Stayed here for one evening which meant less than 24 hours. Showing up was annoying because you go to the GPS address and park. Hop up to the office window and it says go next door to the Heavenly Inn. Luckily it wasn't too too cold so a very short walk to the next building wasn't horrible. Had it been much colder, that would have been annoying. Anyways, for the price it wasn't horrible. It also was not anything to get too comfortable with. They gave me a room with some sort of ADA compliant super shower so the bathroom was about the size of the bedroom. All tiled and half of it was a curtain-less shower with a couple seats. No tub. Came with a gas fireplace. How to turn it on? Turn up the thermostat. Bed was huge and plenty for the evening of nothin'. It is at the end of the street (Park) and walking to the main drag was nothing too strenuous. Sounds like I missed out on getting a tub in my room. Was exhausted from navigating the white ribbon of death at Heavenly with so many other folks there so it was okay. Woke up the next morning, skated down a few more white ribbons then took off for Thanksgiving dinner! Would stay here again but only to sleep. read more

We stayed here for 2 nights in December in the honeymoon suite. The heart shaped bathtub and the cabin-walled room totally was a vibe. They do not operate out of the office so we had to go to the one by the hotel next door. Apparently both properties belong to the same owner and they do so to save on paying double to the staff. Checkin was easy. They have key fobs which are a bit dated. AC was loud as f**k and we will never stay here in summer for sure. Coffee machine was not fully stocked on both days and we had to call front desk to get some more coffee and supplies. They don't have tea. One day after hitting the slopes and deciding to nap in the room in the afternoon we were woken up by the housekeeping staff talking loudly while cleaning the neighboring room. They were super loud and the walls were thin. I had to walk up and tell them to be quiet so we can rest. read more

I found this place online for a good deal,but once I arrived I noticed that they were doing construction... Wasn't a deal breaker but kept a mental note!!! During check in and already paid the deposit I was told the hot water will be off for a couple hrs... WAS NOT TOO HAPPY BOUT THAT!!!! Once in the room I noticed how GREAT the pictures were online compared to what I got,room was very cramped but was clean,just not as roomy as it looked online... Since the hot water was off decided to hit the streets until it was turned on... Once I returned, I wanted to get in the jacuzzi tub since that was the whole purpose of getting the room with it... Once I turned on the faucet I noticed the water was coming out BROWN!!!!! I understood that the water was off for some time so I let it run for a while but it still was brown!!!! This place has potentials but my experience was mixed. Check-in is next door at the Heavenly Inn, the young Indian gentleman was not very friendly and his instruction lasted all but 10 sec, not one word of welcome or thank you or even hint of a smile. Pro: located near the heart of south Tahoe, 1 block from heavenly village and lots of cafes/restaur/convenient stores nearby, has large hot tub, huge walk in shower, functioning fire place, comfy bed, min fridge & large closet, courtyard parking felt safe, good price for the location Con: courtyard parking lot small so at times used the secondary lot in the back which felt a bit shady, no work table or 1 single chair in the room, no microwave, no safety box, walk in shower is transparent so you can see everything from the other side (aka the bedroom) or be seen, weak shower pressure, cheap shampoo/body wash, cheap toilet paper, the window blinds did not work so had to use the curtain, thin walls I can hear my neighbors above making out/flushing toilet or even worse turning on their hot tub which sounded like Niagara Falls, the AC system did not work, all these factors adversely affected my sleep. I requested upper floors on my reservations but it was not honored. Prob won't stay here again unless have no other options read more

Location is good, we have the "king" room it's very small, says patio sitting well that's not at your room it's out in the middle, no chairs in the room unless you want to consider the metal ones (I guess that's for our patio sitting) there's not even a clock , it's noisy also . The fireplace didn't work and neither did the heater and it's 20 degrees outside. The place looked dirty and there were dents everywhere. The furniture was also scratched. Overall 1 out of 10. Man in the front told my husband he'd take a look at it I highly doubt it though. read more

My partner and I came here for a staycation in October. It was nice! There was plenty of parking, the room was clean (for the most part), and a good deal on expedia. There isn't much privacy given the glass shower and sliding bathroom door. The tub worked well and the shower had decent pressure! I would come back and recommend to other couples. read more

