My husband and I booked our elopement through Sedona Destination Weddings and everything was perfect! Getting married in the midst of a pandemic (June 5, 2020) was starting to be a little stressful for us, but we truly did not need to worry about a thing. We selected the Celtic Handfasting ceremony and we chose an evening ceremony at the Airport Vortex. I highly recommend booking your ceremony through Sedona Destination Weddings!

Sedona Destination Weddings was the perfect start to one of the most amazing days of our lives! We first visited Akal and Iala for a couples retreat 7 years prior and had the most amazing experience so it was only fitting to bring our families back for a Vow Renewal Ceremony overlooking the vortexes of Sedona with Akal officiating! Iala had all the details covered and made it a very easy process! It was a beautiful, magical and spiritual ceremony and I HIGHLY recommend it if your looking for any type of destination ceremony!

I worked with Susan (the owner) and she truly went above and beyond for us. She helped us plan the day out, find a car service (take care of setting up the car service) and making sure we had everything we needed (and a back-up weather emergency pan as well). Truly, I felt like we were friends of Susan's for how well she took care of us. Given life happens, we ended up being court-house married in Maryland before our planned wedding a few months later and Susan was our officiant. She did a beautiful job and we loved having her a part of our day and helping make it so amazing and STRESS-FREE. The cost was more than reasonable for the area for the officiant service, car service and other services that were available.

I want to start off by saying that I had a fantastic wedding and I will always remember my wedding…read moreday fondly. I think these memories are largely due to a few different factors, some of which I can attribute to Revered Andrew and his team at Heart of Sedona Weddings, but the most memorable part of the day was saying my vows to my beautiful wife! She is what made the day so special and memorable. I have mixed feelings about Heart of Sedona Weddings which I will explain below, but based on my experience with Reverend Andrew and his team, I would still cautiously recommend their services to anyone desiring to elope in beautiful Sedona. You may want to look into other options as well. Reverend Andrew is very involved in the planning process, from the initial consultation all the way to the big event. During my initial phone consultation with him he was very friendly and informative about how the wedding ceremony would work. His pricing is upfront and reasonable for what you get, as he offers several all-inclusive packages designed to meet your needs. I liked that Reverend Andrew took his time with us over the phone and explained everything in detail. He was clear about how the planning process worked and told us exactly what we needed to know in order to have a successful elopement in Sedona. He was personable and gave us excellent recommendations for bridal hair and makeup, restaurants, and cakes. He made the planning process less stressful than it should have been. Although I have yet to see the wedding photos, his photographer Andrew Holman was excellent in the way he treated us and he made us feel like celebrities with all the really cool poses around the scenic red rock background. I am quite confident from the quality of the photos he took on my phone that the actual wedding photos will be spectacular. In this respect, Revered Andrew made a great decision to have Andrew as our photographer. Couldn't be happier with him. Another nice gesture of Reverend Andrew was him personally picking up my then fiance at her makeup salon so I would not see her prior to the wedding. His flexibility and willingness to do this were very much appreciated and made the wedding that much more special to me and my bride. Despite all of the amazing memories, there are some areas in which I felt Reverend Andrew fell short, which I will detail here. Reverend Andrew was easy to get ahold of the first two times I spoke to him, but after that, it was nearly impossible to reach him over the phone and he would sometimes take several days to get back to me, even when I had a simple question. When I replied to one of his emails regarding details of our ceremony, he never received it, only to find it later while I was telling him over the phone that I sent it. I got the feeling that he was overbooked and more focused on quantity than quality, a feeling that would later be confirmed during the ceremony itself. On the day of the wedding, on our way into the private golf course, Reverend Andrew ran into an issue at the security gate where they were asking him to pay a fee to enter. Waiting in my car for fifteen minutes while he sorted out the details and argued with the security guard over paying the fee was not a good way to set the mood. While the security guard was being rude, I did not feel that Andrew making a big deal out of the fees was very professional and he should have dealt with the guard later on instead of venting about him on our wedding day. Another issue was that during the ceremony itself, Andrew was reading off sheets of laminated paper and did not seem emotionally invested in our ceremony. It was more of a vibe he gave off, but he was reading very quickly and seemed like he was in a rush to get this thing over with and get out of there. Not exactly the vibe I was going for on my wedding day. I am still a little pissed about that. And then, once our ceremony was over, he hurriedly and awkwardly left, not giving my new wife time to get all of her belongings out of the car. That just rubbed me the wrong way, but thanks to the kindness and patience of his photographer, we continued to have a great time taking photos. The wedding cake had almonds in it despite me asking for there not to be. Oversights like these on my wedding day were unacceptable. I think Reverend Andrew is good at what he does, but I did not feel that his heart was quite there with us on our big day and I felt he was a little careless with small, but important details. If I were to renew my vows in Sedona, I would have second thoughts about going with him again for these reasons.

