Low and behold the wood edging behind my old gutters was all rotted. They removed the rotted wood and installed the flashing and gutters directly on the plywood of the house, which they assured me was actually better than replacing the wood edging. There wasn't a downpour yesterday but everything worked as it should and I no longer had the three spots where I was getting overflow onto my patio and garden beds. Dean was great to work with, responsive, and provided timely updates as to when they would be able to come out and get the work done. Communication was 10/10. They had to schedule us out a bit to get the work done, but we didn't mind as fences were down all over the city due after the storm. They dropped off the fence materials the day prior, and got all work done within the expected time frame. Used quality cedar, that looks way better than the stuff my neighbor's 'guy' used. He also emphasized that he was the "cheapest," which initially seemed like a benefit -- but unfortunately, the quality of work reflects that. The fence installation was not completed to a professional standard. There is inconsistent spacing between pickets, visible gaps in areas that were supposed to provide privacy, and multiple sections that appear patched together with random pieces instead of being installed cleanly and uniformly. There is also a significant gap under the fence that was never addressed, which should have been handled during installation. In addition, debris and trash were left behind outside the fence, and the job site was not cleaned up. Items that were discussed and agreed on -- including the top border trim -- were not completed. I was told these items would be finished and waited for a follow-up visit, but after most of the payment had already been made, the remaining work was not completed. When I raised concerns, communication became dismissive, and instead of addressing the quality issues, I was told to hire someone else. Overall, the work feels rushed and unfinished, and I will need to hire someone else to correct and complete it. If you're considering hiring, I strongly recommend confirming all details in writing, holding final payment until everything is fully completed, and closely reviewing the quality of work.