The room had no remote control. The spa tub was placed 2 fingers away from a refrigerator which raises serious safety concerns. My bf saw a huge bear pop out in the hotel's dumpster which was for sure not bear-proof. He walked back and talked with 2 other guys and they said their room also didn't have a remote??What a coincidence? This made me assume it is happening constantly. We decided to stay another night to relax after our trip and we chose this and wanted to use the TV. Their office closes 10 P.M. and so there were no one to help us. COCKROACHS AND SPIDERS!!!!! I stayed at your establishment the 18th and 19 October 2024. When I arrived, I tried to cancel the reservation because I found out that a friend of mine had been bitten by a brown recluse spider. Your manager said that was not going to happen. My girlfriend found a cockroach on the morning of the 19th. I went and showed it to your manager and that's when he said he contacted you and that you would give me a $50 reimbursement, which I didn't feel was adequate. And then I went back to the room and found a spider in the room. I was told when I came back this afternoon that you had said that because I didn't take the $50 I wasn't going to get anything. This is completely totally unacceptable.!! You should be ashamed to run in business like this!! I'm gonna leave a review every single chance I can !!!!!! read more

Mirrors on the ceiling Pink champagne on ice Okay. You have to bring your own pink champagne and ice, but they've got the mirrors on the ceiling and if you haven't ever got your freak on with that amenity then you need to check it out. We got the heart shaped jacuzzi tub room, and although the hot/cold levers were backwards, we figured it out and there was plenty of hot water for a romantic bubble bath. The hotel is a little dated and cleanliness isn't perfect, but if you're coming here for sexy fun times with your best friend(s?) then you really have to try it once to see if mirror ceilings are your jam. This is our go-to spot for vacations that include more time for staying in the room. Make sure to keep that phone video charged and ready to go because....memories. ;) read more

At first I was somewhat impressed , they added flowers as I requested, and room was decent but once you settle in you find all the issues and flaws. Spa tub looked dirty, turns out just heavy duty scuff Mark's. Lack of plugs in the room, 1 by the bed on the lamp but was loose and wouldn't charge my phone or any other device unless I held it in place. Lack of parking was another issue, only about 5 stalls to park then 3 out in the street. My biggest complaint you can hear everything above you, and the room next to you. And i mean everything. Foot steps , talking muffled , and the beds squeaking, . Fire place worked, took a while to heat up, and the thermostat was hidden behind the tv. Face of the fireplace vents were somewhat bent. Spacious room. Comfy bed. Nice jetted tub, big enough for 2 chunkies Faux fireplace gave off great heat and added a nice glow. The swan folded towels were a cute addition. Chris at the front desk was welcoming, friendly, and very helpful with booking for one more night after we got snowed in. Lovely place. This is an adults only portion of another property next door (where the family rooms are) where we had to check in. Housekeeping was excellent and very accommodating with our request for towels. So...I'll post a picture with this review so you'll get the full image.. Imagine, you're a newlywed and your wife of 2 days suggests you see if you can find a hotel in Tahoe on your way to NorCal. So, you find a nicely priced adults only hotel complete with two person shower and jacuzzi tub in all the rooms. They advertise having quiet hours until check out too! Perfect you think. That was how our experience started. I will say that the manager was really nice and friendly. The room itself was great and really was what we were looking for. Hence why I decided to give them 3 stars even though our experience became tainted in the morning. We were told when we checked in that a "painting project" was underway when we checked in. I wasn't expecting to wake up to men speaking and swearing loudly in Spanish at 8:30am...but ok fine. We were forewarned. Then, while I was totally naked and as my wife was "luckily" drying off in the shower (which you can fully see into from the front door) a male maid unlocked the door and walked in. He didn't knock and we had a sign on the door. Now, we aren't the most modest individuals and aren't overly concerned by nudity. But we'd at least like to meet the person first, maybe give some consent. I'm sure the place will be wonderful once it's remodeled but I also have to share this experience. We stayed at the Secrets Inn hotel for one night while visiting South Lake Tahoe. The room looks nice visually & I appreciated the effort that the maintenance staff took to fold the towels into swans upon our arrival in the room. The hot tub, shower, & mini-fridge were great for a couples room at the hotel. There were several parts of the room that we did not like. The air condition unit was a very old built in wall air conditioner. It did a terrible job of actually cooling down the room. The built in wall air conditioner was located near the entrance of the hotel room & did not circulate to the rest of the space very well. Additionally the television had a very small selection of channels. Although television is typically not the main part of any vacation, the hotel room's television was just frustrating. It has an old TV & remote that did not allow users to open up a guide to the channel selection. Hotel guests would just have to press the up & down button until they find a working channel of their choosing. Finally, the pillows & bed were uncomfortable. The room is also particularly small. Overall the hotel gets the job done & serves as decent place to sleep while you enjoy your Lake Tahoe vacation. As long as your vacation is primarily focused on the activities you will do outside of the hotel room, you should be fine with the Secrets Inn Hotel. read more