We found Andrew, from Heart of Sedona Weddings when we were searching for where to get married in…read moreSedona, and for people to perform the ceremony. We found similar wedding services to Heart of Sedona Weddings, but from our initial phone inquiry, Andrew was enthusiastic and open to answering many questions about his services and going through a list of easily accessible locations for our family to get to. We ended up deciding on getting married on Bell Rock, off of the Courthouse Vista parking lot (beautiful views). We were in continuous communication with Andrew in the months leading up to our Wedding. We met with Andrew in Sedona a few months prior to the wedding to go over all the details of the ceremony and for him to get to know us more as a couple. We then went with Andrew to our wedding location. Andrew showed us the best spot for the ceremony. He also showed us where and how he would position us and our family. Andrew sent us packets of wedding ceremony information. We went through and picked the stuff we liked and also added some verses that we liked. Andrew made this part very easy. After we told him the pieces that we liked and the verses that we wanted, he took it from there and made a beautiful and fluent ceremony. We would highly recommend Andrew and Heart of Sedona Weddings! Thank you, Andrew!

I am pretty pissed off about the flowers that Events by show stoppers made for my wedding last…read moreweekend. Having worked in the floral design industry, I know a lot about flowers and what goes into wedding flowers, this place is awful. In advance, I spoke with both Ken and Jim via email. Both were rather snooty for lack of a better term, and made it difficult to work with. They require a non-refundable deposit before you can even have a consultation to discuss what you want (to see if they are the right place for you.) I should have seen this as the first red flag. Because I have been in the industry I wanted to make it relatively easy for the designers and let them use their own creativity, after all when you let someone who knows what their doing be creative is when you end up with the best stuff! Well, not this time. I sent a few pictures of the style wedding bouquet I wanted, and gave them a colors of the wedding (plum and wine). I gave them a list of the types of flowers that I like (for reference) and said please use your best judgement- allowing them to choose the best stuff to put in based on their experience, floral availability, and their creativity. There were only three things that I said I absolutely did not want and guess what, I got all three of those things. I got: 1. a tightly packed mass of flowers instead of a very loose, wide, open bouquet. 2. THE WRONG COLORS. Plum and wine are warm purples, what I got was a super bright lavender and nearly black dark purple with white. No plum, no wine shades. 3. One of the only two flowers I specifically said not to use was calla lilies. they filled the bouquets with deep purple (nearly black) callas. Then there was the flowers for the other people... the boutonnieres for all of the men and the corsages for the mothers. They were all white. There wasn't an ounce of plum or wine in them at all. I would never recommend these people for any event. I went out of my way to make sure that because I used to be a floral designer I didn't micro-manage and become a floral bridezilla, but apparently that doesn't work with these people. It doesn't seem to matter what colors your wedding are, they choose the flowers and colors they want, not what they agree to or know the event colors are. Lastly, adding insult to injury is the price. HOLY SHIT! They are outrageous! Don't waste your time or money. Go somewhere, ANYWHERE else. RUN! No one should pay this much money for two bouquets, and a few corsages and boutonnieres, let alone to be treated with a snooty holier-than-thou attitude from Ken or Jim when they deign to get in touch.
