Since I travel to Louisville with moderate frequency, it's no problem to have a doc there. Wait time for new patients was 2 weeks, below average of other places I called. The main thing is that Dr Gilberts took her time and didn't rush me out. We had engaging conversation and she easily established trust. It was frankly the first time I did NOT feel like another faceless copayment. I felt human and like she genuinely cared about the outcome of my health. Needless to say I highly recommend Dr Gilberts and I am excited to have finally located a doctor that understands me. All other neurotic hypochondriac entrepreneurs and professionals will feel right at home, just like me :)

She takes time to listen to my concerns, she is very thorough and she makes sure I understand what is going on. I have never had a NP to contact me directly with results like she does and I feel like I'm more than just another patient to her. Community Medical Center is not a large center but it is the most efficient computer literate medically knowledgeable polite and kind practice I have ever been to including large medical centers in Los Angeles and San Diego. Every office person at the entrance behind the windows at desks with computers and modernized databases are cheerful, professional, welcoming, quick and respectful. The hallways and exam rooms are spotlessly clean and disinfected with gurneys and furniture lower and designed for people of all ages and abilities. They seem to have their own lab with a cheerful respectful phlebotomist and the physician sits with the patient closely and asks detailed questions that he acts on immediately via his or her computer so that before you even leave the office he has (in my case and other) already made referrals for tests or scans or X-rays or to specialists or to pharmacist. You are automatically set up on their website so that you can sign in and see your test results or orders to specialists or tests and can easily message the physician with questions and they many times message you with what is being done found out or recommended. The website js set up to keep the patient as a partner with the doctor. Dr. Ingwersen validated everything I told her on my first consultation/visit. After meeting with her I was referred and sent to 2 specialists, one of which was an allergist. My former doctor just shrugged off my allergies and basically told me to deal with it. Thanks to Dr. Ingwersen I am now at maintenance level of allergy shots and feel better than I have in years. I spent 5 years with my former PC physician and 10 minutes with Dr. Ingwersen. She gave me more care than he ever did.

Fast forward to a catastrophic accident and she was there to walk the extra mile with me. A couple of years later, following a broken elbow, she advised me which ER to visit and then had a back-up plan if they were too busy to see me. Each time I go in for a check-up, she knows me and as we discuss the results of my exams and blood work, she makes sure I understand the significance of any issue. While the Practice is currently associated with Baptist Health, the people in the office have been extremely helpful, courteous, and proactive. My son is now a patient of Dr. Pendleton and is very satisfied with the professionalism shown him.

This physician recommended I have an MRI and the office was to fax a referral to the diagnostic center. I made several phone calls requesting the referral and the diagnostic center called as well. The day before the MRI was scheduled they had not received the referral, and I called again requesting it be faxed. When I arrived for the MRI they had still not received the referral and required yet another phone call. When the Dr. office called with the results from the MRI, it was a clerk who called me, not the Dr. and she could not answer any questions. When I asked to speak with the Dr, I was told she was not in. I was told to see a specialist. I made an appointment with a specialist and called this practice requesting a referral be faxed to the specialist. I called several times and was assured the referral had been faxed. When I arrived for the appointment with the specialist they told me the referral had not been sent. After numerous phone calls the specialist finally received the faxed referral, but the Dr. office had the incorrect practice name and ultimately I could not be seen. I had to drive to Greater Lou. Internal Med. office and request the correct referral be faxed. I must wait another week to be seen by the specialist. It appears to me the entire office is staffed with incompetent employees, who care very little about customer service or the well being of their patients. They consistently blamed the fax problems on the offices receiving the faxes. I can understand that happening once but not twice in a couple of weeks. Perhaps it is a leadership problem or a lack of interest on the part of all Drs. and staff at Greater Lou. Internal Medicine. The office appears to be very unorganized and to be honest dirty. I will not return to the practice for any reason.
