I'm a former employee of Cura West Nursing Office, and I'm concerned about the facility's priorities and treatment of clients. During my time there, I witnessed double standards, neglect, and unprofessional behavior. Clients' grievances were often dismissed, and investigations seemed to prioritize protecting staff rather than ensuring client well-being. I saw instances of inadequate care, including failure to follow safety protocols. Which often times negatively impacted clients. The facility's culture and policies seem to enable neglect and unprofessional behavior. As a result, clients may not receive the care they deserve. Id definitely think twice about sending your family here. read more

I highly recommend this facility based on several different reasons. The staff is absolutely incredible from top to bottom. The food is amazing. They really know their stuff. They actually care. And they never leave you hanging with an aftercare plan. If you decide to come here for longer than simply detox, the residential program is excellent as well and they do their best to make sure you have everything you need including exercise and healthy diet, etc. Highly recommend 10 out of 10. And I especially wanna shout out one of the Case manager's name Nick. Also, one of the Bht's named Collin. However, one employee is better than the other. This place is the best! read more

Curawest was a life saver. Their inpatient program is smaller than other programs I looked into giving you more one on one time with therapists and facilitators. I have been trying to quit drinking for years and nothing I was doing alone worked. I couldn't be more grateful for my experience and look forward to sending them a cactus from Southern California this Christmas and some donation books. read more

My second time in rehab and it was a lovely experience for what it was. The techs are very sweet, so are the nurses, chefs, and janitors. this was my first detox, and the staff was amazing down to the therapists. outstanding nursing who had great knowledge on how to keep me healthy and safe. I was checked on by staff and the nursing daily was giving a clean room clean beds changeable sheets when asked for and the food was amazing plus help me with the knowledge of going to groups in the AA community. I like to give a shout out to the staff members and including caseworkers who also help me set up a after recovery plan that got me into a great sober living. This place is a curse to humanity!!!! I wish I could write this place negative stars because they deserve it. I was here maybe a day and a half and I also have an eating disorder and I was upfront and honest with the staff that I had been purging and they kicked me out that very same day. They told me that a hospital in Aurora could take me and had a specific floor for eating disorders and they could take me inpatient. I do not think that any hospital staff member would flat out lie to another treatment center and tell them that they had a floor where they could treat me when I was in an emergency medical situation when in reality they didn't. They basically dropped me off at Aurora hospital and told me I was in good hands and hours later when I did my psych evaluation, I was told I couldn't stay there because they didn't have a floor for eating disorders. I believe that this treatment facility lied to my face and just wanted some quick place to dump me as they didn't want to deal with me. Now I've been in a hotel room relapsing into my eating disorder harder than I ever have been in my whole life. Props to this place for putting my life in danger and the entire staff is terrible for literally putting me in a life-threatening situation. Also forgot to mention the first night I was having bad anxiety around even being there as I've been abused by places like this in the past and just wanted some staff to talk to and I was told by one staff member (fat girl with short hair and ear gauges, can't remember name) to go back to my room because they "talk about things here" so I went back to my room and cried myself to sleep. To the entire staff: I wish nothing but the very worst for you and every single person you love and care about. How dare you treat people who are sick and need help like this?! It's inhumane!!! Also they took my Rx mouthwash and dumped it without telling me!!!! They also wouldn't let me make a single phone call to my mom to discuss her getting me my hormones (I'm trans), which I am positive is ILLEGAL. Also, notice how they respond only to the positive reviews and not the bad ones??? I smell bullshit! Don't send your worst enemy here!!! read more

While at CuraWest, I did not realize how awesome of a facility tithat it really was! Being from IndiIndianaana, and my first detox/ residential treatment, I didnt really know what to expect. CuraWest gave me the clean time that I needed to launch into RECOVERY. At 90 days CLEAN, I can full heartedly say-- CuraWest saved my life. I would love to visit them again, as a clean person, sometime just because I have such an appreciation for what my stay did for me. Avoid this place at all costs. Like most of these places, they are only in it for the money. It starts with a salesperson telling many lies. When they tell you they would never send an account to collections, or start talking about your insurance, DO NOT LISTEN. Think used car salesman. They get you in the door, and then you are a prisoner. They will say it is a voluntary facility, but should you choose to leave, they will not give you your things for 72 hours after you walk out the door. If you have no phone, wallet or keys, what will you do in the cold Denver climate without these things? The nurses were extremely rude and angry, and counseling staff and management are all rude and not compassionate with patients. When I voiced my very few legitimate concerns to the manager, I was scolded by her and treated rudely for the rest of my stay. They claim to have a chef serving gourmet meals, but they were not good and what they really mean is they fill the dining area with junk food. Think macaroni and cheese cups, chips, etc. And on Sunday you can expect cold McDonald's breakfast sandwiches. They billed me $4,500 per night for this joke, to be treated like someone that did something wrong when they were supposed to help me. It is shameful and a complete rip off - keep looking for a better facility if you need real help. read more