me and my wife had Covid the day or reservation before and they would not return my money that I did not even go to the room. I went through Priceline and they said that the manager here at secret Inn will not reimburse me. I am so upset they even charge me extra like $375 for one night so sad that I had Covid just the day before the trip and it's documented by a doctor hospital. it was my wife's birthday surprise, but the surprises. The employees at this inn/motel are absolutely clueless and have horrible customer service. My wife left a couple jackets behind, on accident and they refused to mail us our jackets, and WE WOULD PAY for it. They said we needed to send them a prepaid label (ok, we can do that) AND a box. They wanted us to mail them a box and provide a prepaid label. The lady at front desk sounded absolutely clueless when we were talking to her on the phone. Yes we can email you a prepaid label. But how exactly do you want us to get you a box? Walk or drive two blocks to the local FedEx and mail it, then charge me! The employees at this motel have no common sense or customer service. After sleeping on a slab of concrete the night before, not literally but that's what it felt like, we were thrilled that the mattress at Secrets Inn felt like sleeping on clouds. But mattress aside, this was your average motel. It had a nice jacuzzi and a very large shower with great water pressure and plenty of hot water. There were carpet tacks sticking out of the carpet that we stepped on upon arrival. We notified management and they took care of it. The fireplace is the only source of heat which was romantic but a little eerie when you are sleeping (*completely safe and glassed in, I just don't like flickering flames when I'm sleeping*). The biggest reasons I have to give this place just three stars are 1) The price was a bit steep in my opinion for what we got and 2) whenever our neighbors turned on their jacuzzis, it was so loud in our room (and they had their jacuzzi on very late into the night). If you are looking for a slightly more romantic getaway the next time you are in Lake Tahoe, then this is the place for you. read more

So... Found this hotel on GroupOn, great price considering what they charge regular rate. However the room (Tahoe Suite) is very small, run down and dirty. They shower and the bath surround need work, and seemed to the dirtiest part of the room. Like wear your flip flops in the shower to make sure you don't get foot fung. The noise is awful, the cars, the upstairs, the hot water ran out, and cheep tpee. Also we had to check in at Heavenly, which is the hotel in front Secrets, and no invoice, but they did give me a list what we'll charge if things happen. Yes, it is close to a lot of sites and things to do but I won't be back. Almost forgot, the parking lot is a nightmare, the spaces are made for a small compact, not for even a mid size SUV. read more

Phone did not work. No current electrical setups/outlets for cell phone, laptops, etc. Faucets in bath sink did not shut off completely without excessive force. Shower did not drain quickly, causing 1" to 2" of water to build up in it. Air conditioner was extremely loud! Jetted tub was GREAT and overall size of bathroom was very acceptable. We enjoyed our stay! Pros: bathtub was wonderful, I saw some reviews stating their tub was dirty but we did not encounter that. Our room was extremely clean! Great water pressure, water gets really hot which is a pro for my husband and I! They have wine glasses in the room and a champagne bucket. There's a fridge! The shower was wonderful too. Bed was very comfortable, a perfect medium. Parking isn't as bad as the reviews make it out to be. Cons: I saw some complaints about the temperature in the room, being that we came in the summer we definitely ran into some difficulty with cooling the room down we eventually just shut the A/C off and opened the window because it was hotter in the room than it was outside with the A/C blowing full blast. No microwave, no plastic wear for leftovers. They have a DVD player and movies at the office to watch in your room. I'm always a little disappointed when there isn't a smart TV so we can at least log in and binge watch in our hotel room. All in all I gave 4 stars because we will recommend this to friends and we will likely stay here again (and bring a fan next time). Please ignore all rude inaccurate reviews, I've never seen a cleaner hotel in my life and there was not one negativity I could point out. I booked this place for a nice mini weekend getaway for my husband and myself. The website boasted of a Jacuzzi tub, romantic themed rooms, Wi-Fi, television, and nice and quiet retreat. What they don't tell you is that there is no desk, table or anywhere to place a laptop and if you try to use the Wi-Fi it is a hit or miss. There are no chairs, only a bed and a little night stand table. The Jacuzzi bathtub is nothing but a tub that has some jets, but it does not have a heater and the water leaks over the top and drops down onto the floor. We had to use the towels to keep it from going onto the much used indoor outdoor carpet that had a few open seams in it. The bathroom had a warning sign stating if you stain or get anything on the towels, bedding, carpet, that you would be charged additional fees. The sign on the door also states you will be charged $75.00 for deep cleaning, $25.00 for carpet cleaning and $15.00 for a bug bomb (that's creepy). Day two we ran out of toilet paper and had to go to the nearest grocery store to stock up on a supply, luckily we brought our own shower gel. Day three the sound went out on the television and even though we notified the front desk, no one from maintenance ever came out. After several hours of being out of the room, we came back to find nothing was done in our room and our window was cracked open. Maybe that explains why we could hear everything from outside including the wind howling through from the first day we stayed. Upon finding the window was open, we tried to close it and lock it but apparently the lock was broken and we were unable to lock it (that makes me feel so safe and secure). Bottom line, no themed room, very cramped, over-priced for the accommodations, non-working items, false advertising. The housekeeping staff person finally showed up and helped us to finally resolve the window issue and the television issue, but it kind of already put a damper on our stay. You would think after we reported some of these issues that they would have been resolved a lot earlier. read more

