It lasted about 90 minutes. There was a lot to watch. Only the 6 year old got antsy, and that was towards the end. The church is "T" shaped; try to sit as close to the intersection as possible, and you'll be able to see everything. The stained glass windows are amazing, although they required a bit of explaining to our UU kids. The "festival" is actually a pageant. The audience participates by singing. The program has all the words to the Christmas songs; we sang about 10. The show includes wonderful costumes on about 75 performers. They range from children to older adults. There were goats and camels, too! We will be attending next year also. Extra hints: get there about an hour early to get good seats, parking is limited also, the festival is free, but donations of any size are encouraged.

While I didn't get to visit inside of this church due to all activities being outdoors, I wanted to share about the camaraderie that seriously impressed me. All church members working alongside festival organizers were extremely welcoming.They were eager to share information about their church and just genuinely friendly. It was so heartwarming to witness one of the members discuss how welcoming they are of other cultures and views. I strongly feel that this type of atmosphere is a culture here and transfers to other church events and routine services. The people here are really gold - accepting, welcoming, and loving. I'm grateful that I got to spend an afternoon here. The church offers ample parking onsite. As you navigate to this church, make sure to make a turn into the right driveway. It's easy to miss a turn and pull into the park's parking lot. I would highly recommend attending events at this church and meeting its members!

Church of the Covenant is a stunning architectural gem in University Circle. It's a sight to see -…read morebuilt in 1911 in the English Gothic style. The Alexander McGaffin Memorial Tower and Carillon is part of the church. The tower contains 47 bells crafted in the Netherlands and recently lovingly shipped to Cleveland. The church was extremely proud of new carillons! While I'm not a parishioner at this church, I attended their lunchtime carillon concert multiple times last summer and this summer. The concerts last 30 minutes, guests can attend in person or watch the concert via live stream. Guests attending in person listen to the concert from their vehicles or picnic nearby benches/grass. The recommended listening location is the grounds around and behind the tower away from the sounds of the city. I like to stand right in front of the tower and enjoy the music, seldom bring my picnic. Following the concerts guests can meet the carillon musicians. The concert schedule can be found on the tower's website or social media. I was lucky to meet the carillon musicians during their carillon programs around the city. They impressed me with their love of music, passion for carillon playing, commitment to the community, and hospitality. I have yet to visit Church of the Covenant for a Sunday service, and hope to do this soon. I really look forward to more concerts this summer. It's absolutely incredible that we have multiple carillons in our city, they are very rare in the US. If you have not yet heard carillon, you absolutely must visit. It's so magical!

It's resplendent and gorgeous and really fits in, especially in such an Old World style City as Cleveland which just happens to be in the Americas. St. Mary's is a beautiful church with plenty of colourful pictures on the walls and ceilings. The church service that I attended was in Romanian and English. There were some traditional things done, talking by the Priest, and singing. The church service was over 2 hours. I arrived with my neighbour around 10am and we left at noon. When we left, they were still doing service. Perhaps the day we came was longer because a new Priest was being appointed. Overall, I enjoyed visiting an Orthodox Church for the first time. It's nice that Romanians and anyone can come here and feel God's presence. The church has ample space inside with the main worship space, event space, library, and gallery. The focal point of this church is a unique organ built by the Holtkamp Organ Company in 1977 that is played during service. Old Stone Church also hosts events for the community. Periodically you can visit a tour of the church that is mostly self-led. There are also culinary chef events that feature local chefs providing cooking demonstrations and lunches. All events can be easily found on the church's website, Eventbrite, and Facebook. I have visited this church on multiple occasions. Once for a tour and more recently for a food event. Everyone is absolutely welcoming and wonderful whether you are part of this church or a mere visitor. Parking at the church is a bit complex during your first time. Old Stone Church has Sunday service permit parking on the east and west sides of Ontario St (across from the entrance to our Parish House) and the south side of Rockwell Ave. A parking attendant (visible with a green vest) is always standing where the next car is to park. You can visit the church to obtain the parking permit and display it on your windshield if you're visiting for worship or events. If you're a visitor in Cleveland, I highly recommend adding Old Stone Church to your itinerary. However, prior to your visit, ensure that the church is open. They have limited hours of operations and usually don't have the church part open during events.

We went looking for just a nice normal gospel preaching church with nice normal people but we found this church was not what it seemed on the outside... Although everyone was very friendly and really wanted us to come back, this church turned me off in many ways which I will list below. There are; however, people who love to attend and have been going for decades and I'm sure there will be other visitors who enjoy the church. The church was extremely small and consisted of; the pastor, the pianist, the choir of 6 people, a young family of 4, and a handful of older people. We were told repeatedly that everyone went out of town for the weekend, although if even 50% of people were travelling for Memorial Day, it's still an extremely small congregation. So given this church has been around for a while, you have to ask yourself, "why is this the case?"... Some of the friendly people include the first trans-species human I have ever witnessed, who wanted to babysit my son, as well as a woman who kept referring to my son as "it" even though we told her he was a boy and he looked very much like a boy in every way. "Is it a boy or a girl?" "What's its name?" And "aww it's so cute!" She said these things because he apparently hasn't chosen his gender yet... -_- The pastor had a prayer time in which he asked everyone to write on a card some area of injustice that was weighing on our hearts so we could pray about it. He then collected the cards and prayed for every politically correct social justice issue as if taken straight from CNN. These controversial dividing topics triggered the kind of feeling you want to have in church. He brought up all of the injustices in the world to our attention, creating the feeling of division and inequality, perpetuating the "victim mentality" that plagues our country, without offering Jesus Christ as the solution. After the prayer, he had the other 2 children in the service sit with him on the stage of the sanctuary in front of the handful of congregants and read them a historical book about social justice. It was a nice little book and all, but we were hoping for a real sermon and not Sunday school for kids. The reading of the children's book lasted longer than the actual sermon to the adults which was maybe 5-8 minutes in length and was based on the historical children's book. It was what I would call a "fluffy" sermon- not deep. There was not a lot of thought put into it. The name of Jesus was not spoken even ONE SINGLE TIME! The gospel message was NOT preached. For a Church claiming to be Christian and Christ following, this is unacceptable to me because this church is misrepresenting itself. I left wondering if they worshiped Jesus there or just MLK. If you are a social justice warrior, you may enjoy this church as a social club to pout about how life isn't fair. If you are a conservative from Texas, this is probably not the church for you. All in all, it may have been the weirdest church experience of my life.
