I called back in January just to find out that they never sent it to my insurance and that they were going to send it "right now." They didn't even send the bill for my initial checkup to my insurance. I called back this month, February, and they claim that they still haven't heard back from them. I have never had to wait more than 5 days to hear back from my insurance. Almost 5 months of waiting. This is disheartening since I have something pretty serious going on with my tooth and now I have to find a new endodontist and have my records sent over to them.

Both of his assistants are amazing and very kind and informative as well as Dr. Corns. You could immediately tell he's very good at what he does, instead of the usual numbing at a dentist that numbs your entire face he numbed only the tooth and area immediately around it and the entire root canal was completely painless. They do separate the procedure into two visits about a month apart because he said because there are much better outcomes this way. After leaving that first day my tooth was completely pain free and only had to wait two hrs before I could eat normally. My tooth felt completely back to normal in between visits and the second part was very quick and also painless. Everyone I met was extremely kind, professional, and talented. Pricing was a little less than the quote I received on the phone and in line with the other places I called around to, but most of them couldn't fit me in for weeks, and even though his schedule was full he got me almost immediately. I've always heard root canals were painful but I've felt absolutely no pain during or since the procedure. I can't recommend Dr Corns and his team enough, my only regret is that he doesn't do general dentistry or I'd have a new dentist. Their offices were nice, clean and very comfortable as well. Complete experience was a 10/10.

Dealing with the billing department was more painful than my root canal. I have mixed feelings…read moreabout this place. If you are paying out of pocket, it's probably fine. I took my son to see an endodontist here about 2 years ago, planned to pay out of pocket, and everything was fine. The doctor was polite and caring, as was her assistant. Ive been going for myself now since December. I was told at the end of December that I needed 4 root canals. 2 of my teeth were/are cracked. I was in a lot of pain because the nerve was exposed. I was told that it would take 6-8 weeks to find out how much my insurance would cover of the procedures and that I could wait to hear from my insurance or I could pay a deposit and have it taken care of now. Unfortunately, I couldn't afford the deposit, so I elected to tough it out until the end of February to make sure they received word from my insurance. I called the day before my procedure to find out what my portion would be, and was informed that they dont know what I will be responsible for and there was nobody in billing to help me. So I looked it up on my insurance and saw that they approved the procedure and my copay was $236. I went in the next day, had my procedure, and then was told I also needed to see the periodontist because I may need crown lengthening. I spent maybe 3 mins with the periodontist and then he stood there and awkwardly waiting for me to leave. When I checked out, I was told I needed to put down a $300 deposit for the procedure I had that day. When I explained that my insurance approved the procedure and said my copay should only be $236 she told me that they dont have any record of that and I should have printed it off, but otherwise she cant do anything for me. I also asked that nothing be done about the crown lengthening at this time because I knew it was not a covered benefit and I could not afford it. I also scheduled my next root canal treatment for my next payday, 1 month later. I was supposed to have my next root canal on 3/25/26, but before my appointment I went on my insurance portal to print out my prior authorization so I would only have to pay the remainder of $196 for my next treatment. I also noticed what looked like a claim for 2 crown lengthening procedures with a date of service of 3/24 billed for over $3000. I immediately called the office and was transfered to a biller. The billing person started going over my claims and telling me what I still owed for and what I didnt. I was looking at my EOB statements at the same time and telling her that they have or will be paid. She continuously got more and more defensive with me and raised her voice louder and louder, to the point that she is yelling at me, "Sir! IM TRYING TO HELP YOU!" All while telling me that I still owe them more money because "my insurance didnt pay them as much as they expected". I was pretty dumbfounded that I found myself having to explain to a billing professional that that's not how insurance works. Then came the questions about the crown lengthening claim. I explained what I was seeing on my end, even read it word for word to her. I was told "Sir, it doesn't say that". She continued to argue with me for at least 5 mins that what I was seeing on my portal was in fact, not actually there. Why would I call and say these claims were there if they weren't? I actually really need this dental work done. I had to cut her off arguing with me and ask her to transfer me back to the receptionist so I could cancel my appointment. I do not want to go to a practice that if I need to talk to a biller I have to be subjected to demeaning, condescending, rude person like that again. If she didnt know the answer, all she had to do was say "Im not sure why it shows up that way, all insurance is a little different and we did send to see if your insurance would cover the procedure. Your best bet would be to call and ask them about it." I have a root canal that they doctor started and didnt finish and it's already been paid for, so I do need to go back for that. But I won't be back otherwise.

The doctor with whom I was scheduled encouraged me to stay, but it was a mistake. The newly assigned doctor rushed through the perio exam, I know when it's a good exam because a good exam takes some time with comprehensive gum probes. Then they tricked me into an appointment that I cannot cancel without a $200 late cancellation charge. It's a hell-hole.

I have nothing but praise to give. From a long history of bad experiences with dentists, I'm so happy to be returning to positive encounters at this familiar office just West of Purdue University's Hammond campus. The attention to detail I have received in meeting my present needs, AND my future needs (dental and financial), has gone above and beyond all of my expectations. I love coming to this office knowing that I am in good hands. I have reapproached how I view dental care thanks to this bunch, and so I hope that Dr. Moll's practice will continue to grow!

He recently retired, sold the business and it now operates as Hammond Family Dentistry. Things are completely different now and we won't be back. Here's why: The day of our previously scheduled cleaning they called the same morning and said there wouldn't be enough dental technicians in the office to see both myself and my son, so only one could keep the appointment. Are you kidding me? Fast forward to today's cleaning visits. We schedule our appointments a year in advance to get the late appointments for after work. Today they canceled our appointments because I didn't call back to confirm the appointments "in time". Since when do I have to confirm an appointment after having made the appointment? "That's policy " they said on the phone today. I've never had to confirm via phone before and all of our appointments have been late scheduled. When I checked my voicemail the message only stated, "please call back to confirm your appointments." Nothing saying that if i didn't call back that they'd cancel. If it truly was policy, they'd have stated that in their voicemail message. So now that they've canceled the appointments for us, we won't be back. Poor business practices when we plan a year in advance for our visits. Their competition can get our business now.
