I haven't learned all their names yet but everyone has been so nice and polite. Heidi Gallo is the best NP that I have ever had. She takes time to listen to my concerns, she is very thorough and she makes sure I understand what is going on. I have never had a NP to contact me directly with results like she does and I feel like I'm more than just another patient to her. I hope that she stays right where she is because I fear I would never find such a caring health care provider such as her. I would recommend this facility to anyone.

The RN that started my IV was great. The staff was very nice & took me back within a few minutes…read more I've met the Dr & liked him. They sedated me alright. I was outta it after the procedure. I've never been released from a procedure/ofc-clinic being that "out of it". Problem began when I called after a week of having really bad pain (I'd had a cervical RFA-nerve burning) Nobody warned me I'd be in that kind of pain! I'd had a lower back RFA elsewhere & didn't have any probs. I called on a Monday. The girl let me know immediately they had 24-48 hrs to call me back, rather rudely & abruptly. Every other practice I've ever gone to, if I had had a procedure @ their ofc w THEIR Dr & called w questions or concerns, they'd call me back ASAP. Most practices want to either reassure you, answer questions or find out if you're having a more serious complication from the procedure, as they may need to intervene. Not here! Forget that. On Weds., I called back again as NO ONE had bothered calling me & I was still in a lot of pain & still having to take pain meds around the clock. The guy informed me there was no record of me ever having called. Well, you can imagine how that affected me. Here I am, in bad pain & nobody would've called me back! And then he had the audacity to say they had 24-48 hrs to call me back! At that, I went off & expressed exactly how I felt. Told them what PISS POOR CARE that was & if that was how they treated their pts., that I (as a new pt) may have to find another clinic for pain Mgmt. I snapped "I've ALREADY WAITED 48 hrs & may be having a complication from the procedure!" They simply DO NOT CARE. Obviously, they're either over-run w pts or are short-staffed or BOTH? Friday came & went & they NEVER EVER called me back! A week came & went & not one person bothered calling me back after I called from being in excruciating pain x a wk. UNBELIEVABLE!

Women's First almost killed me…read more I was diagnosed with a life-threatening cornual ectopic pregnancy and told I would lose my pregnancy and need emergency surgery. After receiving that news, I was sent home to wait. As my pain worsened, I went to UofL, only to discover they had little information about my case. I spent 8 hours bleeding and in severe pain before receiving treatment due to the incompetence of Women's First offices and Dr. Margarita Terrassa. Throughout the process, communication was chaotic and poorly coordinated. My husband and I were repeatedly left sitting in waiting areas after learning our pregnancy was not viable, while staff seemed unaware of why we were there. We felt like an annoyance rather than patients experiencing a medical emergency. I had repeatedly disclosed a history of sexual assault in a medical setting, yet received no trauma-informed care and was forced to retell that history multiple times. Most shocking of all, after emergency surgery and pregnancy loss, I received no follow-up call, no check-in, and no effort to schedule post-operative care. It has been 10 days. I called the office to raise concerns, and they have hung up on me three times. Complications happen. A complete lack of coordination, compassion, accountability, and follow-up should not. Women's First is the wrong place to seek care

