Original Wiener Schnitzel
Justin R.

Our host in Munich took us down to the Englischer Garden and we had dinner here at the Seehaus. They have outdoor seating by the lake which I highly recommend and the servers are super friendly. Most of them spoke great English but we were with a local so that really helped. The menu has a lot of options and there is an English version online if you scan the QR code. We both ultimately decided on the Original Wiener Schnitzel as it billed as "simply the best". We figured you can't go wrong with that description! It came out piping hot and really was quite good. The beef was very tender and juicy and the breading on the schnitzel was crispy and seasoned well. The fruit jam is a nice compliment to help provide a contrast in texture and sweetness to the dish. The potato salad (best way I can describe it) added another contrasting element providing a reprieve from the fresh from the fryer schnitzel. The mustard base was tasty and the pickles were nice textural element to the salad. The dish certainly rang true of authentic German fare and the backdrop of the lake and great outdoor beer garden completed the experience!

The location and service were great, but as far as veggie options go...this will leave you wanting. Located in the Englischer Garden, Seehaus is cool restaurant with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating and an exhaustive drink menu. However, not a lot of things for vegetarians to eat. I ordered this radicchio risotto and it was a little bit sour for my taste. I did appreciate how hot it was when it came out! I also got an irish coffee as a pick me up post-dinner and the server was very accommodating even though she had never made one before :) Would give it a try if you have a big party with no dietary restrictions, but if you're vegetarian, I recommend finding some place else :)

What a great place to stumble upon. Had food and beer; could not have been nicer. Make a point to visit if walking the Englischer Garten. I will be back.

Nice beer garden in the middle of the English Garden and on the small lake inside. As many beer gardens there is both a restaurant and a self-service area. I just stopped for a beer (they have Paulaner) in a sunny day.

Can't beat the food and outdoor patio setting at the Seehaus Restaurant in the gorgeous English Garden. I dined on salmon and vegetables and enjoyed wine all while viewing boaters and birds on the lake. The lack of one star rating was due to the very slow and poor service I received from a waiter who spent more time with other tables. Glad I didn't sit in the biergarten area as there were many smokers to ruin the experience.

I was at an event here this evening and ended up having dinner here. Like my previous review, location and ambience is definitely 5 stars. The food tonight was excellent and, I loved it. For starter we had a salad of mozzarella, avocado, red and green tomatoes and asparagus and I loved it. It was light, fresh and tasty. For main we were served a medium rare filet of beef with a curry butter, potatoes, asparagus and veggies with a nice jus. I absolutely loved the steak and devoured it ;-)) the dessert was a marinated strawberries with a lime sorbet end it was also very nice. The wine was good and the service very quick and polite. I will definitely come back for a dinner in the restaurant again. It's good quality food that is tasty. Whilst I recognize that this is not normal menu food, if it's like this in the restaurant, they will get me back for sure :-)

Went here for breakfast while on vacation in Munich. Loved the atmosphere. It's located right by the water inside the English Garden. It's very spectacular actually. The food was delicious. We had the French Toast and scrambled eggs. Espresso was exceptional as well.

This is a great place to hang out and have a beer. We went to the Viktulienmarkt and picked up some food first before stopping here. Then just bought a few beers and sat at one of the benches by the water. Be careful when feeding the geese and ducks as they are relentless. Excellent place to relax

The Seehaus is an old Munich establishment, know best for its outdoor Beer Garden directly on the "kleinhesseloher see" (a small lake). Paddle boats are available for rent (somewhat expensive). The food at Seehaus is good, albeit more expensive than a normal Beer Garden, but totally worth it if you ask me (Location, Location, Location!). If you can get a table in the first row (directly on the lake shore), you really can't get any better. The restaurant indoors isn't really a highlight IMHO, since there are other places in town that have more character. The Seehaus is best for days with beautiful weather (sunny + blue skies). Even if its not raining and overcast, I don't recommend this place (unless its nice and warm).

Amazing view. Great place to enjoy a good german wheat beer and sausage.

Came for quick bite and beer. Their sweet curry sauce was amazing! They serve paulaner here, a big plus! Also, the lakeside view is worth the walk here.

We came here for dinner during Oktoberfest with a group of 12, and it could not have been a better experience. Pescheria set aside a large table in the back just for us and gave us top-notch service from start to finish. The staff really went above and beyond, giving great recommendations and even arranging a few special dishes from the chef just for our group. We asked if everything could be served family style so we could all share, and they delivered perfectly. Some of the highlights were the seafood risotto, the seafood sampler towers, the fresh oysters, and the fish dishes. We ordered four large fish for the table, and the star of the night was the turbot. It was prepared with a special two-step cooking process, first steamed and deboned, then fried to perfection. 10/10 The wine program was also fantastic. We went through several magnum bottles of red and white, and the staff expertly paired them with each course. Everything about the night felt relaxed, delicious, and celebratory. If you're in Munich and love seafood, especially with a group, Pescheria is a must visit. Highly recommend!

Everything was a 5.0, which rarely happens with me. - Appetizer: Burrata with black truffle, chanterelle mushrooms, cherry tomatos, etc. - Main course: Grilled Turbot ("Hondarribia") for 2 people - Sides: baked vegetables dish and a mushroom dish - Dessert: Creme Brule with berries. This creme brule was a delight, served in a shallow dish and having a very thin crust.

Go inside to find a spot to sit (be warned: the seat is a cushioned cylindrical bar but nevertheless comfortable enough to sit) or outside (there are chairs) to people-watch at the V-markt, take a look at limited selections (at the counter/in the restaurant/at the menu), and order with the waiter. I use limited here in the highest regard as they focus on making their dishes as delectable as possible. Case in point, we had the octopus and sepia salads, and both were flavorful with good amount of meat. Even though spaghetti with seafood is more pasta than seafood, the quality of the seafood (clams, bits of lobsters, sepia, etc.) was high. With a glass of their "Blanc de Blanc," we were at peace amidst a hectic environment. Prices were fair for what we got, so that's a win-win! Sadly, the only fail was their one dessert (we wanted to stay there longer that day...). Their creme brulee was served cold and a little stale, but who cares when the fish are so fresh? I walked out of there feeling relieved that I found my seafood haven.

It was absolutely not what I'd expected from a restaurant above a public swimming pool, it was way better!!! We had two seats at the window with a great view of the outdoor pool. The staff was really nice and the menu was not too overwhelming. They have a few daily specials, mostly meat and fish, inspired by the Greek cuisine. We picked a fish platter and the calamaris. The food arrived really fast, even though the place was packed. It was really good! Simple, no unnecessary extras. 4 sorts of fish, potatos, salad + a great lemon sauce. The calamaris came also with a potato, some veggies, and a salad. The price was great (nearly to cheap). We paid 29€ for drinks and food!!! Highly recommend this place!!!!!!!
