They have towed our car from our private residence twice. Our HOA said they shouldn't be towing…read morecars even if we don't have our pass up. Imagine getting up to go to work and your car is missing. We got no notification that it was towed, so we contacted the HOA. When we called the HOA, they told us to contact a towing company. They said they didn't tow a vehicle that matched ours. So I went to the police department to report a stolen vehicle. It turns out that Southbay didn't use the towing company per their agreement with our HOA which made it difficult to locate our vehicle. They use a towing company that has limited hours so you can't get your car out over the weekend all the while being charged a holding fee. Home owners associations and gated community managers. I do not suggest using them for parking security in your gated community. The majority of the cars they tow are residents who are paying their HOA fees. Those communities without HOA don't have a fear of getting their cars towed when parking in their neighborhood unless they park during streetsweeping hours. They bring no benefit.
