighting were always very artistic but felt unposed and true to life. I joined in at the end for some slightly zany parent-child shots, which I'm really glad we did and I recommend to all families. My fiance and I had a great experience getting our engagement photos with Sean. Even though we were 20 minutes late to our appointment, he was totally understanding and professional! We managed to get 240 shots in and he event went a little over because we were late. We did the shoot in Central Park with our 2 chihuahuas--Sean was very good with the dogs and managed to hold them and shoot pictures in shots that were just the 2 of us. Even though we are totally not photogenic, Sean had good sites and good ideas of poses and I really treasure these photos. In terms of nuts and bolts with engagement photos, Sean charged us 150 for the hour (so much more reasonable than other photographers I looked at). He gave us the 240 photos to look through in low-res, then we selected our top 20 photos, and he doctored them and gave us each of our favorites in high-res, one color and one black and white. I would recommend Sean to anyone doing engagement photos, and definitely definitely go to central park! read more

Sean Shapiro did such an amazing job on our engagement photos! He was very professional from the first inquiry email response all the way until we received our final retouched photo choices. He came prepared and equipped with everything he needed for a successful session. Even though it was a very hot day, he withstood the heat while maintaining his composure and holding all his equipment. He previously held sessions before at our location, so he knew the best places to take shots, and gave us very easy directions on what to do during the shoot. Sean is amazing!! We had a two hour engagement photo session in Hoboken, NJ. This was our first time taking professional photos together, so we were obviously a little nervous, but Sean put us at ease and managed to get tons of great pictures. In the two hours, he took hundreds of pictures, giving us a really nice selection to choose from! We even took some pictures with our puppy, who is still learning commands, and Sean didn't mind, and was super patient with our dog. I used Sean's service for a headshot. However, unlike the professional one, I wanted a more casual headshot so I could look more approachable/natural. Sean had a busy schedule, but he tried his best to accommodate my schedule. During the photoshoot, he made me feel at ease and we tried different poses that would look both natural and great for the photos I need. Based on my needs, we switched a few locations to get a different take on the style. One week after the photoshoot, he sent me a list of thumbnails for me to choose the ones that I like the most. We shot in the Washington Square Park area, and he knew all the right places to shoot for the best lighting and visual concept I was looking for. We met with Sean for our engagement photos. Even before we met in person Sean was super responsive and accommodating of our ideas and tight schedule. I recently had Sean do some headshots for me and I had a great time! He beautifully edited the photos and as mentioned in the comments below, he quickly had them back to me. He is not only very professional but makes you feel at ease. He knows how to make poses look good and natural.
