We called last Wednesday because our refrigerator went out again after it was repaired by them 2 weeks prior. The tech came out Thursday, tested the unit, took videos and pictures and sent in for the Warranty company Sears protect to replace the refrigerator. I call Monday and they said they got the notes and an email will be sent to me by Thursday witj options to pick out a new one. So of course nothing but lies, I called back Thursday after not receiving an email and they stated they have to send another tech out because the first tech didn't put in for a replacement, but I clearly saw him do so. So know we have to wait another 10 days with a family of 6 with out a refrigerator. Not only that they said we can do a virtual call at first and never called. He worked on the unit for a little while and then sat in his vehicle for about 45 minutes then left without letting me know what's wrong with the unit. This is not about the current technician as I am sure he is excellent. I did not actually get the chance to meet him. This review is focused on the previous technician as well as the company as I am gravely disappointed in the interaction I have had with your company. My initial appointment was set for January 19, 2025 which was approximately 4 to 6 weeks after service was requested for my refrigerator. I was then contacted by your company and asked if I wanted to move my appointment up by about a week. Of course, I said yes. However, when the day of my appointment arrived, I was given an unacceptably large time window of 7 AM until 5 PM for when the service provider could arrive. I am sure any sensible human can understand that this is in fact not a time window but an entire work day. I had to take off of work for the whole day and use vacation days in order to cover this. Despite my commitment to being home for the appointment, no one ever arrived at my house. Exactly 10 minutes before 5 PM, I was informed that my technician had canceled for a family emergency. On the Sears Home Service web app, his truck was located around Baton Rouge at that time. While I certainly wish the best to this technitian's family, I'm sure you can understand why I am skeptical that there was a family emergency that canceled my appointment. I would certainly hate for someone at the company to be abusing this needed cancellation policy if there was not truly a family emergency. The circumstances surrounded this cancellation were highly concerning. I then called customer service and had one of the worst experiences I have had with any company of the past few years. I was told that my appointment would be rescheduled for February 10, almost a month later which of course is completely unacceptable. When I explained the situation, I was told nothing could be done. I explained how if I would have simply kept my original appointment, I would have been serviced than agreeing to take the earlier appointment. I then commented on the absurdity of this as I did not ask for an earlier appointment, but was provided with the option for one. I then asked for an email stating that your company had canceled my appointment for a so-called family emergency under suspicious circumstances. I was told that this was physically not possible. Of course this statement makes no sense whatsoever. How could you be physically incapable of writing or constructing an email saying that your company cancelled my appointment and that the next available date was a month away? The service representative was completely incapable of addressing my problem from any standpoint. I was then hung up on after asking to speak to somebody at a higher level of management. After calling back between 3 to 4 more times and navigating the automated answering service which is constructed around making it nearly impossible to call to a human, I finally spoke with Someone who told me that your company WAS in fact capable of sending me an email stating that my appointment been canceled and the next available was almost a month later. In order to speak to this human, I had to "back door" my way into talking to someone in a completely different department by saying I was having warranty issues with a made up product and then get transferred to this representative. i explained to the representative that I needed an email from your company to give to General electric to let them know that we needed to find another more professional company to fix my refrigerator given the multitude of problems I had with your company. Again, this email was sent to me by this customer service agent without issue after several others had repeatedly told me they were completely incapable of sending an email. I then called General Electric (who my fridge was made by and who helped locate your services) to tell them my ongoing issues with your unprofessional company. They understood my situation, and as luck would have it, your company texted me while I was on the phone with General electric. In an almost comical situation, my February appointment was canceled and moved back until today, February 19. Of course you can again understand how wildly unacceptable this type of customer service is. General electric was able to provide me with a brand new refrigerator given the time it took your company to drag their feet on my problem. I honestly think they felt bad for me given the problems I had with Sears. My level of disappointment with your company is unmeasurable at this point. I am happy to recount all of these details to someone else over the phone or through email as I truly feel like there is so much room for improvement with your company that I am willing to take extra time out of my day in order to provide more feedback to prevent another human being from having to deal with this situation. Value is OUTRAGEOUS. The technician arrived at 11:22 AM left at 12:15 PM, so entire diagnostic and repair duration was less than an hour, 53 minutes to be exact, and Sears Home Services charged $314 for the labor cost. The repair was for a gas oven igniter. This labor cost of $314 was is addition to the cost of the new igniter. I can't express my disconcern enough about how Sears established it labor cost, but $314 per hour, simply seems out of line. Would I recommend Sears Home Services for home appliances repair to any of my friends or even enemies? Not in a million years. read more