Are you sure I can't award Dr Kamal ten stars? She certainly deserves far more than five stars! Dr…read moreKamal is the newest Endocrinologist in the U of L Endocrinology and Diabetic Associates practice. My vote was out for maybe five minutes or less until we met her. She is young but don't hold that against her! Dr Palwasha Kamal specializes in Endocrinology and Diabetic Nutritional Care. She is an excellent communicator. While in the waiting room I listened as two older ladies left an appointment in this office. They were conversing about the doctors thoroughness and totally delightful personality. Yep, they must have just seen Dr Kamal because that is exactly our opinion of her also. She spent much more time than I'm accustomed to with providers in this office. She reviewed ALL the lab results from recent tests and previous tests to form an opinion on how well diabetes was being controlled. She made note that one portion of the blood work had not been completed and asked that we stop at the lab before leaving so she could see complete results. She noted that I had a complaint of allergic reaction to my husband's use of insulin and asked us about that. I had since seen an allergist and was able to explain to her my rare reaction (1 in 500,000) to the phenol m- cerosol preservative was causing me major adverse symptoms that ended once my husband changed to another injectable diabetes medicine. Dr Kamal also wanted to try my husband on a constant glucose monitor over his twice daily finger prick tests. When my husband said our insurance doesn't cover that she said they could perform it as a ten day trial on a loaner basis. So at her recommendation we took care of that with this visit and just needed to return the monitor after ten days. What a difference a doctor can make. Dr Kamal is FANTASTIC! She will be my husband's Endocrinologist in the future and recommends seeing him every other appointment with the alternate visit still handled by PA Melanie. We look forward to her future care and recommend her to patients needing to see an Endocrinologist. I still say she deserves ten stars!

I could have sung the praises of Dr Brown through the years but I wanted to wait until I actually experienced his expertise in Total Knee Replacement surgery. I have needed knee replacement surgery for years but for a variety of reasons the timing was never right. Thirty years ago when I lived in California the problem the doctor identified was I was just TOO young to be a candidate for surgery. Twenty-five years ago after moving to the Louisville KY area I got started at a different orthopedic doctor's office and was told that other than knee injections there was no other option due to metal allergies that included titanium , cobalt and nickel. Injections in my knees were useless as the first day it increased the pain, the second and third day after were great, and then it was back to my original condition. Ten years ago a Physical Therapist I was being treated by mentioned Dr Brown as he had performed knee replacement surgery on the Therapist's mother. My first appointment with Dr Brown I was sold that I finally had found the correct professional. Upon arriving for my appointment a full set of x-rays on both knees were taken. Dr Brown needed no time in evaluating the x-rays and exclaimed I needed knee surgery for years. Yep, I knew that but thought I was going to lower the boom when I told him of my metal allergies. No, he had the answer. He exited the exam room and re-entered with an actual knee replacement kit (not even a sample but the actual surgical kit). Dr Brown explained that the joint would be made of Zirconium and the replacement bone could be made of polypropylene (layman's term = plastic). Great news! To proceed Dr Brown wanted additional allergy testing that was different than the standard patch testing. This allergy testing used blood to do a blood antigen test on everything that would be used during surgery such as specific cement, etc. While waiting for the results I promised Dr Brown I would work on losing some weight as it would be helpful in the overall surgery process. I also agreed to work on warm water physical therapy to be in the best condition possible for surgery and recovery. Based on my knee conditions Dr Brown wanted to replace the right knee first. Fast forward several years and my left knee was in HORRIBLE condition and I couldn't stand on the left knee/leg at all. Unfortunately that emergency appointment was with Dr Brown's APRN Craig. Oops, Craig found an additional problem and called Dr Brown in for a consult. No surgery could not happen. Dr Brown explained that with a pulse of 32 he couldn't do surgery. He instructed me to work with my Cardiologist to get a pace maker and then he would consider Knee Replacement Surgery. This review will not go into all the trials and tribulations of getting a pacemaker other than to say it took YEARS! In the meantime I made another appointment with Dr Brown because I thought I was having right hip problems. Dr Brown was so on top of things he immediately could say the problem is not your hip but appears to be a back problem. He ordered an MRI that confirmed exactly what he thought. From that information he said DO NOT CONSIDER BACK SURGERY but referred me to pain management. Finally back to June 2025. I had left Total Knee Replacement by Dr Brown. He requires all patients take a webinar class prior to surgery so you know exactly what to expect. In my final appointment with him prior to surgery he warned me I was in End Stage Osteoarthritis and that the surgery was not going to be a breeze. Together understanding the condition, the allergies, etc. he would do his best to avoid problems. I had total faith in him and experienced fantastic surgery and outcome. If you need an excellent orthopedic doctor for knee replacement or hip replacement Dr Brown is my recommendation!
