The process dragged on for more than two months due to repeated underwriting requests and delays. It took nearly two weeks just to review the appraisal, and underwriting repeatedly came back with additional items that should have been addressed earlier in the process. They attempted to charge me $1,200 additional "rate lock" fees without even notifying me of the charges. Loan officer, Zaid Akrami, didn't return any of my numerous phone calls post-appraisal; he also ignored numerous emails and messages that I sent to him through the LoanDepot portal.

He was condescending and inappropriately suggesting that I am making a mistake by not pursuing the loan with loan depot. I was willing to listen but his attitude was terrible, and I repeatedly had to reject his offers to reconsider before I had to hang up on him as he seems to refuse to end the conversation. He was persistent but not in a good way, increasingly growing quarrelsome and more interested in winning the argument than winning the deal. This gentleman is a belligerent and I would not be surprised if you evaluate his performance to find this with his colleagues and reports. If I had any inclination to consider loan depot this experience turned the matter personal and cemented the fact there will be no deal. I may give loandepot negative reviews when I can due to bad customer service.