When he got to my washer, I asked him to listen to my washer to hear if a sound and noise I heard was normal. He said he didn't have time to do this and suggested I set up a repair appointment. He told me he was a refrigerator technician and could only spot check other appliances and left. He was going to charge me for the service. I told him I had a maintenance agreement.I wasn't charged. The repairman told me my washer was fixed.. Minutes later after he was gone I put a load in no luck. My washer is still broken. Two lessons I learned the hard way: 1. Unreal! My mother who is disabled, needed her ice maker fixed. Long story short, they came five times and still not fixed. Last visit, the service man took the ordered ice maker and said he'd be right back and never came back. After numerous calls, they are now saying it's been over 90 days and will do nothing. He was great but is retiring next week and he did not know when someone would be out to fix what I needed fixed and wanted me to pay almost $600 today not knowing when someone would be back out to fix it. He stated it could take months before someone would get back to me and with all of this that was known before he came, I still had to pay $152.00 and nothing was fixed. It is insane that the part was $40 to replace and the half hour of labor was $300. Had filed a BBB complaint a month ago and have recently been communicated with by a person from Tranform Hold Co. (repair service of Sears Co.) but only after I had to find another avenue via Facebook messenger to communicate my issue. After communicating my issue AGAIN that the refrigerator is still not repaired, the Transform Hold Co. representative just made another appointment (a fifth) for Monday but requested another technician. Sadly, I hold no huge expectation. I've had a Sears Home Warranty for about 2 years. My first experience with them was for a washing machine problem. They wanted to schedule the repair for two weeks out. I cancelled the appointment and found a faster option. Most recently, our refrigerator started giving over-temperature alerts, indicating that it was not cooling properly. Sears sent a repairman on 10/21 who dismantled the lower portion of the refrigerator and installed some new parts behind the freezer drawer, but he got frustrated because he could not reassemble the freezer drawer and left without finishing the job. He told me he needed a second technician to come and help him and that it couldn't be done for another two days. (Meanwhile, I'd had to store the food from the frig in a cooler, and that turned out bad.) When I pressed the repairman to please come back the next day, he texted "Please call Sears to have another service center complete your work order," and would not answer my texts or calls after that. I have called the Sears toll-free number 6 times in 3 days and gotten no help. They tell me that I need to contact that same repairman and set up a time, but of course he does not respond to my texts and calls. Three times the Sears phone reps said they would "refer my problem to a Regional Manager" who would call me (no one ever called) and the last time I called (after going through the long automated menu again), I got a message saying their voice mailbox was full. Their website is totally useless also. If you try to schedule an appointment on the website, the first dates they give you are two weeks out. There are MUCH better home warranty companies out there- just Google "Home Warranty ratings". Sears doesn't even make it into the top 10. read more

I had a icemaker repair yesterday. The technician charged my visa $378 . He assured me all was well and left before any ice was made. Of course, the icemaker never made ice. I have called and rescheduled a recall appointment but the earliest available is in 15 days.! I have called several Sears national numbers and been transferred to another department and on 2 separate occasions the call has been terminated while I was on hold. Nice strategy.! This is pathetic service and why should I be billed for service that never repaired the issue.? My service order number here in Baton Rouge was 40004666 and service date 9/9/2019. I made a call for service on my washing machine from Sears weeks in advance. I received several emails so I know they were aware of the appointment. On the day of the appointment, Sears was supposed to be there between 8-12. I waited until 12:15 and started calling every half hour or so. Charged me $221.42 in just labor. From the time the technician knocked on my door to the time I received an email of the receipt for the completed repair was 50 minutes. I was also told the $89 diagnostic charge would be absorbed into the cost of the repair if I decided to proceed with the repair. After the fact when I called about it, I was told that is not the case and when I asked to speak to a supervisor, which took 45 minutes, I was told no supervisor was available and to call back. So even with the diagnostic charge, that leaves $132.42 for a 15 minute repair because that's how long it took him to actually replace the part. read more

They tell false information to customers and flat out lie to customers. They transfer you to 4 or 5 different departments and no one knows what is going on. They promised my mom a new washer then told her that wasn't going to happen. They still insist the parts are coming, but everyday no parts!!! My mom is elderly and having to wash clothes 4 times by hand to get them clean, we are buying detergent every 2 days to make sure clothes are clean and free of germs such as COVID!!! Terrible Customer service.. 4 different calls order cancelled, no record found, and very orders each time.

