I have been using this company for fencing for many years, since the 1970s. Because I have had dogs for many years, I've had to be very particular about the kind of fencing I've used at our homes. Griffin fence has always provided what I needed and worked with me for satisfactory results. It's true that "good fences, make good neighbors" and there's nothing worse than having your beloved pets escape from a bad fence bothering neighbors and perhaps being hurt as well. We recently moved into a new home, and had the fence replaced and had the pool and raised garden beds fenced off from our dogs. As soon as I narrowed down what I needed and wanted, the fencing crew was here on time and went to work without any issues. They worked tirelessly in very inclement weather to finish up the job, and didn't disturb us or our other workers at all. They were never intrusive or in the way and did a great job on the fencing. It looks fabulous, and I'm sure we'll get many many years of great use out of it. Literally the worst experience we have had. We used Griffin a few years ago for our back fence and called them this summer to do our side fence. The fence (which is lovely, but is not a result of the company. The contractors were great!) was completed in June 2024. They neglected to complete our neighbor's gate, saying they would come back. Due to the storms in July, the gate is STILL not finished. Sorry your business exploded and you have grown at astronomical rates. We became worthless to them because they had much bigger jobs. In the three and a half months we have been waiting for them to finish the project, our neighbor had a generator installed. Now, they have to have a welder come out because there is a gas line, which more than doubles the cost of the gate. Bottom line - if you actually get someone out to do your job, don't let them leave until it is COMPLETELY finished or it never will be. If this had been done in a timely fashion, the gas line wouldn't have been there and the extra cost wouldn't fall on us (our neighbor is elderly). My husband has called twice a week since June and it is always an excuse. We won't be using or recommending them. read more

We opted to install 3 inch iron poles for more stability. They took 2 days to install my cedar fence. My iron fence was custom made with a puppy fence and took one week to completely install. They were supposed to complete next week but finished one week early! That rarely happens. Pricing was reasonable given the high quality of their work. 25 perfect deposit and extra 3 percent charge if using credit card. One year warranty. Highly recommended! read more

Their team secured the permit from the city, all signatures required, and both tore down the old fences and installed the new 8' fencing within just a few days. I have had two residential metal gates installed by this company in the past year. Big mistake. The actual quality of the work was fine, but twice I had big unresponsive problems from them. It took over a month to start the install after they had the deposit and said it would be in the next week. If I hadn't constantly pestered them, they wouldn't have installed late when they did. Then they installed a fence in July 2024 that had a keypad gate lock, which was pricey, but necessary for security. The lock lasted 5 months. I contacted them, and have recontacted them 4 times since, and get put off with "checking on the lock's warranty." First, that would take about a minute. Secondly, it's obvious that they don't stand by the products they install even after just 5 months. Their unresponsiveness and unprofessionalism is really the worst of any home repair/improvement or contractor I've ever dealt with. There are plenty of other great fence companies around. I'd avoid this business like a plague. read more

Horrible customer service. I called Griffin fence to get a quote and they said someone would call me. I received a call from David while I was at work n he called me 10plus time I wish he had a basic understanding just to call once and leave a message. Once I called him back after work and explained him someone from grffin had already come and taken measurement and they don't work there any more so he agreed I could just send him measurements for the fence n he would give me the price by next day. I provided him with all the info he needed and he kept texting me saying I wouldn't like the price he will give me. And NOW he is TOOO busy for a week and won't be giving me prices. I have no idea why he reacted from being helpful to being rude within just a hour. Please read the messages attached- all he had to do was give me the quote as he promised he would. I would NOT even recommend anyone calling this place and deal with frustration when there are millions of other companies who will treat their customer with respect. read more

I had a generator installed recently and wanted to make it more secure by having a fence installed. It was only about 18 feet of fence in total but it was in a very tight space. It involved setbacks, gas lines, the generator itself, etc. Griffin Fence was able to figure out how to make it work. It took a lot of creative thinking to make it happen. very poor customer service. called these guys due their reviews online and the guy who answered (david) said he is interested to give a bid when he got home. he ask me to send the other bid from competitor so he could review the scope of work so i sent along the exact bid with some of my own questions,points if clarity, etc. The below is his reply and self explanatory quote Thank You Sir, Good luck getting Shane to warranty anything - He uses subcontractor's for all his work. His contract specifically states NO WARRANTY IMPLIED. His $1100.00 iron driveway gate is CARBON STEEL, NOT GALVANIZED STEEL and it is a BASIC GATE - NO finials, puppy bars or anything else that you are suggesting. He does not build anything himself, he subs it out. My price on this job would be $10,995.00. I will get you a detailed bid if you are interested, but there is no need to waste each other's time if you are not interested in quality and our price. I had Griffin Fence install a driveway gate and short fence when I had my house built. The quality of the work was pretty good but the company seriously misrepresented the quality of the gate opener and replacement parts. I have had to have the gate opener repeatedly repaired and put in a supposedly "non-rusting" chain (twice) that has immediately rusted. Griffin Fence supervisors/managers are hard to get a hold of and have misrepresented their products. However, the service personnel who come out to do the work on both the mechanism and the fence have done a great job. read more

The sales rep seemed professional and provided a bid. He saw everything on site. However, he wouldn't respond to emails with photos asking for clarifications. When the crew showed up to do the work after a 10 week wait (was told 6-8 weeks), the price increases began. The bid was a contract I had to sign, but just "a suggestion" to Griffin Fence. "Unforeseen job site conditions" - which means the salesman and the construction crews are not on the same page. Heading of the contract says "Integrity, Service, Professionalism". Called them two weeks ago to see about getting an estimate on a fence. It was after hours, so I left a voicemail with all of the pertinent information (name, number, request). A day goes by, I hear nothing back. So two days after I left the message, I called the number again and spoke with a very unenthusiastic woman about what I was after. I did not expect such poor customer service from Griffin Fence! BUT, I GUESS THEY ARE ONLY INTERESTED IN PUTTING UP NEW FENCES , NOT PROVIDING SERVICE TO THEIR EXISTING CUSTOMERS. Griffin Fence installed an eight foot cedar fence and a wrought iron gate around our pool in 2010. At the time I was pleased with the work and would have recommended them to friends and family. Since then we have had problems with the gates and I have not been able to repair them myself and want to get them fixed to make sure the pool area is secure. I have contacted Griffin several times and they do not even bother to call back to speak with me about the problem. I am not expecting them to do the work for free, I only want them to come out and see what needs to be done to fix the problem so that the pool area is secure. read more

After 2 months' research and getting estimates from 3 different companies, Griffin Fence came in with a very competitive bid and, more importantly, responded quickly to tele calls and email questions. We worked with John Barclay from the start who provided extensive information about the company, the materials and what to expect in the process. And John came back to talk personally with each of the 2 neighbors who were sharing in the expense of a new wood fence to make sure all of their wishes were met. The Griffin team took 3 days to remove the existing wood fence, most of which was covered with unwieldy vines, and install nearly 200 linear feet of fence.
