First time visiting this thrift store. I was greeted when I entered. Everything is organized and displayed nicely. It was a little congested around the clothing area, but that means they are getting the business, so that makes me happy. I love their mission to help women who have been affected by sex trafficking, addiction issues, etc. I was happy to find a few things. Every time we visit Grover beach we come here. The volunteers really decorate for every holiday. They also mark things down to a dollar or five dollars out side on a rack. When you buy you help women get back on their feet. read more

Great thrift store that is neat and easy to move around in. How many stores are so overpriced and jammed that you feel overwhelmed as soon as you walk in. And some of odors.... Not here! A well appointed store with kind friendly staff who are there to help abused women, children and even men get a new start. Great selection of women's clothing. Some furniture. Their service sucks! No one on the store floor, pile of hens gathered in the backroom. A shoplifter's haven - cell phones, register, and anything you would want ripe for the taking. I went in back since my handicapped, senior mother had a question and it's was like I interrupted high tea. The airs of attitude don't match the fact this was an old lady junk store or the Christian radio station playing. I guess it does a person good to feel like they work in a Santa Barbara high end clothing store when you work in a Grover Beach thrift store. Good for you, Princess, you found your beachfront castle! Absolutely love this thrift store. They sell super cute stuff for cheap, staff is extremely nice. The heart of this shop is in the right place, they serve The Lord by helping women who suffer from addictions, that are homeless or just suffering to become clean and to know about God! The manager is extremely nice, she has a heart for the community and is always willing to help in anything for everyone. If you are ever in Downtown Grover and want to experience the beautiful atmosphere of second chances I encourage you do to so! read more

Only time for one thrift store in Grove Beach? Make it Second Chances! We hit all of the thrift stores in this area while on vacation. For a smaller store, this is packed with great items and prices to match. Lots of great finds, decent clothes, fun collectibles and excellent prices. I'm a thrift store manager and I can tell you that this is worth your time. We were very impressed with the excellent balance of neat/organized vs. treasure hunting/digging. I have really liked this thrift store and I like what they stand for and what they do however, what I do not like is when I go in there and I see a little sign on something of the price of what it sells on eBay. Let me explain a little bit about E-Bay people that sell on eBay have a PayPal account with the money that they sell things for they buy things it is not the same as going to a thrift store and using your own cash I don't think thrift stores really know this because they don't do eBay however they need to consider this your prices have gone way too high and I really am bummed out about it because I used to go in there twice a week read more

That was my grandson you yelled at! 1) why would a employee/employer have a dog that is not friendly much less kid friendly in a place of business? 2) if said canine is not friendly why would you allow it such easy access? 3) why was there not a notice in plain sight warning customers said canine is not friendly? 4) what give anyone the right to address any child in such manner? 5) what would have been the harm in approaching my grandson with some dignity & respect? 6) this is in no way the fault of my grandson or his family as your dog should have never been in a place of business if its known to be aggressive! The family you insulted has long standing in the community. Their extended family even longer. An apology publicly would go a long way in righting this wrong. read more

This is my favorite thrift store ever! I wasn't expecting such good finds and INCREDIBLE prices. I got 15 items for $45, including a watch and a 3 piece suit. Anyone who's in the area should come by and take a look. Not only do they have a great selection of clothing items, but they are a nonprofit, so any money you spend here will go to a very good cause. Nice selection of vintage and contemporary items at excellent prices. I bought a like-new London Fog raincoat for less than $10, vintage framed photo and vintage trinket plate for $3 each, and a gold charger for .75. Extremely nice staff! Highly recommend! read more

Employee Laura gave we customers a lesson on how to spot a fake name brand handbag! Finding a thrift store with a dressing room is another treat.