My problem started July 7, 2018 with code "1F" appearing on my Kenmore Elite refrigerator which was still under a 3 year warranty. I called the service number and Tech "1" shows up and states rudely I am not here to fix Your refrigerator only perform maintenance. Ok, so he performs maintenance and we ask about the problem. Tech "1" says you have to wait until tomorrow and call again for service. Finally tech "2" arrives approximately 2 weeks later and says he doesn't know anything about the code "1F" but we need a new main board for the refrigerator. It will be shipped to the house in 3 to 5 days and to call him and he will come and install. Well we call but no answer so I call the main number and they say I have an appt for Aug 24. The earliest they can be here. So I purchased a counter top ice maker so I didn't have to buy ice constantly as there are 5 adults living at the house. Wonderful Frigidaire product. On the 24 of Aug tech "3" arrives puts the board in and was proceeding to leave without testing, we made him wait while we tested the water. Success! Or so I thought within 3 hours I had no ice or water and code "1f" reappeared. Contact Sears nothing they can do because tech "3" has left the house. Support will gladly open a new call. Ok, I'll admit I got a little mad with them and finally spoke with a manger who promptly sent out the next day tech "4" who scanned the temperature of the refrigerator which had not been a problem and said I must have received a defective board. He said he wasn't sure why tech "2" had ordered that board when I obviously needed a computer board for the water dispenser again I asked about the code indicating I needed a fan for the ice maker. He said he didn't know the code but I only needed the "2" boards. Indicated I should be happy it is just the ice and water because he has had customers without a refrigerator since January. In 3 to 5 days I should receive the boards and it is a standard ONE month return to install. I can call to see if they can come out earlier. Well, within hours of tech "4" leaving the house, I now have NO ICE, WATER, or WORKING refrigerator or FOOD. Contacted online support as I had done the night before, but told I had to wait until tomorrow. Same tech online who checks the notes and says the boards are ordered and that's all that can happen. I could file a claim for food damages, I asked where was I suppose to put the replacement food. Just wait. Someone who had read my last review at sears offered me a 3 month extension on my warranty, gave me a number to call saying maybe they can assist with helping figure something out about my NO refrigerator situation and food replacement. So here I wait. Am I frustrated and not excited about an extension on a warranty which has not resolved anything. It seems the codes displayed are for looks not diagnosing problems. worst customer service ever. purchased a kenmore elite refrigerator that is less than a year and a half old. i understand that things happen, it's life. what i found unreasonable is that sears expected me to wait over a week just to diagnose what was wrong with our refrigerator, so we had someone else come and diagnose the problem. it needed a compressor and a drier. called sears to see about warranty and they said compressor was covered but not the drier or the labor. never during the many phone calls (or when we purchased it) were we told that if we had someone other than a sears technician come and look at our appliance that it would void any warranty. i then asked since we had a diagnosis could they have the parts on the truck if in fact the sears technician found the same thing wrong. lance while he was extremely unpleasant and rude but said yes they could if they had them in stock, also said he was unable to tell me if they were in stock or not. so i called sears parts and verified that they did have the parts in stock, again asked if he could have them put on the truck for when the technician came-he told me no he could not help me. called service back to let them know parts are in stock can they put them on the truck like lance agreed to. again i received a no, in fact the would not get me back to lance had to deal with faye you who was even more unpleasant and rude than lance and hung up on me. please keep in mind i had never raised my voice or said anything ugly to anyone. i was given a quote for the tech to come and diagnose the problem and also to repair if in fact he found the same thing wrong. so that means we wait 8 days for tech to come and diagnose, then they have to order parts and make another appointment to come and repair. sears thinks it is reasonable to wait 3-4 weeks to have my refrigerator repaired. i have read many reviews on how bad sears customer service was but that the technicians were very knowledgeable and nice. tech shows up, diagnoses that we need a compressor and drier, also immediately tells us that our 10 year warranty is voided because someone other than a sears tech has looked at it. he also then removed all of our freon before we even agreed to the repair. correct me if i am wrong, i understand that the freon needs to be recovered but why can't the person we decide to do the repair do that,when the repair is done? (note: system was not leaking) we had not agreed at this point to allow him to do the repair. i feel like he did that for spite. our tech was trimani r., every single question i asked was not ever answered. so when i would ask the question again he would raise his voice and skirt around the answer. we verbally agreed to have him do the repair but asked what was the time frame. he told us he could not give me a time frame until i signed the agreement. also told us even though they would repair-still no warranty. no warranty on his work either. i signed the agreement(even though every price i was quoted from sears parts dept and the labor quoted from the repair dept. was higher, not tons but higher). he then said we needed to pay for the whole job before he left. told him that no i was not doing that. i would pay for his time today and would pay the rest once the job was complete. he said no. so he then went back and declined the repair-remember he could not give me a time frame until i accepted the repair. why couldn't he do that to give me a time frame before??? i am in the customer service industry so i understand there are policy and procedures that need to be followed but i have never dealt with such combative people in my life that seem to take pride in not helping the customer at all. people need to know about sears, we have found out the hard way that the salespeople will tell you anything to sell an appliance or in our case many appliances. the service dept tells you one thing and then the technician tells you/quotes you something entirely different. i am so disappointment right now and i hope this saves someone from going through this same nightmare that we have had to go through. read more