So we went to their sister hotel, Heavenly Inn and it was pitch black. No one was there! We knocked and rang bell. No one came to door. So we reached out to Hotels.com. their representative called them THREE TIMES and told us they were hung up on. We were STILL CHARGED for the two nights! Do not recommend. Rooms are falsely advertised. There are signs in the room stating they will charge you if you stain their towels as if they can't afford to wash linen appropriately. This last time I have stayed here, they claim that there was evidence of smoking in the room and kept my deposit. This is after being told all week that they have sent the deposit back to my credit card. I do not recommend this hotel at all if you are not of Caucasian descent. I feel discriminated against from the moment of check in. The service was very poor. And I am very sad to say that despite staying here multiple times I will not be going back. Poor customer service is an understatement. We didn't even end up staying here and I'm glad to say we did not. Due to the current fires, we called for three days in a row trying to cancel our hotel room before getting charged, in which the property never answered the phone. My significant other has severe health problems that involve her lungs and with the air quality being at a 158, it is just not doable for us at this time. When I finally got ahold of the property (the morning the trip was planned for) I expressed these concerns to them and told them we'd be unable to make it and they refused to refund my card, despite informing them about the numerous attempts at trying to contact them, offering call log documentation, and telling them that my significant other could end up in the hospital if around that kind of air quality (shoot, we even sent them an email trying to get a reply with our concerns and photos from the live webcam where you can visually see the poor air quality). When I told the person on the other end of the phone that my significant other could literally die if we come there, her response was "I understand. But the room is non refundable. The best I can do is cancel your trip, charge you for one night, and allow you to rebook for the same amount of days within the next 30 days." In which I replied "what if the fire is worse or not under control in that amount of time?" And she said "well, then we could talk about rescheduling again with a small charge." Keep in mind, these rooms are not cheap and the "small charge" is a one night stay. Also, when asked to speak to the manager, she said she is the manager!!! Like, what ?!?! When asked to talk to the owner, she replied with that's not possible because they are an east coast business and she will try to reach out to them. (Which I hope he/she sees this so they know the kind of people they have running their business). I understand that places need to make they're money, but you just had a huge fire begin with bad air quality; you should be more mindful of your customers and they're health conditions when they express those things to you. Luckily, we booked through bookings.com and they approved a $0.00 cancellation cost. This hotel is sketchy, I recommend you spend your money somewhere else. read more

This place was OK. The idea that they are adult only and offer hot tubs in each room is really fun! But, the owners seem to be very controlling and demanding. There are notices posted all over the room about certain things like the no dogs and don't use towels for makeup, etc. I came here to relax and enjoy my stay.. not worry about whether or not you're going to take my $150 deposit over something as silly as makeup on a white towel! The hot tub was the best part for sure. It was very large and well heated, seemed to be very clean. The overall state of the hotel room itself was worn out and old. The electricity plugs in the bathroom didn't even work. Lol. So I had to straighten my hair from the living room with a personal mirror. They had three hairdryers in the room, only one worked (throw away the old ones?) and I didn't like that the fireplace was unadjustable. I prefer to sleep in a cold room, so I was SOL when it came to that. But, they are located very close to the main strip area of Tahoe and the casinos. read more

