Delicious salad arrives without salt or pepper. The owner recommended trying it first before salting. It was perfect the way prepared.

A truly delightful, memorable, and delish meal and experience. I wandered in late on Saturday and was expecting to be told it was too late, as the kitchen closed in an hour. Instead, I was greeted so warmly by the owner and his remarkable team. The owner, an international sommelier, made me the very best Negroni ever. He recommended my meal - the house specialty, Spaghetti Chitarra Allo Scoglio - and encouraged in a gentle way that I try the olive oil first, before adding salt or pepper; it was so beautiful that adding anything to it would feel criminal. He treated me as if I were then only guest. The most beautiful part of the evening for me was watching him interact with his staff. He treats them with deep respect and an apparent gentle hand that allows them to learn and grow. The open kitchen allows guest a peak into one of the most orderly and peaceful kitchens I've ever seen. The young chef worked with intent but grace, as if creating a masterpiece with each dish. It was late, so the evening was winding down. I had the honor of speaking with owner Adriano for a bit. I noted his generous approach with his team. He talked about his young staff and said they are eager to learn and are eager and do hardworking; so he is teaching them. His humility was inspirational. So, a magnificent meal in a beautiful space with lovely wine clearly curated by Adriano, a homemade bread selection, superior olive oil from a family farm in Adriano's region in Italy, and an owner who cares so deeply about his profession, his guests, and his team? It's worth returning to Amsterdam specifically for a second...third...fourth meal at this gem. Flawless food, flawless service, flawless evening. Thank you, Adriano and team

The buratta with tomato sorbet. Insanely good!

The mushroom risotto was absolutely the best I've ever had! Great atmosphere and service. A must visit if you are an Italian connoisseur.

So next time I was in town, I was sure to make a reservation. They anticipated my arrival and sat me at the bar. They have WiFi that works! The pizza was really good and you could taste its freshness. I had a couple of cocktails but it was really tempting to get beer on tap. The interior is cozy which adds to La Perla's exclusivity and reservation-only culture because there is limited seating inside. My friend recommended La Perla to me. He goes every time he's in Amsterdam. I can see why. Service was also great and quite friendly.

When we arrived we were seated immediately, though service throughout seemed a little slow as they were quite busy and not many waiters/waitresses. We ended up ordering the proscuitto and margherita pizzas, both of which were great! The margherita was so fresh and flavorful - I loved the sauce so much and the thin crust. A great classic pizza. The proscuitto was a bit more elevated with parmesan and arugula, and was also delicious! It was almost a little too much though to the point where I preferred the margherita. Also be sure to try their chili oil - it's so good!

Another very nice Italian place in the little Italy street from Amsterdam…read more Don't expect pizza's here though this is a real kitchen! This very small Italian is always packed. In the open kitchen you can see (and hear!) the chef work his magic. The bread, the starters, the fresh home made pasta's and the secondi's are all amazing. They import a lot from Italy themselves, and you can even but a bottle of olive oil here. The place is full of ferrari signs, foto's of Sophia Loren, etc. It feels like a second home. Great for a nice romantich night out or a double date, maybe not so good if you go with more then 4 people, as the place is very small. Expect to spend about 115 euro for 2 persons incl a bottle of wine. Make sure you reserve a table!

On the outside it doesn't look all too fancy. Inside, the tables are closely arranged; making getting up from your table quite a challenge at times. However the waitress was friendly, and the atmosphere cosy. I had the truffle tagliatelle, which tasted excellent, but sadly wasn't cooked properly; it stuck together. Same goes for the pasta with sausage we had. Maybe the secondi taste better, but I'm not prone to go check them out after this experience. All in all, good service, but for the pricing they might pay a little more attention to the food.
