Above all else, the Seasons has one thing going for it - location. Location, location, location. Immediately across from a tram stop with multiple lines, as well as the Botanic Garden, the Tan Track (great for running), and 15 minutes walking from the CBD. Location gets 4 stars no problem.
The hotel itself, however, isn't anything special. It's not bad, but it's not fantastic. A-OK is a perfect assessment of it, thus the 3 stars. My room, in the front building, was quite comfortable, but not perfect. The bed is comfortable, the couch is nice, and the kitchen/refrigerator/microwave is great. However, the bathroom is terrible and the shower is the worst (zero pressure and reminiscent of a cheap motel). I like to fall asleep with the TV on, but the TV is not only miniature, but on the other side of the room, very difficult to see from bed. Not to mention that I could hear just about every word spoken from my neighbor through the connecting door that did not seem all that secure. There is a safe, but you need to get a key from the front desk. Really? Finally, Internet is atrociously expensive, and not at all WiFi.
Now, that is a lot of negatives, but the location and bed make up for it partly. I feel very comfortable giving it 3 stars, but would not give it any more. read more
