First of all, the tour itself is fun. This is not a replacement for normal, walking, tours, primarily due to the fact that it is impossible to get inside the buildings and hard to even get close to them. It is also very hard to get to most interesting - and thus most crowded - areas. We took a private tour, the guide was helpful, the weather gorgeous. Don't expect to learn much about the history or the architecture - the whole thing is an excuse for riding on top of the awesome machine while taking in the views.
A star was taken away for the very simple cause: the tour only accepts cash. A person is unlikely to walk around Prague with pockets full of cash. An ATM is installed in the lobby with the exchange rate more than 10% below the market. Nothing spells "you are a tourist, we therefore can take advantage of you, and please do not come back" more clearly. read more