I am a recent former employee with CuraWest. my review is for the sole purposes of my experience with the company. I'd like to say it was a clean and beautiful facility a select few of the staff are kind and genuine people. I do not know if I'd necessarily recommend this job for anyone in the future. It was not the normal training you would expect going in with no experience. It was overwhelming and chaotic due to the fact they do not really have a training process for you. They throw you in with multiple other employees that have been working there for some time. Some of them are experienced and very knowledgeable and some are still figuring it out but they are all supposed to train you? so you're learning like 10 different ways on how to do things which then in return isn't always the correct way so you have to be corrected and made to feel unconformable because some other staff member taught you that then you feel the need to defend yourself. They can be very clicky. The girl at the front desk would tell on me about my choice of clothes but then turn around and also wear that and would loudly come discuss all her personal problems in front of everyone. A lot of people would wear jeans and it was okay for them if it wasn't on the weekends... They are all very bad at communicating things minus one female who worked nights. Most of the people who have shared their reviews for this company were told to do so by Shae who I believe was the supervisor. I saw that happen on multiple occasions, so its not like they really had a choice to put anything negative if they wanted to. Shae wasn't the most friendly to me but she definitely picked her favorites and for whatever reason she wasn't fond of me from the beginning to end. I wanted to keep my job because I enjoyed the patience I worked with more than anything. I really loved watching them blossom and grow even in the short time I got to know them. I really cared about them and wanted the best for them. I loved being able to learn about them and their different needs. I know there were many patience that did complain to me about the program and some of the staff but I couldn't do much to change that even when I had vocalized and suggested some changes Shae was not receptive and made to make it seem like it did not matter and my opinion did not matter. which in return was a big flip off to the patience that came to CuraWest. I do not believe this facility is also the best for people needing unlimited support, empathy and a plan for their mental health and sobriety. That is based off of what I had seen and how they run their program. I believe curwest needs a lot more work and empathetic employees in order to have more success stories from the patience that attend their detox and residential program. I had plenty of patience come to me and express they were scared when it came to the end of their detox because no plan was put into place and they wanted them to figure it out and when Id try to get them with someone on the team they would ignore them which was pretty disheartening. I do not believe that is how a program should be run and how patients should be treated based on basic ethics, morals and love. I felt the director was all about himself and his story and almost narcissistic based on what I saw in his class he held and my one on one meeting with him for the start of my employment. I personally felt and saw that the patients were not a big priority and were pretty much just there to get in and out. no real empathy and compassion towards them. I was shocked to see how some of them were treated when in-taking and were already anxious. The staff were rude and not compassionate. read more

This is a joke of a detox! They are only worried about getting people in the door. There is little nurse oversight. They do not help with withdrawals. Left after 24 hours of sitting on a bed with no care whatsoever. They didn't want to give belongings back, but finally did because they had not administered medication yet. Called back to facility to check back in, was left in the lobby for 4 hours and just left to find another detox facility. Got a bill in the mail for full 7 day detox amount. Was told I checked into the facility so was charged for the whole program. DO NOT use this detox center. Others are much better, actually care, provide treatment, and a fair price. read more

I'll start out by saying that as a brand new facility, comfort here is next level. Every client gets a private room with a comfy bed and their own TV, complete with full access to YouTube (a bit controversial, but I enjoyed it). The food is fantastic. Three hot meals are served every day and the 24 hour kitchen is stocked with goodies like ice cream, cereal, fruit, salads, and much more. The majority of the staff is helpful and kind, from the BHTs to the providers. HOWEVER, the reason for my low rating has to do with one man with entirely too much power and an ego to match. His name is Jeremy. As a program director, I'm sure he makes the company quite a bit of money in a variety of ways, including keeping clients there for as long as possible. This isn't uncommon with detox facilities unfortunately so that isn't my main complaint. The problem is, he is hyper focused on that money-making goal leaving little time for client interaction or care. His management style is authoritarian and his decisions outweigh those of both medical and clinical providers, an absurdity that is actually quite dangerous. Forget about phone interactions with friends or family during your stay here, this facility has extraordinarily strict rules against calls, though the handbook we are given says otherwise. I overheard Jeremy bragging about this to someone he was providing a tour to. Hi words were "We avoid letting them use the telephone because once they start talking to loved ones, they want to go home." Well it's not a prison camp so, legally, you are allowed to leave. On the subject of leaving, some relevant information to note is that while you are *technically* allowed to leave, their policy is that if you do, you will not be able to leave with your belongings, but may return for them in 48 hours (an arbitrary time period). This includes critical property that one would need to survive outside the facility such as your wallet, credit cards, and house/car keys! It's unrealistic to expect someone to be able to leave all of that there. How is one supposed to get home? They won't even let you use their phone to arrange a ride home and if you live alone and locked your doors, good luck getting inside! And although the providers are fine with Suboxone maintenance, Jeremy (the non-medically trained director) is against it and will gladly tell you his opinion, which is not evidence-based. I was lied to repeatedly about my discharge date and plans. I was eventually forced to leave without any medication or a discharge plan at 7:30 PM after 7 full days of treatment. This man is a danger to addicts everywhere and is solely focused on financial gain for the company. With no medical training, his input should NOT surpass those with medical licenses. Stay far away from this place if you want long term sobriety for yourself or a loved one. Don't get caught up in the short term amenities! Your life is more important than that! read more

I also wish I could write a negative star review.. I was here 7 days. Tia the medical doctor. sighed of for my blood spasms results to be sent to the lab. The lab cIaim's the results never got to the lab. curawest said the blood spasms never got labeled, but got signed off to be sent in. Took more blood the day I left never called like they told me on where I can get my results or that they are ready. They also had someone else social number in my file. I would suggest going to a more professional detox. I have been to a lot of detox, rehabs and never experienced this before. Have been trying to get this addressed about my results. Tell me to email their records department. They want me to send an email with all my info on it. They already miss handled sensitive info, and don't trust emailing them it. I was at the Denver location detox. That's part of the hospital don't be fooled by it be in the hospital. The hospital leases the space. Doesn't run or manage the detox. read more

I as three other people in my PHP group had a similar experience. The staff is 50/50 I had to explain to a night BHT how to check a medical Uber. I had four case managers/therapist which was a joke so all of my aftercare I coordinated myself after getting safely detoxed. Short term depending on what you need but I would go elsewhere! read more