We booked for Friday-Saturday. Checked in late Saturday so by the time we were settled, all staff had left for the night. The AC in our room does not work. We sucked it up on Friday in hopes that it would kick in and we just needed to wait for it to cool down. Slept through the night and it is 20degrees hotter in the room than it is outside. I told the staff member and he said they're fully booked and can't switch our room. Ok, I asked if he could provide us with a fan since it's so bad. He insisted on coming to see the room and check. He felt the AC for a bit and basically told us to wait it out. He did give us a small fan but it is useless when the room is over 80 degrees. It it 20 degrees hotter in here. I waited about 4 hours to see if it would cool down and it's even hotter than before. When I called I asked if I could get a discount because everyone with working ACs are paying the same amount as me with a broken one. He said his manager told him he could reimburse $50 for the one night, but not both nights. He said it was our fault for not calling earlier, but I was trying to be polite and give them the benefit of the doubt because earlier in the day he said to wait and it would work. Made a reservation over the phone. During our last visit we had driven by and it had looked to be a nice place. The idea of a jacuzzi tub sounded nice after a long drive. We arrive and check in. Upon entering the room we notice it was somewhat cold in the room. Adjusted thermostat and left to find something to eat. Get back to the room and it is still cold. Talk to the lady at the front desk and was told the pilot light was turned off to the fireplace. No offer to fix situation. Go back to room and lay down, both of us end up falling asleep only for me to wake up cold. Go to front desk and ask again about heat. Again was told the piolet light was turned off. Was given directions on turning it on. Asked if anyone could turn it on for us. Was told the manager would come in around 10pm, it was around 8pm. Already cold, did not want to wait another 2 hours. Came back to room to work on pilot light ourselves. Now that room is warm we decide to try the tub. Everything is fine, enjoying the bubbles and relaxing. After a moment or two we notice a greenish-brown froth forming on top of the water. Well, that was enough to ruin that. We jump out and immediately get in the shower. Was really looking forward to that soak in the tub but it turned into beyond gross Will not be staying here again. If you are required to perform your own maintenance just to get heat, which, by the way is required by law as a basic need in rental but you apparently need to work for it here. They really need to change things to allow for 0 star ratings. read more

My boyfriend took me here for a surprise for my 30th. We had the all pine room. It was a very neat experience. The tub is amazing of course, esp with the fire place lit! Bed was comfy. Comes with a mini fridge/ a microwave too. No complaints! wish some more parking inside vs outside the lot but other then that amazing time and neat spot. Will deff be back some time! read more

Wow all I can say is we came up spontanusely and there was a celebrity golf tournament and a Tim Mcgraw concert and lil John made a club appearance at Peek night club. Not to mention it's summer! 105 in Sacramento so we need to get away from the heat. Tahoe is the perfect getaway NOT on a crazy weekend with all these big timers like: Curry Marcus Allen Jerry Rice Janakoski Tremont Green And JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE so no vacancies and not to mention 2 star hotels are going for $300/night. We decided to pull onto Pine street to look for vacancy signs. We came across heavenly Inn lodge. The nice man at the counter he said * I have one room it's the last one it's a suite with a hot tub it's my nicest room I have available. It's $250* OMG I jumped for for joy! We booked it and went to the other side to *Secrets inn*. All I can say is it's dark as he'll no lights I got scared! We open the door and OMG it was perfect! Shower was huge where the honeymooners can shower together. There's a champagne bottle holder by the jetted Tub. The bed is cali king. The location is right by the state line. They had a gas fireplace place amazing. I threw some bubbles in the tub! Turned up some music! And we had an amazing romantic night! I will be back! Thank you secrets Inn beautiful and romantic! Great price for the stay. The selling point is what everyone has already mentioned - the JACUZZI and Shower! Place was clean, easy to check-in. The King bed was comfortable, sheets were clean and the room was overall very clean. The AC was a bit small and it can take awhile for the room to cool down in the summer, but other than that, it was the perfect romantic set-up for couples. Highly recommend for a place right next to the Stateline and Heavenly resort. read more
