In the past I've had a blind for my house ordered and fitted by the Blind Spot. They did a…read moreperfectly good job at a reasonable price of installing a plain cream blind. As they've recently moved premises they caught my eye again and I decided to inquire about getting the last wooden blind that I need. It wasn't difficult to arrange an appointment for some body to come and measure up for a quote. The problem is that if you're out at work during the day you can't get them to come at a convienient time before you leave - 9.30 is the earliest and it's much the same at the end of the day. That's why I ended up getting someone else who could come after office hours to do most of my blinds last time. They're not open on Saturdays either, which is a pity. I wouldn't mind getting them again because they are nearby, if only I didn't have to reorganise my life so much to fit in with their hours.

John took them out to the back office and came back to say all there. When I got home and was hanging each one, the stitching is so shabby/shocking to say the least. I could not sell in that state to a customer. I rang John and he did agree that some back stitching took place - well every slat was bad, not even straight. Asked me to bring them back!!!!!???? If I had checked myself before leaving the shop, I would have asked questions. Maybe my standards are much too high. Would not go back here - get better service anywhere else. Cecilia Conway

I called in here to price curtains and bed linen as they have been about for absolutely ages and have a decent reputation. I wasn't that impressed. The stuff, I felt, was out dated and expensive. The staff weren't very helpful even though I very obviously needed help with measurements, colour schemes and the like. I personally prefer Dunelm Mill but I was in the centre of town and couldn't have been bothered traveling about the place. I don't think I will go in again for anything other than a definite item as I just felt a little overwhelmed at all the stuff but the lack of help.

However, when my parents were away on holiday last year, I decided I would venture in and purchase a duvet cover set for myself, having been in dire need of one for quite some time. Undoubtedly one of the most important days in a girl's life... I was fortunate enough to be in the shop during sale time, and was even more fortunate to find a blue and white barcode striped duvet cover for half price...£10 ("how do you do it?" is a frequent question asked by my mum). That usual jubilation that suddenly overcomes me the moment I find a bargain eluded me for once. I *had* to phone my mum and dad to ensure that my find was genuine and the bargain was good enough to warrant a purchase. A five minute phonecall later, and we established that this was the case. Phew. A year later, and my blue and white striped duvet cover is still perfectly intact, currently taking pride of place on my bed. Having had such a wonderful experience, when I went back this year to a newly refurbished Spinning Wheel, I was slightly disheartened to find no duvet covers on the bottom floor, despite the fact that this was indicated on the wall. Being in a hurry, I had to go, but I will definitely pop back in for a proper look very soon. And to get lost among all those curtains. Looks like such fun...

Time went by as it does in our busy lifestyles, out of the return window. Tried to return for credit note to buy three of the correct size (£65.00 each). Very unfriendly manageress right out refused. I had £300 in my pocket that day to buy the three blinds and purchase a couple of other things for around the house from Dunelm......nope, not to be. I took my £300 and unreturnable blind (will end up using on another window) to Harry Corry's........and spent every penny there!
