And where there is one roach, there's usually a family. I would expect at Radisson hotel to be cleaner and roach-free. Their king sized bed is actually two double beds pushed together. Sleeping near the middle of the bed meant back pain since it is not one big mattress and we were essentially sleeping on the edge of a double mattress. Another downside is that they would not allow for strong smelling fruits and foods to be brought into the room. I wanted to purchase a small handful of dried fish and local delicacies as souvenirs, but I didn't want to be fined by the hotel. Our flight left early in the morning so we couldn't find time to go before the airport. We didn't have a chance to visit any of the amenities. The pool looked nice from afar, and we wanted to visit the spa but we could never make it before 10 PM. The location is generally good as it's close to the mall where you can dine, shop, and exchange currency. Overall, this stay was incredibly disappointing.

The gym in the basement has very basic aging equipment though, and the pool was emptied out at the time of my stay. Nonetheless there's a big grassy field with hammocks and the pool bar was open but quiet. I got a Suite which was very spacious and came with lounge access with happy hours and daily clothes pressing complimentary. The breakfast choices were good. I especially liked their Chinese food selection of dim sum and fried rice and noodles and congee. My only issue was that as a night shift worker, they weren't able to accomodate any requests for overnight housekeeping. Still on the whole it's a solid 4 stars.

Marco Polo Plaza Cebu : A Classic That Still Holds Its Own…read more This was once the iconic Cebu Plaza Hotel, and you can still feel the grandeur in its bones. The lobby alone sets the tone, spacious, elegant, and rare for Cebu. It's perched up on the hills of Nivel, and while the mountain view could've been spectacular, the sightline is unfortunately dotted with informal settlements. If I were management, I'd invest in reclaiming or screening that side, it's the only visual detail that breaks the illusion. The rooms, though, are beautifully maintained. Ours had a great layout, a soft bed with dreamy pillows, and a spacious bathroom with excellent water pressure and consistent hot water. It's the kind of setup where you can actually rest. Room service at night? Surprisingly excellent. And the front desk and bell staff were sharp, polite, and fast. everything you'd hope for from a hotel of this caliber. Food-wise, Café Marco still delivers a solid buffet. Breakfast had good variety without going overboard. Dinner was also well curated. Their Chinese restaurant, Hai Shin Lou, brings an upscale option to in-house dining, and the Lobby Lounge is a great spot to unwind with drinks or dessert. The service across F&B outlets was consistently attentive. A couple of downsides: the road leading up is currently under repair, which means getting to the hotel takes patience. The traffic's real. But that's a temporary issue, nothing to hold against the hotel long-term. Would I stay again? Absolutely. It's one of the few hotels in Cebu that feels truly grand, without trying too hard. Fix the road and tweak the view, and Marco Polo can easily reclaim the top spot as Cebu's flagship luxury stay.

Checking into reception was easy enough, and the staff was very friendly. Our room was clean and well-maintained, but the shower was... interesting. Hot water worked fine if we would figure out how the knobs worked. One of those installations - it looks cool and modern but not very practical or actually easy to use. The hotel breakfast buffet was overpriced in my opinion. They had some good options, but that would have been an expensive breakfast even by U.S. standards without anything particularly special. (Hint: If available, opt for the unlimited dim sum at the hotel's Chinese restaurant instead.) I also took advantage of the spa and gym. The massage was a good experience (though I couldn't charge it to the room which was led to a mild snafu.) The gym was a good size and decently equipped with weights and a treadmill. The exercise bike wasn't working to my chagrin though. We also generally noticed small details - The hotel wanted to be very upscale and fancy but things were misaligned during construction and there was just a general lack of attention to detail. Overall, if you can stay here for a reasonable rate, it could be worth it, but, at the end of the day, you get what you pay for.

Reservations, Check In & Lobby: I booked online directly via their website. No issues at all and my reservation was good to go as soon as i go to the front desk. The staff was efficient and very friendly. Every time I walked in I was greeted by the staff. The hotel lobby is very spacious with 2+ story high vaulted ceilings. There's a lobby bar in the corner if you're feeling a cocktail or even a refreshment. They also have a dedicated coffee/tea shop in the lobby by the entrance. good stuff. Breakfast buffet: The staff is always very friendly and accommodating. The selection is fantastic. You have all the local Filipino breakfast dishes along with the regular global staples. There juices are fresh and the self serve coffee machine offers great options: Cappucino, esperesso, drip, etc. Location: It's centrally located in Cebu City and it's easy for Grab drivers to pick you up via the drive up driveway to the entrance. Ayala Mall is a quick walk covered walk, to the mall parking garage and then you're at the outside entrance of Ayala Mall. Fantastic. Anything you need as a visitor is here: Shopping, restaurants, cafes, ATMs, foreign exchange, etc. Suite Rooms: We had a two bed suite and it was fine. This is an older hotel so the rooms are on the smaller side. The air conditioning was on point, bathrooms were clean with great water pressure and hot water. Everything was clean and the housekeeping staff were great. Gym: Some of the weight training equipment is a little outdated but the cardio machines were on point. There's a big selection of machines and free weights to get good workouts in during your visit. Executive Lounge Access: Located on the12th floor, this was my favorite part of the Seda. There are great food hot food options, appetizers, teas and coffees at scheduled time throughout the day. There's a separate conference room which i used to get some work done. There's flat screen TVs with news playing. This was my 3rd place hangout whenever I wasn't in my room or out and about. This is an older property for sure and you'll notice it. However, the staff, location and the renovation and the maintenance of the property is great. This will be my safe space hotel to book whenever I visit Cebu. Enjoy!

