At 76 years old I was nervous about the bike ride in September 2018, but he confidently took us from the busy streets of Old Town over and along the Vltava River to bike paths leading into Mala Strana and the Castle, which overlooks much of the city. On our walking tour a year later in 2019, he took us to the Vyšehrad neighborhood and Střelecký Island, all within easy walking distance of our hotel. Michal stops often to offer information and take photos (Michal kindly sent us the photos that he took). We visited several delightful Czech cafes: Kavarna Novy SvEt and U Kroka. We wore windbreakers on the bike ride and jackets for the walk in mid-to-late fall. No rain! We hope to set up another tour with Michael on a return visit.

I was recently visiting Prague for the first time for a conference. A group of us from the…read moreconference wanted to get out and see the outskirts of Prague by bike, so we hired Michal for a couple of hours. We had an outstanding day! Michal met with me the day before (came out to the conference site even) to hear what we wanted, the abilities of the riders, and offer some options based on that information. He arranged for the bike rentals, and made plans for a day that perfectly fit our needs as riders new to Prague. I am a fairly adventurous person and experienced city bike rider, so I suppose I could have rented some bikes on my own and used a bike map. But here's where Michal is worth every krona and more: He speaks Czech and has knowledge of how to craft a ride route that really maximizes the little time we had. My experience during my visit was that very few Czechs speak English, and almost no one does the farther away from the center of town you get. So, for every negotiation we had an ambassador. For example, when we were having a snack at a bike path shack north of Prague and needed to negotiate a ferry ride across the Vltava to catch a train back into the city, Michal took care of it. Yes, I acknowledge that sometimes those moments are part of the overall adventure of foreign travel. But if you just want to focus on the ride, the scenery, and allow yourself to enjoy the experience without worrying about the logistical details, then I highly recommend My Green Prague. Also, Michal is charming, totally willing to adapt to the customer's agenda, and fair priced. If anything, I think he could charge more based on the service we got. PS - The bikes we rented were great. They were in good shape, and the shop had "extras" available (ex, paniers) for a fair and reasonable price. It was nice to be able to customize each person's rental so no one ended up paying for something they didn't need or want. Bottom line: Michal is one of those unique professionals in the tourism business who is successful at delivering exactly what is described (and more, in our case) on his website. No games, no up sells, we never felt like he was anything less than totally enthusiastic about Prague, biking, and having a good time while on vacation.

A great way to tour some of the parks off the beaten path and really enjoy some unique views of the city, waterways and skyscape. Get an up close look at the Petřín Lookout Tower (looks like the Eiffel Tower) and safely experience operating a Segway which is especially important if you're a beginner at driving one! Honza was our guide. We were very fortunate to have him as our guide. He's educational, entertaining and energetic! He'll encourage you to navigate bumps, dips, turns, hills (up and down) and curves with confidence! So much fun! Our friends have been on several Segway tours around the world and even they admitted that this one in Prague by Honza their all-time favorite. A brief break at the cafe within the park was a much welcomed break during our October excursion (7°C/ 45°F). We enjoyed hot chocolate, hot wine, mushroom soup and toast. They have coffee and beer too. Take gloves with you during cold weather. Will come in handy. The Segway Fun tours provide ponchos in case of rain. They have restrooms available for their customers at no charge. (Don't pay the CZK20 at the business adjacent to theirs to use the restroom.) After a short (and hilarious) lesson we started the tour (in English) The tour guides speak various languages, I think one was giving a tour in Italian and French (at the same time), gotta love Europe. PROS -You get to see a lot of the city and actually know what the things you're looking at are. -We stopped at a really cool monastery/bar/restaurant-the oldest brewery in Prague for some beer and soup to warm us up. -The guide was super nice and was even able to improvise when certain paths were closed (he singlehandedly rode all 6 of our segways down steps). -The guide was flexible and decided it would be better for us to go up to the castle rather than through the crazy crowded old city, and then we stopped and watched the fireworks because fireworks. CONS -Riding a segway can be kind of challenging, taking pictures while riding a segway was even more challenging. - I have all these derpy pictures of myself in front of a gorgeous castle on a segway wearing a helmet. Cool. -It was SUPER cold. And leaning forward and backward slightly doesn't exactly warm you up or burn any calories. Dress warmly if you're going in the winter! -We didn't actually learn that much about the places we visited, and didn't get to go into any of the buildings. If you are into this, maybe try a walking tour. Recommend because it's fun! Not if you're super into learning about everything in the city.

From a chronological stand point, this tour picks up after WW 2 and covers major events which occurred afterwards, leading up to the fall of communism. The tour was well narrated, objective, and our guide answered any questions that our group had. The bunker tour was covered the second half of the tour and was a real treat. It gave a glimpse of what life could have been like if the event of a worst case scenario; nuclear attack. The bunker was well preserved and the guide gave personal accounts of what living in Prauge was like during an era where the fear of a nuclear attack was real. I'd would recommend this tour to anyone what that is interested in history from this time frame of world history. Also the tour started and finished on time, and the start point was easy to find. At the conclusion of the tour Zuzana suggested one of her favorite restaurants that wasn't over priced, and was quiet.

We did the free castle tour and we were not disappointed!!! We almost didn't do the tour because we…read morethought we had to pay to enter the castle! I went online to reserve a spot for our group just in case. The meeting point is at the central square in front of the tourism office. Look for the blue umbrellas. They suggest you bring 24 kc for the train ride up to the castle. You can either buy the tickets from them or at any station prior to meeting up. I forgot the name of our guide, might have been Alexis, but anyway she was super cool, funny and very informative! She was so kind and made sure no one was left behind! During the tour, she also takes you across the Charles Bridge and explains a lot of the history there too which is super helpful. The entire castle tour was amazing! The view of the city from the top is breath taking!
