We started with the cod croquettes. They were light and fluffy and the aioli was delicious. Next was the mozzarella and raw courgette. I was skeptical about the raw courgette but I loved it and ate more than my fair share. Next was the star of the night for me- the ricotta gnocchi. It was one of the best pastas I've ever had, and I wish I could recreate the sauce at home! Next was the second star- the baked cuttlefish pasta. Super skeptical here again because I normally don't like inked pasta, but my husband wanted it. It was sooooo good. We ended with an eclair and I was stuffed and happy! Can't recommend enough!

Luckily, the food at Westerns Laundry was better than the outcome of the game. I really enjoyed all the food. Salad with vinaigrette was great. Baked ricotta was yummy. Oyster of the day amazing. Anyway, almost did not come because of the negative reviews on the 'natural' wine. My conclusion: avoid the wine. Not sure why a great restaurant (who is on notice about the wine disaster) is dedicated to serving kombucha instead of having a solid list. Stick with the excellent beer and cocktails (the white port and tonic is amazing). Better luck for the Gunners in the future, but Westerns Laundry is worth the trip regardless.

My favourite place to eat in Crouch End, if I can get a table that is!…read more I'm a big fan of their version of jerk chicken! It was a slight bastardisation of what I'm used to, but even though it's not quite authentic, it was bloody lovely! The addition of a pot of peanut sauce is GENIUS! I opted for a coke float, although I was hoping for a can of Ting or some Bigga Grape, but meh, the coke float was pretty great too! Mrs D had a fry-up which looked great, but couldn't compete with my chicken. It's not a cheap meal out, and some of the staff seem to cope with the constant throng of customers better than others, but I love it here anyway, and I'll definitely be back.

I went travelling for 7 months in between now and then and can sincerely say their food is the stuff you dream about when you're stuck in the middle of a strange country without your home comforts. It was also one of my first stops upon returning to London. My only slight criticism is the amount of time you sometimes wait to be served and perhaps certain staff could be slightly more friendly, but it is a minor flaw in an otherwise great restaurant. I recommend the jerk chicken sandwich, jerk chicken salad and jerk pork chop which is often on special. If you're not a fan of 'the jerk' don't worry, you can't go far wrong with any of the dishes really. And the prices are very reasonable. And as a quick aside I have dined on a table next to Simon Pegg, held the door open for Victoria Wood as she was leaving and there's a plaque claiming Bob Dylan was there in 1993. If it's good enough for them...

The menu has a good variety of pies and sides, but it isn't overwhelming. All of the pies are displayed in a heated case at the register. Once you choose the type of pie you'd like, they heat it up for you in the oven. The restaurant also has a small selection of beer. I went with a group of six for lunch and a beer before the Arsenal match. We couldn't leave London without trying their famous meat pies! I decided to order a side of mashed potatoes with gravy and the Tony Adams- Steak & Ale pie. I finished my whole plate in record time. Everything was delicious! The restaurant is kind of small and can get crowded. You order at the register. The line was a bit long, but it moved very quickly and was definitely worth the wait. There is minimal seating inside and a few tables outside. We decided to sit at the tall tables outdoors and watch the streets of London. It was an amazing experience! Definitely a must-visit in London!

This is truly been kept quite by the well heeled locals of Highgate and Dartmouth Park for too long. I would best describe this place as a posh fish shop. Forget any images of greasy, oily, bland fish and chips you may have experienced in the past. This is a whole other level. Firstly, the chips are triple cooked Maris Pipers which is (as all self respecting British connoisseur will know) the best roasting/ frying potato. The fish is locally sourced and would have been swimming around the North Sea no less than two days before. The fish is beer battered in locally brewed Camden Hells larger and it has to be one of the best pieces of batter you can get. It comes in at £11 which is slightly more than you would pay else where but the difference is roughly about £4 but well worth it. They also offer an array of other quality seafood based dishes all of which I haven't tried but on viewing look amazing. If in the N19/NW5 area or a tourist wishing to sample the national British dish at its truly best then defiantly go out of your way to visit. I've attached the menu with prices along with address so guys defiantly check it out if looking for a fish fix. I'll attach some more images when I next go in.
