It was difficult or at times impossible to speak to anyone about this but the bills kept coming. Our insurance company advised us to ignore these but we were threatened with collections by the hospital if we did not pay. I finally paid boy to have received a refund a few weeks later. What a way to leave a terrible impression.

We were provided a referral to Colorado Psychiatry Center (P.A.-Claudia Szeterlak) for a child in…read moreour home suffering from multiple diagnosis in which she recommended medications to assist. We started going to Claudia and during the sessions she did not offer anything of value other than the recommendation each time to change his medication or dosage. It takes 30 days minimum in most cases for medication to try to begin to stabilize. After the 3rd adjustment my husband came in with I told him to no longer change his medication, and that I would be going to the next appointment. I sat in on the session and again she mentioned a change in dosage to which I immediately said no to. Throughout our duration of time there with my stepsons violent tendencies at school and at home, medication regulation was key to make outburst more manageable. We had provided multiple videos, school reports and write ups regarding his outburst. With that all said EVERY month we were impacted by prescription filling issues, never were prescriptions ready or called for refill when asked, even if done a week in advance. We would arrive to Walgreens and be told there was nothing sent, we would call the office back and get a series of apologies and told it was called in and fixed. Yet EVERY Month it occurred. We had to reach out to our PCP at times for bridge prescriptions to cover time periods of their errors. Most recently on 8/23/2022 @ 3:30pm after a consecutive last 6 months of issues, trying to call in to get it resolved, my husband drove up and went to the front desk, explained the situation and waited in the lobby. When the front desk told him they fixed their error he said he wasn't leaving without a prescription in hand. My husband was communicating with me over Facebook Messaging the entire time that he was in that office, my husband is the calm, friendly loveable one and I am the escalation point who is not conflict adverse. So having him go and address the situation was the best idea or so we thought. Apparently the lady at the front desk that day was new (so we were told the following day when the manager called him to talk about what was deemed as "the incident") The manager said that it was the female at the front desks second day, and that she had come to him saying that she was scared because my husband refused to leave until speaking with the Doctor to have a prescription put in hand to physically take to the pharmacy because she had told him that she had corrected her error. The manager very passive aggressively over the phone asked "How do you feel about making someone upset on their second day of work" to which my husband countered "How do you feel about the fact that your business has been unable to have my sons prescription filled without issue every month for the last 8 months?" Having a new employee start is not an excuse for 7 prior months of consistent medication refill issues and escalations that we had to engage in, all in an effort to get the child the care and support needed to function appropriately. The manager then said "Well its clear that you are angry, and hostile, and feel no remorse for making someone that just started working here on her second day cry so we are going to release you from our care, we will send you a letter with a list of other places that you can receive care, and a final 30 day prescription to carry you over while you find a new place for your son to receive care" We got a letter almost 2 weeks later... The issue is that the letter came but the prescription yet again... did not. This resulted in me as the wife being forced to contact the front desk (in an effort to spare my husband any additional theatrics) and explain that yet again there was an issue with prescription WHICH WAS THE ROOT CAUSE AROUND WHY MY HUSBAND CAME TO THE OFFICE FRUSTRATED IN THE FIRST PLACE AND DIDNT LEAVE WITHOUTH A SCRIPT PHYSICALLY IN HAND and the fact that they couldn't even seem to get it right when canceling the child as a patient care speaks to the root cause of the entire situation, being their incompetence and lack of ability to manage medication without patient escalations. I have filed a compliant with the BBB regarding this incident and recommend anyone looking for a location to provide child psychiatry assistance or medication management not subject their loved one to what we had to endure for the last 8 months. Hopefully they undergo a review by their primary leadership, and make the necessary changes needed to transition out incompetent/incapable staff, passive aggressive office managers who attempt to bully patients over the phone, and can prevent other patients from experiencing the same poor service, lack of professionalism in delivering a health care service that we were billed for and subjected to.