The third-party payment site used by the hotel's reservation system would not accept several of my credit cards. These have successfully been used overseas in the past. Also, while the hotel accepts American Express, the payment site does not. Transfer For 1050PHP, I opted for the hotel transfer. Although my flight was delayed an hour, the pickup occurred without a hitch. Due to issues with Grab during my stay, I also booked the airport transfer for the same fee. Check In Check in occurred without issues. There was a wait as there were only two check in desks. Most importantly, I got my room key around 2pm, an hour before the posted check in time. Housekeeping During my stay, housekeeping was exceptional. Several times, I needed an item from the vanity kit. The following morning, housekeeping left an unopened vanity kit while leaving the opened kit in the bathroom. The room was pre-stocked with a bottle of filtered water. As I had opened but not emptied the bottle, another full bottle was left in the room. Club Room Unfortunately, the club room was not properly stocked with soda. Often, either soda water or regular coke was not stocked in the cooler. I would need to ask staff if there were any left. The soda was in the supply room. Misto Restaurant Breakfast at the restaurant was the biggest disappointment. Many times, I would be seated at a table not properly setup. When I looked around, none of the tables were. When I notified the hostess, the situation was not resolved the following day and was never. The staff lacked training. On the occasions I would submit an egg order, I had to flag an employee to accept it. On my last day, I did not bother. Ayala Center The hotel shares a parking garage with the mall. On rainy days, you can get wet walking through the garage. The covered walkway between the hotel and garage prevented getting wet. Security Metal detectors were situated at both the front and parking garage entrances. My suitcases were scanned, as well as, shopping bags and backpacks whenever I entered the hotel.

It is very close to IT Park (where most call center/BPO organizations are located). They have very tight security everywhere around the hotel that makes me feel safe. It is a little annoying getting in via a car or cab as they have a three fold check to ensure you're a legit cab driver. The upside is that if I ever had an issue in a cab, I know the Marriott would take care of me. There are times of the day that it is difficult to hail a cab, and the concierge is happy to help pre-plan a cab at a specific time for you. The service throughout the hotel is absolutely amazing. They make me feel very privileged to be there. I don't know if I have ever opened a door besides to my room. They are so willing to help you get whatever you need whenever you want. I have also been coming here for about 5 years and have come to know many members of the staff as friends rather than as a typical customer service person. I think that the breakfast buffet is truly stunning in terms of options . Over the years it has been better than others, but this time through I was amazed. They have your typical omelette/egg stand as well as fresh pancakes and waffles to order. But they added a new curry bar that was absolutely delicious. Then they have a great spread of Cebuano, Japanese, US, Chinese, and Korean dishes. Also they have a fresh fruit bar where all you have to do is ask for freshly squeezed juice. The fresh OJ is FANTASTIC (and I eat about 5 mangoes a day in the PH. YUM). The location is not the only reason why I stay here. This Marriott is connected to Ayala Mall which is a big perk. I stay here for a hefty stint and love to be able to walk to the mall for other food options. It means I don't have to eat hotel food every day (although I think they have great options so I can). The mall has cheaper food options than the Marriott. Now that I'm on it, I'm sure that there are cheaper places that are just as nice in Cebu. I stay for business and security is my number one priority....and I feel very safe at the Marriott. Secondly, the location is perfect for what I am trying to accomplish. The pool is nice and well kept. They have 2 bars in the facility that are open 8am til midnight. Breakfast opens at 6. Other than that, you can order room service for food and the prices match the cafe/pool bar.

Her soup making was on point and the spread was great too. I did her singing from around corner which made me sing the same tune in my head the rest of the meal. The hotel is a little off the beaten path but in a location to provide quick transit to Cebu City / Business and the airport. Also there a 1.6km route for running near the hotel if that's your thing too. Check in was a breeze and getting to my room was easy. Although it wasn't quick cause it seems like the elevators move slowly or and you can't really hear them when they come to your level for opening. Pool and gym are a highlight of the hotel. Neither was overly packed. I went to the Lounge bar/area on the top floor it provides great views and live music on the night I went. Chicken wings and fries could've been better. The room was just ok. I had a view of the water and another building under construction. There was an off scent when entering and felt like it dissipated over time until I left out and came back after some time. Bed was really comfortable and a lot of options came with my stay due to my member leave. Daily laundry was a + along with refreshing of the mini bar. I did return one night and my door was open. I sat at the end of the hallway cause I thought they were cleaning it but they were actually in the room beside mine and didn't know why my door was propped open. Overall I'd choose to stay here again due to a good location however maybe a different type of room and view.

The mini bar is complimentary on the first night and includes Cebu mango treats, orange and mango drinks and classic Filipino beer. There is also a mini coffee machine where one can make cappuccinos and mochas. A stay at the Crimson includes a complimentary breakfast buffet at their Saffron restaurant. I was amazed at the selection the buffet. Not only did they have an abundance of Filipino and Western dishes but there was also a congee and sushi bar. They pastry bar selection ranged from classic Filipino ensaymadas to native Cebu sticky rice. I also was impressed that they had fresh smoothies and juices along with a full coffee bar offering different specialty coffees. This hands down was the best breakfast buffet I experienced during my trip. Equally as impressive is the resort's pool area. Located right next to the beach, it offers breathtaking sunrise views and a serene atmosphere that is perfect for relaxing. One thing worth noting is that the resort rooms are quite far from the main lobby and restaurants, so guests will need to take the resort golf cart service.
